Chapter 30: Departure

"Grandpa, I'm leaving now. Thank you for everything. I'll miss you." He says, hugging his grandfather.

"I'll miss you too, Kai. You're welcome for everything. I'm proud of you." His grandfather says, hugging him back.

"Grandpa, do you have any advice for me? Any words of wisdom?" He asks, looking up at his grandfather.

"Advice? Wisdom? Hmm… let me think." His grandfather says, stroking his beard.

"Well… I guess I would say this: Be yourself. Follow your heart. Trust your instincts. Don't let anyone tell you what to do or who to be. You're a Zoldyck, but you're also Kai. You have your own path, your own destiny, your own choices. You have your own strengths, your own talents, your own passions. You have your own dreams, your own goals, your own values. You have your own life, Kai. Live it the way you want to." His grandfather says, smiling.

"Wow… that's… that's beautiful, grandpa. Thank you. I'll remember that." He says, touched.

"You're welcome, Kai. And remember this too: I love you. I'm always here for you. If you ever need me, just call me. I'll come running." His grandfather says, squeezing his hand.

"I love you too, grandpa. Thank you. I'll call you often." He says, squeezing his hand back.

"Oh, and one more thing: I have a gift for you." His grandfather says, reaching into the case beside him.

"A gift? For me? What is it?" He asks, curious.

"It's this." His grandfather says, pulling out a new sword and a new pistol and handing them to him.

"Wow… these are amazing. They're beautiful." He says, admiring them.

"They're yours now. They're custom-made and enhanced with nen. They're made from the best craftsman in the hunter headquarters. They're the best weapons money can buy." His grandfather says, proud.

"Wow… thank you, grandpa. These are awesome. Why are you giving them to me?" He asks, grateful.

"Because I want you to have them and use them. They're better than your old tonfas and pistol. They're more powerful and versatile. They suit your style and personality better. They're perfect for you." His grandfather says.

Grandpa Zeno and Kai then proceed to a testing facility near them. It is a large and modern building that has various rooms and equipment for testing weapons and abilities. Zeno says that he has reserved a room for them to try out the new sword and pistol.

When they arrive at the testing facility, Zeno shows his hunter ID to the receptionist, who greets him with respect and admiration. He then leads Kai to the room that he has booked, which is a spacious and secure area that has different targets and dummies for practice. Zeno then explains to Kai the materials and uniqueness of the new sword and pistol.

The new sword is a medium length sword that is designed for cutting and piercing and has a color of a mix of a black blade and a red hilt and handle.

"This sword is made from a rare metal called adamantium, which is stronger than steel and lighter than aluminum. It can cut through almost anything, even titanium. See this?" Zeno says, pointing to a titanium plate on the table. He swings the sword and slices the plate in half with ease.

"Wow... that's incredible." Kai says, amazed.

"That's not all. This sword also has a special ability, thanks to nen. It can absorb the blood of its enemies and use it to power up its attacks. The more blood it absorbs, the stronger it becomes. It can also release the blood as a wave of energy, like this." Zeno says, pointing to a dummy on the other side of the room.

He stabs the dummy with the sword and draws some blood. Then he pulls the sword out and swings it again. A red wave of energy flies out of the sword and hits the dummy, blowing it up.

"Wow... that's awesome." He says, impressed.

He then explains his new pistol that is a model of the Walter P99 that can shoot 350 metres because of its high quality material and being enhanced with nen. Then he explains its special ability.

"This pistol is made from a high-tech polymer called carbonite, which is durable and lightweight. It can shoot up to 350 metres, thanks to its high-velocity bullets and its nen-enhanced barrel. See that?" Zeno says, pointing to a target on the wall.

He aims the pistol and fires a shot. The bullet hits the target with a loud bang. "Wow... that's amazing." He says, astonished.

"That's not all. This pistol also has a special ability, thanks to nen. It can change the type of bullet it fires, depending on what you need. It can fire normal bullets, explosive bullets, tranquilizer bullets, or even nen bullets. You just have to say the type of bullet you want before you pull the trigger, like this." Zeno says, holding the pistol.

"Explosive." He says, and fires a shot at another target. The bullet explodes on impact, creating a small fireball.

"Wow… that's cool." He says, amazed.

"Tranquilizer." He says, and fires a shot at another target. The bullet releases a green gas on impact, making the target fall asleep.

"Wow… that's useful." He says, impressed.

"Nen." He says, and fires a shot at another target. The bullet glows with a blue light on impact, creating a nen aura around the target.

"Wow… that's powerful." He says, awed.

"See? This pistol can adapt to any situation. It's perfect for you." Zeno says, smiling.

"Wow… thank you, grandpa. These are awesome. I love them." He says, hugging his grandfather.

"You're welcome, Kai. I'm glad you like them. I hope you use them well." Zeno says, hugging him back.

"Oh, and one more thing: this pistol also comes with a silencer or muffler that you can attach to it to reduce the noise it makes when shooting. It's useful for stealth missions or when you don't want to attract attention. You just have to screw it on the barrel, like this." Zeno says, showing him a small device that looks like a tube.

"Wow… that's handy. Thank you, grandpa. This pistol is amazing." He says, admiring the device.

"You're welcome, Kai. I'm happy you like it. I hope you use it well." Zeno says, proud.

They then went to the airport for Kai to return to his adventures. He had packed his bags and put his new sword and pistol in a special case that Zeno had given him. He was excited and nervous to resume his journey and explore the unknown.

Kai saw his twin brother, his friends and his teammates there at the entrance. He was surprised and touched to see them all waiting for him. He knew at that moment that they were here to wish him luck in his adventures and to bid farewell to him. He felt a mix of emotions: happiness, sadness, gratitude, love. He smiled and runs to hug them.

"Kai, we're going to miss you. You're an awesome friend and teammate. You've been our leader, our ally, our student, our friend, our brother. You've impressed us, amazed us, inspired us, motivated us, cheered us up. You've shared your strength, your talent, your courage, your kindness, your passion, your spirit. You've made this mission fun and rewarding." His friends and teammates say in unison.

"Thank you, guys. I'm going to miss you too. You're the best friends and teammates anyone could ask for. You've been my companions, my partners, my mentors, my rivals, my inspirations. You've helped me, protected me, encouraged me, challenged me, supported me. You've shared your stories, your emotions, your joys, your sorrows, your victories, your defeats. You've made this mission memorable and meaningful." He says in reply.

"Here, we have some gifts for you. We want you to have them and remember us." His friends and teammates say, handing him some bags.

"Wow… thank you. What are they?" He asks, curious.

"They're souvenirs and mementos from our mission. We have some photos of us together, some badges of the Hunter Association, some medals of honor from the mission, some books and magazines about the Chimera Ants and the Hunter World, some snacks and drinks from different countries we visited, some clothes and accessories that suit your style and personality." His friends and teammates say, explaining.

"Wow… these are amazing. Thank you so much. I'll treasure them." He says then hugs them, as they hug him back.

Kai then went inside the airport to board the flight that will go to his destination.

He boards an airship, which will take him to his next destination. He looks at the window and sees the sky and the clouds, as well as the land and the sea. He feels a sense of excitement and curiosity, as well as a sense of freedom and peace.

He decides to go back to his original destination, the Lost City of Zal, where he still wants to explore and discover. He thinks that it will be a great place to start his new journey, his new adventure, his new challenge.
