Chapter 121: Is Loki Still Alive?

The thunder in the sky became even more intense.

Thud!

A figure descended from the sky, landing outside the Quinjet, shaking it.

The person wore a red cloak, fluttering in the night, clearly not an ordinary individual.

Undoubtedly, with such a grand entrance, it must be none other than Thor, the God of Thunder.

However, at this moment, the people inside the Quinjet had no idea that their unexpected visitor was a friend, or rather, a future friend. Tony Stark put on his helmet and opened the cockpit door.

"Another Asgardian?" Natasha Romanoff asked.

"Is that guy on our side?" Steve Rogers also inquired.

"It doesn't matter," Tony Stark walked towards the cockpit. "Whether that guy wants to release Loki or kill him, the Tesseract is gone."

"Stark, we need to formulate a battle plan!" Steve Rogers called out.

"The plan is to fight!" Tony Stark ignored Steve Rogers and activated the thrusters, taking to the night sky.

Steve Rogers looked helpless, but after a moment of hesitation, he grabbed a parachute.

"I can't control him, Captain," Natasha Romanoff said.

"I don't want to control him either," Steve Rogers said as he put on the parachute and held his shield, jumping out of the Quinjet into the darkness.

Meanwhile, in another corner of the night, Thor held Loki and threw him to the ground.

"Where is the Tesseract?" Thor asked.

"Long time no see, brother," Loki lay on the ground and smirked.

"Am I here to catch up with you?" Thor's face darkened.

"Did you mourn for me?" Loki's words carried a hint of haughtiness.

"We all mourned," Thor said, "our father..."

"Your father!" Loki corrected him and then walked away, rubbing his waist. "Did he tell you about my true heritage?"

"We were both raised by him, we played together, fought together," Thor approached Loki. "Have you forgotten?"

"What's Loki's true heritage?" Tony Stark saw this and couldn't help but ask, "Why does Loki not look like your real brother?"

"Loki is not my biological brother; he was adopted by my father," Thor explained briefly. "My father found Loki abandoned by the Frost Giants' king during his battle with them, so he brought him back and raised him with me."

"Frost Giants' king?" Bruce Banner noticed the key point, "Thor, did you just say king?"

"Yes, Loki is the son of the Frost Giants' king, Laufey. Before being adopted by my father, he was a prince," Thor said.

"So now I understand even better why Loki couldn't become the king of Asgard," Tony Stark said. "It's not just because of Loki himself, but also his heritage. He lacks Asgardian blood, so he can never be the king of Asgard."

"Loki's relationship is not merely an adoption; he is also a prince of an enemy realm," Bruce Banner said. "So Odin could treat him equally in other matters, but he could never treat him equally when it comes to the choice of the throne. Loki's desire to be king can only be achieved through some unconventional means."

"My heart is filled with shadows." In the video, Loki turned to Thor and looked at him. "I've always lived in your shadow. I can never forget that it was you who threw me into the abyss. Who am I? I am a king!"

"So, you want to conquer this world to compensate for your inexplicable inferiority complex?" Thor stepped closer to Loki. "No, I will protect Earth!"

"Hahaha!" Upon hearing this, Loki burst into laughter. "You protect them so thoughtfully. People are killing each other in droves, and you stand by and do nothing. I want to rule over them, why do you think I can't?"

"Do you think you're more powerful than humans?" Thor asked.

"Of course." Loki replied nonchalantly.

"You don't understand what it means to rule, brother." Thor said, "The throne would make you feel uneasy."

"I have seen a world you know nothing about!" Loki pushed Thor away. "When I was banished, fate smiled upon me. I witnessed the true power of the Tesseract. When you hold it..."

"Who showed you that?" Thor interrupted Loki's speech. "Who is the mastermind behind all this?"

"I am a king!" Loki proclaimed loudly.

"Don't daydream!" Thor said sternly. "Hand over the Cosmic Cube and abandon these absurd dreams!" His tone softened a little. "Come back with me."

"It's not with me." Loki replied.

Thor became furious, and his hand reached for his hammer from the ground.

"You need the Cube to take me back." Loki's expression showed confidence. "But it's gone, and I don't know where it is."

"Listen, brother, I..." Thor's words were cut off as a red suit dashed through, knocking him somewhere out of sight.

"There's a problem." Inside the answering space, Steve Rogers furrowed his brow. "There's a problem with Thor and Loki's conversation."

"Yes, a big problem." Bruce Banner said, "From this conversation, we can roughly deduce what happened. Loki failed in his attempt to seize the throne, fell into the abyss, and Thor and Odin thought he was dead. But, if the real situation is similar to the video, what if Loki didn't actually die?"

"Thor, in the video, it mentioned that the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed." Tony Stark said. "The trajectory of events in the video is almost the same as what happened in Asgard. If you all thought that Loki, whom you believed was dead in the video, actually survived, then we have reason to believe that the real Loki might not be dead either."

"It seems that Loki is very likely still alive." Thor pondered, perplexed. "But how did he survive in the abyss?"

"It looks like the Battle of New York is inevitable." Steve Rogers sighed. "I thought we could avoid one war."

"Captain, don't worry, now that we know Loki isn't dead, I will do everything I can to find him and stop him!" Thor said determinedly.

However, the others could sense that Thor's spirit was different now, no longer as despondent and depressed as he was when he first entered the answering space.

In the video, Tony Stark and Thor flew to a forest, where Thor landed clumsily.

"Do you dare touch me again?" Thor stood up from the ground and glared at Tony Stark.

"Then don't steal my stuff." Tony Stark retorted.

"Do you even know who you're talking to?" Thor asked.

"Uh... you're a stage actor?" Tony Stark resumed his snarky remarks. "Does your mom know you stole her shawl?"

"That's none of your business, Tin Man." Thor looked at Tony Stark and said firmly, "Loki will face Asgard's judgment."

"Only if he hands over the Cube." Tony Stark said, "Until then, you better not get in the way, outsider." After saying this, Tony Stark turned around to leave.

Thor remained silent and threw his hammer at Tony Stark, causing a loud crash as Tony Stark was sent flying, even hitting several trees.

Tony Stark was not one to take a loss lying down. After standing up, he fired a palm repulsor at Thor, hitting him squarely and pushing him against a tree. Then, Tony Stark flew up to Thor, and with an iron boot, kicked him, sending both Thor and the tree flying.

Thor also retaliated with the power of his hammer. He pointed the hammer at the sky, and with a crackling sound, a massive bolt of lightning struck down. Thor pointed the hammer at Tony Stark from a distance, and the lightning hit Tony Stark, shattering his magnificent armor into pieces.

"Energy level reaching four hundred percent." J.A.R.V.I.S's voice resounded.

Thor is such a simple-minded guy. When he used lightning to attack Tony Stark, he unintentionally charged up Tony's armor instead.

"How about this?" Tony Stark stretched out both hands and shot three dazzling energy beams from his palms and chest, sending Thor flying.

But Thor landed perfectly fine, seemingly without any harm at all, not even a strand of his golden hair was out of place.

His body is just too abnormal.

In the next moment, man and god flew towards each other, engaging in a close combat in mid-air, breaking countless trees and frightening all the flowers and plants around them.

After a while of fighting in the air, both of them fell back to the ground and started a close-range melee.

Bang!

Thor punched Tony Stark in the face.

Tony Stark swung a fist at Thor but was caught by Thor's hand.

Tony Stark threw another punch, but Thor blocked it as well.

"That's not a good idea." Tony Stark resumed his snarky remarks, "He's really attached to his hammer..."

Bang!

Before he could finish his sentence, Thor knocked him away with a hammer strike.

"Do you want me to put down my hammer?" Thor's voice grew louder, and he leaped high into the air, hammering towards Steve Rogers.

Steve Rogers crouched down, raised the shield over his head, and with a clang, Thor's hammer struck the shield, releasing a dazzling light and sending Thor flying back from the recoil.

Steve Rogers stood up.

Tony Stark got rid of the tree that was pressing on him and stood up.

Thor also stood up.

All three of them looked a little disheveled.

"Are you done now?" Steve Rogers asked.

The space darkened, and the video ended.

The previous analysis by the group was correct. When the God of Thunder and Iron Man fight, even if they didn't use their full power, it's not something anyone can easily break up.

If it wasn't for Steve Rogers stepping in, and if any of the other three in the options had tried to intervene, they would probably end up in the hospital.
