Chapter 44: Sitting on a Donut and Eating a Donut

(Vote Plz....)

As the video started, Tony Stark was seen wearing his Iron Man armor and sunglasses, devouring a donut with great enthusiasm. As the camera zoomed out, the others were shocked to see that Tony Stark was actually sitting on a giant donut statue.

"Sitting on a donut and eating a donut. I don't find it strange at all that Stark would do something like this," Phil Coulson couldn't help but comment.

"This behavior is so 'Stark'!" Clint Barton nodded in agreement.

"No!" Thor exclaimed in a frantic manner. "Stark, you actually did something like this to a donut. I swear I will never eat a donut again."

He had previously thought that donuts were quite tasty.

Then the camera zoomed out further, revealing a bald head.

"Sir, please get off the donut!" Nick Fury shouted, looking up.

The scene changed, and Tony Stark and Nick Fury were now sitting in a coffee shop. Tony Stark bluntly stated, "I don't want to join your boy band of superheroes."

"I remember, you do everything on your own," Nick Fury chuckled and picked up a cup of coffee. "And how did that turn out?"

"Well, well..." Tony Stark hesitated to speak. It was clear he didn't want to talk about it. He looked at Nick Fury and asked, "Should I look at your eyepatch as an eye or as an illusion?"

Nick Fury looked at Tony Stark with a half-smile.

"To be honest, I have a bit of a hangover," Tony Stark lowered his sunglasses halfway. "To be honest, I'm not sure if you're real or an illusion."

"I am real," Nick Fury leaned forward, bringing his bald head closer to Tony Stark. "I am the most real person you have ever seen."

"I'm lucky. Where are the employees here?" Tony Stark quickly averted his gaze, seemingly dazzled by Nick Fury's shining bald head, mumbling to himself.

"This isn't good." Phil Coulson turned to Tony Stark and asked, "So, those are the symptoms of palladium poisoning?"

"Yes, those are the symptoms of palladium poisoning." Tony Stark standing next to Phil Coulson pulled down his collar, revealing the same pattern of lines as in the video.

Of course, those lines were not as dense and the color not as deep as in the video, indicating that the palladium poisoning in the video was much worse than Tony Stark's current condition.

At that moment, another person appeared in the video. She was wearing a tight-fitting suit that accentuated her curves.

"I've cleared the entire area, but we shouldn't spend too much time here," the seductive voice of the woman sounded familiar.

It was none other than Natasha Romanoff, the "Answerer" who had previously answered the questions together.

"You have been fired!" Tony Stark immediately realized what was going on when he saw Natasha Romanoff in the video.

"That's not for you to decide," Natasha Romanoff said with a charming smile, sitting next to Nick Fury.

"Tony, this is Agent Romanoff," Nick Fury also smiled as he introduced Natasha Romanoff to Tony Stark.

"I'm an undercover agent for S.H.I.E.L.D. When we found out about your illness, Director Fury sent me to observe you," Natasha Romanoff added.

"You S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are really audacious." Tony Stark couldn't help but sarcastically comment, "It's one thing to go undercover, but to do it right in front of me."

"Is this Nick Fury?" Thor stared at the bald head in the video. "The Nick Fury I wanted to meet?"

"Yes, Thor, this is Director Fury, my immediate superior," Phil Coulson said. "He's the one who sent me to New Mexico to wait for you."

"Well, I guess I don't have to meet him then." Thor said disappointedly. After coming to this answer space, he realized that Nick Fury's knowledge of his arrival on Earth was solely due to the answering process. He couldn't possibly know about his father's arrangements.

"You can still meet him," Phil Coulson knew that his boss would definitely want to meet Thor. "While Director Fury may not be able to solve all your doubts, as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he can provide you with assistance in many matters."

"Such as?" Thor shrugged, showing indifference. He didn't believe that an ordinary mortal could be of any help to him.

"For example, if it weren't for Director Fury, you wouldn't even be able to get close to your hammer," Phil Coulson said. "I mean, physically close to the hammer, since you can't even lift it now."

"That's my hammer!"

"How can you prove that?" Phil Coulson asked.

"I..." Thor was at a loss for words. Indeed, how could he prove that the hammer belonged to him? After all, he was separated from the hammer when he was exiled to the courtyard, and he couldn't even lift it.

"This matter falls under the jurisdiction of S.H.I.E.L.D. If it weren't for me and Director Fury believing you after watching the video, you wouldn't even be able to get close to the hammer."

"Alright, I'll meet Nick Fury first," Thor thought for a moment and agreed to meet with Nick Fury.

While Phil Coulson was speaking to Thor, the video in the space changed again, and poor Natasha Romanoff, this thorny rose, had just appeared and disappeared from the scene.

The new scene was set in a seaside villa, where Nick Fury and Tony Stark sat together. In the distance, Phil Coulson was observing something with binoculars.

"The thing on your chest is made based on unfinished technology," Nick Fury said.

"No, it's a finished product," Tony Stark denied. "I made it work by miniaturizing it."

"No, your father said the Arc Reactor was just a stepping stone for even greater technology," Nick Fury said. "He planned to launch a power competition that would leave all his rivals in the dust."

"You're telling me I haven't tried everything, what do you mean? What haven't I tried?" Tony Stark asked.

"He said only you have the resources and intelligence to complete what he started," Nick Fury said, holding a glass containing an unknown liquid.

"He said that about me?" Tony Stark retorted.

"Was he talking about you?" Nick Fury retorted. "If it was you, you would be able to unravel the mystery in your heart."

"I don't know how you know all this, but my father didn't like me that much..."

"What do you remember about your father?"

"He was cold, calculating, and never said he liked me or loved me. What's hard for me to understand is that you're telling me that my future is completely up to me."

"That's not the truth."

"Well, obviously you know my father better than I do."

"In fact, you're right. He was one of the founding members of S.H.I.E.L.D."
