Chapter 24: Thor Appears

New Mexico.

Phil Coulson sat in a coffee shop, talking on the phone with Clint Barton.

"Has your god arrived?" Clint Barton's voice came through the phone.

"Not yet," Phil Coulson replied, "but luckily I have two beautiful women among my surveillance targets, which makes this 'waiting for a god' trip less boring."

"That does sound interesting."

"If only there wasn't an old grump," Phil Coulson said, "although he's a top-notch scientist, what difference does it make to me?" he continued, "What about you? Any leads on your doctor?"

"Just one name, what do you think?" Clint Barton countered.

"Boss, we have a situation!" At that moment, a voice came through Phil Coulson's earpiece, "They ran into someone!"

"Who did they run into?"

"It's too dark, and we didn't want to alert them, so we kept our distance. We couldn't see their face clearly, but based on their physique and hairstyle, they resemble the person in the sketch."

"Does he have a hammer?"

"He didn't have one. But we faintly heard him yelling 'hammer.'"

"Oh?" Phil Coulson immediately stood up. The person matched the physique in the sketch and mentioned a hammer. There seemed to be a significant connection between this person and the one they were looking for.

"Boss, there's something else strange," the agent added.

"What is it?"

"That person seemed to have come down from the sky." The agent seemed to think that what he said was too absurd and paused before adding, "My attention was focused on the car, but I caught a glimpse of a shadow descending from the sky. Maybe I saw it wrong since it was dark..."

"Coming down from the sky?" Phil Coulson was stunned. Descending from the sky, similar to the description the director gave him about the Thunder God. Could it be that it was really a god?

"What do you mean by 'coming down from the sky'?" Clint Barton's call was still connected, and upon hearing Phil Coulson's words, he couldn't help but ask.

"I think the god I've been waiting for has arrived," Phil Coulson replied.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, that god came down from the sky to Earth. My agents just saw him descend." Phil Coulson said, "I'm going to go see this Thor. I'll talk to you later."

After Phil Coulson inquired about the specific location of Thor's arrival and checked the local map, he drove straight to a hospital.

That was the place where he could see Thor the fastest.

When Phil Coulson arrived at the hospital, he saw Jane Foster, Darcy Lewis, and Erik Selvig gathered around a reception desk.

"Name?" the nurse sitting at the computer asked.

"He says his name is Thor," Jane Foster uncertainly replied.

"T-H-O-R," the nurse typed the name and asked without looking up, "What is your relationship with him?"

"I've never met him before," Jane Foster replied.

Phil Coulson sat in a café in New Mexico, talking on the phone with Clint Barton.

"Has your god arrived?" Clint Barton's voice came through the phone.

"Not yet," Phil Coulson replied, "But fortunately, I have two beautiful women among my surveillance targets, which makes this 'waiting for a god' trip a little less boring."

"That does sound interesting."

"Would be even better if there wasn't an old grump around. Although he's a top-notch scientist, what difference does it make to me?" Phil Coulson said. "How about you? Any leads on your doctor?"

"Just one name. What do you think?" Clint Barton replied.

"Boss, we've got a situation!" Phil Coulson's earpiece suddenly sounded, interrupting their conversation. "They ran into someone!"

"Who did they run into?"

"It was dark, and we didn't want to alert them, so we kept our distance. Couldn't see the face clearly, but based on the build and hairstyle, they looked a lot like the person in the picture."

"Did he have a hammer?"

"No, but we faintly heard him shout 'hammer'."

"Oh?" Phil Coulson immediately stood up. The person who matched the description, had a similar build, and mentioned a hammer. There seemed to be a significant connection to the person they were looking for.

"Boss, there's something strange," one of his subordinates added.

"What is it?"

"That person seemed to have fallen from the sky," the subordinate said. "It was dark, and I was focused on the car, but I caught a glimpse of a shadow descending from the sky. Maybe I saw wrong, considering how dark it was..."

"Fell from the sky?" Phil Coulson was stunned. Descending from the sky, sharing similarities with the person the director asked him to wait for—the Thunder God. Could it be that he really is a god?

"What do you mean, fell from the sky?" Clint Barton's call was still ongoing, and upon hearing Phil Coulson's words, he couldn't help but ask.

"I think the god I've been waiting for has arrived."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, that god, the one we've been waiting for, someone from my team just saw him descend from the sky," Phil Coulson said. "I need to go and see this Thor for myself. Gotta hang up now."

Phil Coulson inquired about the specific location of Thor's arrival, checked the local map, calculated the route, and drove directly to a hospital.

It was the fastest way to see the Thunder God.

When Phil Coulson arrived at the hospital, he saw Jane Foster, Darcy Lewis, and Erik Selvig gathered around a nurse's station.

"Name?" the nurse sitting at the computer asked.

"He said his name is Thor?" Jane Foster said uncertainly.

"T-H-O-R," the nurse entered the name and asked without looking up, "What is your relationship with him?"

"I've never seen him before," Jane Foster said.

"Until she hit him with her car," Darcy Lewis added.

"I just grazed him with my car," Jane Foster retorted, "but she shot him with an electric gun."

"His name is Thor, it must be him!" Phil Coulson, who overheard the conversation, stepped forward and asked the nurse, "Which room is he in?"

"Who are you?" Jane Foster looked at Phil Coulson, who suddenly appeared.

"I am Loki," Phil Coulson said.

"What?" Jane Foster looked at Phil Coulson with a strange expression. There was a guy claiming to be Thor a moment ago, and now there was someone claiming to be Loki?

"What's with all these weirdos today?" Darcy Lewis muttered to herself.

"I'm not Loki, I'm actually David," Phil Coulson smiled at them, "That Thor, he's my younger brother." Phil Coulson pointed to his head, "Because of a childhood accident, he's a little different from others. He always thinks he's the legendary God of Thunder and calls me Loki."

"Wait a minute, your relationships are all messed up," Darcy Lewis said, trying to figure it out, "You're his brother, but Loki is Thor's uncle? That doesn't add up at all."

"Just as I said, he's a little different from others." Phil Coulson pointed to his head again and slightly bowed, "I'm sorry he caused you trouble, but I'm glad he encountered kind-hearted people like you. Otherwise, I would really be worried."

"Oh, no problem," Jane Foster said, still a little bewildered.

"So, my dear lady, where is my brother now?" Phil Coulson put on a gentlemanly smile and asked the nurse again.

"Turn left, go straight, then turn right. It's the third room," the nurse said.

"Thank you," Phil Coulson said and turned to leave.

"How dare you attack the son of Odin!" Before he even left, he heard a roar from inside, followed by banging sounds. It was clear that a fight had broken out.

"Thor, son of Odin!" Phil Coulson walked in with large strides. "You came to Earth just to attack these ordinary people?"

"Of course not!" Thor was taken aback by the question and stopped fighting.

The nurses and doctors also stopped in their tracks and looked at Phil Coulson.

"If you want to leave here, listen to me," Phil Coulson whispered to Thor, then turned to the medical staff and said, "Hello, I believe you've already met my brother, Thor..."

Phil Coulson came up with a set of explanations and detailed stories to fool Jane Foster. Of course, he added more details and made it sound more convincing.

In the end, the two of them left the hospital together.

"They really look alike," Phil Coulson looked Thor up and down.

"What do you mean by 'look alike'?" Thor asked.

"Just like the Thunder God."

"Of course, I am the Thunder God. I am Thor," Thor stopped in his tracks and started scrutinizing Phil Coulson. "Do I know you?"

"No, I don't know you," Phil Coulson said. Seeing that Thor had empty hands, he suddenly remembered something. "What about your hammer? Did you leave it at the hospital?"

"If only that were the case." Talking about Mjolnir, Thor couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness. His father actually took the hammer away from him!

He still couldn't understand why. He was fighting for Asgard, but it ended with his father's anger, taking his hammer, and banishing him to Midgard.

"Why?" Thor couldn't help but shout to the heavens. "Father! Why! Why did you treat me like this?"

"Heimdall, take me back to the Rainbow Bridge! Father must have misunderstood me!" After calling for Odin, Thor began calling for Heimdall. "I need to go back and explain it to him face to face!"
