Positioned in the main cavern, the trio kept a watchful eye on the slumbering monster. Johan's thoughts were momentarily replaced by cautious observation. 'Even in its damn sleep, it's still on alert,' he thought, eyeing the creature warily. The partially open eyes added to the eerie atmosphere, 'This thing's always ready to pounce.'
As he observed, Johan's mind wandered to an old legend he had heard in his travels. 'Legends are just tales,' he scoffed internally, 'but maybe there's a grain of truth in this one.' He recalled the tale of creatures with many eyes, beings said to possess a central eye that held immense power. 'Blind the center, and the rest become useless,' he mused, 'Could it be true?'
He glanced at the creature's massive form, 'There's no harm in testing the theory.' "Hey, guys," he whispered to Ken and Danny, "I heard this old legend once. Creatures with many eyes have a central eye, and if you blind it, the rest become useless."
