I Think I Have A Chance

The smirk on his face returns, as the blood continues to drip down his face.

"Heh. I forgot about that annoying trick. It's fine, you can have that hit, but know it'll be your only one."

The air around him grows more dangerous as more electricity flows from him, providing further charge for his Galvanic form.

I don't have to check on my bioelectrical activity as I know it's overcharged and I'm bursting with energy.

As he just confirmed what I was thinking about his own abilities. He was purposefully wasting a lot of bioelectrical energy, maybe to flex or something.

But I noticed in our last engagement, when I absorbed his energy, diminishing his capabilities enough to land a hit on him, and he didn't take any of mine.

I don't know whether he didn't know how to take another's energy or didn't want to use it.

Either way, he once again wasn't as overwhelming as I once thought he was. I could do this.

Crouching for a brief moment, a cloud of dust is left in his wake as he charges towards me at insane speeds.

Even with my focus on him, his speed has only increased from before and I once again have some trouble tracking his movements.

He dashes straight at me, swinging his sword in a downward slash. Knowing the power behind that attack, it's better for me to instead dodge it.

Stepping to the left, the blade whizzes past my face before it disappears entirely. Snapping around behind me, I turn, bringing up my own blade in time to stop his own aimed at my neck.

He disappears once more, and I sidestep a jab directed at my chest. His attacks start to speed up. He resembles a bolt of lightning as he zips around me, striking out at my weak points.

I his attacks start to outmatch my ability to counter him, as cuts begin to form on my arms and legs. While Im struggling to defend, I hear him say,

"We were trained by the Shimada, assassins. We were trained on how to take advantage of our opponents weakpoints. If they didn't have any, we were taught how to make them.

When you use this form, you use it when you're already at a disadantage and trying to catch back up in a fight. Your misuse and reliance of this form just proves how weak you actually are."

Finishing his sentence, he appears before me, and I turn to face He swings his blade upwards, where it would slash across the right of my hip to the left of my shoulder, therefore making it difficult to dodge.

Having little choice, I bring my blade down to block it. The force behind the attack, knocks me back off my feet, and he doesn't wate his chance to capitalize on my moment of blunder.

He applies pressure, making me constantly retreat as he stabs out at any spots I have unguarded.

I feel sharp pain across multiple points on my body as I knock some of his hits away, for his flurry of attacks to just strike other area.

I knock his stab towards my stomach away and prepare for his next attack until a pain in my shoulder brings my focus towards it.

My retreat halts, as the movement is restricted. His sword, extends through my shoulder and out of my back as he starts to lift me into the air.

Pain assaults me, as fear and anger take over, making me act without thinking.

With my left hand grabs the blade, to alievate the pain while I strike out with my right hand that hold the blade.

He expects the counter and easily grabs the hand holding the blade, keeping me from further attacking.

Instead of thinking a clear way out the situation, panic starts to take over, making me futilely struggle against his iron grip.

"You were taught to have the advantage and keep it. You have everythign needed to be one of the top powers in this world. Take advantage of the Omnic Crisis, stop trying to play hero.

Forget anyone else, look out for yourself, you're powerful enough to not be the soldier taking orders. Seize victory while everyone else burns."

I stare into his eyes, and see someone greedy for power, someone who won't hesitate to kill.

"And what, be someone like you?" I question in between the pain.

He smiles, "That's the problem with you Shawn. You think that you're in control by knowing what's going to happen. You plot and plan but in the end, you accomplish nothing.

Someone like me? I am you. But that's what makes me so sick. From now on, I'll be in control of the Galvanic form."

The sword jerks out of my shoulder making me fall to the ground.

His blade swings towards my head and I raise my own to block it.

I forget that my word arm is being held, so the only thing I can do is raise my other hand to block it.

His blade easily slices through my hand and before I can process the pain, my vision darkens as I my head tilts back looking towards the black sun before it plops on the ground and everything goes black.
