Chapter 47

Seeing Alfia was bad, no super bad, no the worst case scenario that could possibly happen. The last time we met, I was beaten easily but for some reason she let me and everyone during that raid live.

The mind of a person was complex and guessing her thoughts despite her hate for the black dragon was pointless.

She let me go once didn't mean she would let me go again nor would nothing stop her from killing Kaguya and Lyra.

I wanted to run and leave them but felt a huge lump in my chest for thinking that. The memory of nearly dying by her hand and my conscience battled in my head.

My conscience won over my fear, so I decided to try to help the them. Despite their stupid decision to fight the final boss with only two people, they were friends and I didn't want to let my friends die.

I disabled my active runes to save mind and drank a potion to refill the little mind that I had lost earlier keeping them active.

It was time to cast the greatest distraction that I could. Well my spells were a distraction at most to a level 7 and my target was Erebus, at least make them think that.

Alfia made her way towards Erebus and Vito as she was nearby. What greeted her sight was two members of the Astraea familia she had met sometime at the church. She wasn't going to do anything really but Erebus and Vito asked her to take care of it.

"Tsk bunch of useless men" Alfia muttered before confronting the two girls of the Astraea familia.

When Lyra and Kaguya noticed Alfia's presence, they were scared. There was no way that they could beat a level 7.

"Ka-gu-ya let's run" Lyra said in a shaky voice.

"There's no point, we can't possibly outrun them and they would probably kill us if we turn our backs" Kaguya replied, trying to sound confident.

Finalizing a crazy plan to save the two of them, I found a prime location and began to act. First I used partial transformation to make draconic wings.

This was meant to be a trump card in a pinch but not worth keep it now that my friends were in danger.

Next, I summoned my grimoire and drew a wind rune, casting the wind tracking spell, to check if anyone else was going to be in the affected area.

After confirming that there was no one besides my targets, I cancelled wind and drew an earth one after drinking a mind potion.

The amount of mind I needed to pull off the spells I planned was massive, so I had to be careful and not have a mind down before completing the plan.

I took a deep breath as it was time to act. Clasping my hands as if In prayer or using a jutsu, I unleashed my spells.

"Haaaaaaaaa" I screamed for the dramatic effects. Casting an Aoe earth shock followed by quick sand and earth dome of a large size to slow down Alfia, Erebus and Vito.

There was no way that I would actually kill Erebus with my hands as that would be another set of problems on its own.

I was counting on the fact that both Vito and Alfia would prioritize Erebus safety over attacking both Lyra and Kaguya.

"Huff, Huff, Huff". I was out of breath after the spells were completed and everything felt a bit hazy. The massive dome that I made was flimsy at best but was used to cover their sight while the quicksand and earthquake was to target Erebus. I quickly took off to the sky to grab both Kaguya and Lyra.

"Kaguya, Lyra. Grab on" I screamed as I descended towards their location. I did this for them to recognize me and not be spooked. They both grabbed on and we took off into the distance.

Boom!!!

The sound of the dome collapsing could be heard in the distance. Alfia had probably broken the spell easily but I had accomplished my goal. My head felt dizzy and my vision blurry.

The girls felt heavy as my wings weren't made to carry this much weight at least in my humanoid form. At least that's what I thought but It could simply be something else.

"Um, Lyra, Kaguya your heavy and even more bad new. I am about to black out so good luck" I said.

I managed to get them to a decent distance and closer to the ground before losing consciousness.

The last thing I remembered was how fast my heart was beating at the stunt I just pulled off.

Lyra and I were getting ready to confront Alfia, she was a decent distance between us so we were thinking of how to make it out alive, she suddenly appeared when we tried to take out both Vito and Erebus.

We were sure that today would be our deaths. There was no way to beat a level 7 and also had no idea how to outrun one either even if she was a mage. I could feel Lyra's fear through her shaky voice.

'Ah all this because we were looking for a childish elf throwing a tantrum. She couldn't just accept reality' I thought. Then suddenly the ground started rumbling, the area around Erebus, Vito and Alfia.

I was confused and thought that it was one of Alfia's spells but the next scene shocked me. The ground around them turned to quicksand and a massive dome covered them.

I was dazed and confused until, I heard Draco's voice, looking around, I couldn't see him anywhere until I looked up.

There Draco was flying with dragon looking wings, he told us to grab on before bringing us up to his chest and flying with us into the distance.

Honestly at that moment, he looked like a Prince Charming, here to rescue two damsels in distress and he was quite handsome too, is what I thought until he called both of us heavy and soon crashed with us to the ground.

The distance between Draco and the ground wasn't much so we didn't take much damage from the fall. We had to carry Draco to a safe location and report the sighting of Erebus, Vito and Alfia to the Hq.

Draco was an unusual guy to most of us in the Astraea familia. The first time we met him, we thought of him of one of our numerous admirers that kept trying many ways to get our attention but with time he proved to be a valuable friend or potential lover.

I mean the guy is a literal dragon kin and handsome. In legends dragons were said to be quite powerful in strength and stamina wise.

It wasn't strange for us to think of you know what, when a handsome guy that wasn't really lustful towards you and treated you with respect was constantly around pure maidens like us.

To add bonus points, shared the same ideals as your familia and can cook. Anyway he is a great guy and I am sure the others think so too.

Meanwhile at Alfia's location.

"What the frick was that" Vito screamed in anger. He was annoyed that someone actually had the balls to sneak attack them.

"Hey Alfia did you see anything??" Vito asked Alfia who just stood still gazing at a direction with a barely noticeable smile.

"Hey what you smiling at, answer me" Vito continued.

"Shut up" Alfia replied in an annoyed tone. Vito quickly shut up as there was no point angering such a powerful ally. There was no way Alfia, a level 7 mage wouldn't notice the movement of magic in the area around her but she let it slide.

"No the magic wasn't meant to harm us but a distraction to save those two girls" Alfia replied as she saw that Erebus was interested.

"Hmm, interesting" Erebus said before they continued on their walk while discussing something.
