14. Her house

"Get in the house, Arabella," Victoria, her "sweet" mother said, her voice dripping with disdain, as she walked inside. Isabella followed, trailing behind her. Her facial expression copied her mother very well.

Arabella paused at the entrance of the mansion, taking a moment to reflect on the memories she had before leaving this place and country four years ago. As she recalled those memories, some bitter and others blurry, a surge of emotions washed over her.

She spent her whole life here. Even though she was the eldest daughter of the family, she was never considered or treated as one. She was almost treated as the maids of the house. Why? She doesn't know. She never even bothered to ask. She just received everything silently. But not anymore.

With a deep breath, Arabella pushed aside those thoughts and followed them inside, the weight of the past lingering in her steps. They entered the living room, a space filled with conflicting emotions.
