63 - Earth Knight Boss

After swinging it's spear the Earth Knight took a powerful step forwards, as it looked down upon the skeletons charging towards it.

Two orbs of light glowed from with it's helmet, that were faintly visible from the thin vision slot on it's helmet.

The boss entered a battle stance, left leg forwards, right backwards, both hands were holding the spear as it lowered it's stance slightly in order to generate more power.

It was at this time that the skeletons arrived all 15 of them, as they tried to surround the boss in a attempt to distract and take agro.

But completely unexpected the Knight didn't use any skills or flashy attacks, no it couldn't have been simpler.

"Whoosh! Crush!" With just a simple swipe of it's spear from left to right, coming into contact with the first skeleton it didn't stand any chance as its bones shattered apart like glass.

Dieing instantly but the spear didn't stop or even pause in it's destructive attack as it continued destroying one skeleton after another.

No matter how many skeletons there were it didn't matter as nothing could survive or stop the spear.

It was over in an instant, all that remained were pieces of bones that had been scattered around on the floor, as the only sign of the one sided instant massacre that had just happened.

Michael knew in that instance that this was going to be the hardest fight they've ever had.

And that he'll receive no help tanking in this battle, now usually he would receive at least some help as Victor's skeletons were very hard to kill.

And they could rebuild themselves, so even though they were far weaker and couldn't do much or any damage, they could be used to soak up damage or keep agro.

But right before both of them all of Victors skeletons were killed in an instant by a normal attack, making them completely useless in this battle.

Victor held his forehead with his left hand as he was hit by a small mental backlash as a headache spread, with widened eyes Victor stared at the boss that slowly stood up straight.

"This guy is intelligent, so none of the stupid tricks will work, this... Is a fight we'll need to give our all in, if we even want a hint at survival..." Victor said staring at the Earth Knight.

"Yeah... I can feel it, a sense of terror spread through my entire body as soon as it got up..." Michael said as scooted over to get in a better position to protect Victor.

"Stand strong, it's coming!" Victor suddenly said, it was at this time that Michael realised that the boss had disappeared.

Sensing danger from his left, Michael moved his shield as quickly as he could to block.

"Bang!" Michael immediately felt a huge impact force slam into his shield, he gritted his teeth as he slided across the ground before bearly stopping.

"What the hell..." Michael didn't waste any time as he prepared for the next attack.

This time he didn't let himself get distracted and kepted his full attention on the boss, so he was able to see it charge towards him.

The boss slammed down its right foot before stabbing forwards with its right arm.

The air broke apart, as if the spear tip was a missile flying straight at Michael.

Knowing he couldn't block this attack, Michael tipped his shield on an angle so that the spear tip would be deflected be sliding off the shield.

The sound of metal scraping spread as Michael successfully deflected but it left a nasty cut on the shields surface.

But Michael wasn't one to miss any chance, so as the spear tip grazed off the shield Michael attacked as well.

His eyes glowed as the hammer got closer and closer, and he managed to strike true, as he slammed straight into the Knights shoulder plate.

But he immediately felt pain in his hand as all of his force from his attack rebounded and traveled along his weapon straight into his arm.

Backing up Michael checked his hand which luckily wasn't bleeding or seriously injured as his hand felt numb.

Turning his attention to the boss he saw a worrying sight, his shoulder plate wasn't damaged even a little bit.

"Umm.. Boss I don't think I can break through it's defence." Michael voiced his concerns as he changed his stance, this time entering a more defensive one.

Victor knew that if they couldn't break the bosses defence then there was no way to defeat it.

Victor started to plan on how to beat this boss, but most of his abilities would be useless in this fight.

'Should I use my familiar.. no it's too weak it'll be killed in an instant... As for my curses.. they don't have much of any affect, so it won't make much of any difference...' Victor tried to simulate different battles against the boss.

But there was just one huge problem... He didn't know anything about the boss, it's skills, fighting methods or traits.

He knew nothing, after all he couldn't access any information about most monsters including monsters of Epic rating and above.

"Ok calm down... If we can break it's defence then there's hope for us to beat this boss." Victor spoke to himself.

"I need you to distract the boss, so that I can hit the boss with Darkness Bullet to erode its defense, in the meantime I'll do my best to weaken the boss." Victor said as he prepared for battle.

"Ha, you got it boss." Michael smirked as he dropped his Warhammer before unsheathing his sword in preparation for the hard battle ahead.

"Let's do this!" Michael charged forwards this time, in response the earth knight was fazzed as it attacked with another thrust.

Michael knew he couldn't block any of the Boss's thrustes so he hit the spear to to side with all his strength with Shield Slam.

= Shield Slam =

"Bung!!" The shield hummed like a large gong from the impact but none of this distracted him as he used another skill this time to counterattack.

= Heavy Slash =

His sword grew in weight and power as it slashed down aiming for the Earth Knight's helmet.

"Whoosh!" Michael suddenly felt the air break on his right side before a powerful force hit him directly on the side of his armoured chest.

"Bang!" In that moment right before Michaels blade connected the Boss slammed his palm into the side of its spear.

And used this energy to spin the extended spear round so that the base of the spear would strike Michael directly into his right side.

Michael felt two things, one intense pain in his right ribs and two his feet leaving the ground before he was swatted right into the air.

"Crash!" Michael hit the ground hard a full three meters away from were he originally was, before the access force made him roll three or four times.

Only stopping with great effort, Michael immediately looked up to his right, not letting himself lose sight of the boss.

Quickly getting up off the ground while groaning in pain, he didn't let his guard down nor did he let himself drop his sword even with trembling hands.

"Ahh, dammit I think at least two of my ribs are cracked, f*ck he also dented my armour!" Michael quickly glanced at the spot He got hit, where a dent was left from the strike.

"How are we meant to beat this guy? It fast, strong and it has an insane defence." Michael complained as got up and charged the boss.

"I've figured it out! It isn't actually fast instead it's using a ability to slide across the ground." Victor who was watching on could see more than Michael could.

And he saw that when the boss charged Michael it's two feet never left the ground, instead it was like the very ground was pushing it forwards.

"If it truly is a skill then there has to be a limit to it, maybe a time limit." Victor said as he prepared to curse the boss.

= Curse of Slowness =

Although it was only 5% it still could bring out amazing effects in this fight.

= Curse of Weakness =

Quickly following with another curse right before Michael reached the boss.

The Earth Knight once again when for a swing attack only this time it was more of a slash as the sharp tip of the spear traveled straight for Michael's throat.

Michael didn't even flinch as he slashed his sword up and deflected the spear.

'It's gotten lighter!' Michael smirked before putting all of his weight and strength into his left leg before pushing forwards as he used one of his new skills.

= Charge =

He felt mana travel into his feet and legs before he stomped forwards with his his strength.

Using his shield to protect himself, Michael charged directly into the boss as he tried to push it back.

'One step, two, three, come on! More I need more strength!' Michael yelled in his mind as he used all his strength and power to push the boss into a stone pillar behind it.

Although Charge isn't meant to be used in this way, it still worked allowing Michael to pin the boss against a pillar.

'Now I just have to wait for it....' Michael thought to himself and he was right.

"Dodge!" He heard Victor yell behind him, and without any hesitation he moved out of the way.

A ball of black mana flew straight into the boss hitting it directly on the same spot Michael hit earlier.

After rolling on the ground Michael got up and looked at the boss to see if it worked.

And it did!

Where the Darkness Bullet impacted the yellowish armour started to change colour slowly turning black as it slowly disintegrated.

The boss looked down upon it's armour before reaching out and touching the black, when it's armoured finger came into contact with the damaged area it started to fall apart as if it had turned into ash or sand.

As the disintegrated pieces fell.....

I hope you enjoyed it, as I'm trying to get a feel for how the early fights will go before our cast get more skills and abilities I can work with.

Especially for Victor as... Well I don't have much to work with until ????????? ?????? So yeah.
