'You can't hurt me if I know I don't belong to you. I am on top of you right now cause I need no sympathy.
I need no tension. My glory is all I need. This glow is a hoax, and when I'll figure it out, I won't need any sympathy,' Elliana hummed as she walked towards the pond.
This place was like her new escape from the world. The silence would've been deafening if the birds weren't chirping so beautifully.
If Daniel hadn't interrupted her yesterday, she would've spent more time here, even if it meant bunking a lecture.
The faint smell of flowers and wet soil and the calming sounds of nature almost felt like a dream she didn't want to end.
The green color of the leaves, some dark and some bright, the sun shining right above the forest, the rays entering the forest, like some light penetrating through holes in a closed compound. Everything made her smile at the freshness.
The entire lecture after having lunch, she couldn't stop thinking about the weird vibes she was feeling. It was as if a part of her was unleashed, the part that should've stayed hidden.
The dream she had last night, she replayed every part of it in her mind, trying to find something, even if it meant a hint that could be used to know what it was all about.
It was the first time she had a dream like this. It was a nightmare at its peak.
Now that she thought about it, why was she scared again? The voice was nothing but a giant ball of colorful energy clustered together.
Was it because of how it tried to trick her by becoming her child self? But was anything that the voice said a lie? She had done nothing but suppressed herself her entire life.
Right from the moment she was declared the illegitimate daughter of the king, Elliana doesn't remember a moment where she was treated with respect, the respect she should be receiving as a human being if not like the princess.
Everything around her was a blur. She wondered how she had lived her life all these years in nothing but pain. The entire lecture, she had tried hard and strained her brain to find good memories worth keeping about her childhood and life before marriage.
Apart from the last few months in prison and the time when she used to meet Nath, she doesn't remember if she had any good times.
Nath. Elliana smiled at the thought of her only friend, the friend who was a bit too mysterious for her to figure out. It's been so long since she last thought about him.
He was the one who made her fall in love with nature. Why? Because the only place she used to meet him was near the Griffith caves.
His presence was almost unreal. She used to wait the entire day for the evening to arrive to run out of the palace and find solace in the only person who believed her, played with her, and never bullied or insulted her.
She never found out where Nath used to come from. He was always waiting for her whenever she used to reach the caves at that particular time.
One day when she was seven years old, she had been behind a rabbit, and her foot slipped on the wet spoil. She fell and rolled to the edge of the cliff, and if it hadn't been for Nath, she wouldn't have been alive today.
She walked further into the forest, not caring whether she would be late for her lecture.
She wanted to do this. Scratch that. She needed this.
Her thought process was changing, and maybe it was for the better.
The only thing she is sure about is that she didn't hate this change. Elliana honestly liked it.
This feeling of being more empowered, not giving two damn about anything, and this overflowing confidence in her veins made her feel like she was something, something useful in this world that she hadn't ever felt before.
It might be also because Mr. Marino held her today, making her feel like the most important person around him. Maybe he was the reason behind her grown confidence. Because she knows he has gotten her back now?
Whatever it was, she was done playing the scaredy-cat role. This energy was not new to her. She has felt this from time to time.
Most of the time, when Madeline used to enrage her, she used to have the sudden urge to fight back, and when this urge can be called a human's normal reaction to bullying, Elliana always knew it was something different.
The coldness she felt in her heart was the result of the suppression of her inner child, desires, ambitions, and anger was never something she allowed to surface and affect her character, but it was always there.
A part of her was scared. She didn't know what this chakra control was about, and G had clearly warned her not to play with this mysterious talent that only a few can unlock.
Maybe it was the meditation she used to do to calm her inner demons to save herself from going rogue and blow out her chance to meet her biological mom by retaliating against her stepmom.
Maybe those countless nights she spent on the terrace under the moonlight increased her psychic energies.
It could be anything, but rather than suppressing this energy inside her, as mentioned by G, was a talent, Elliana was ready to explore it.
And that's why she was about to do something that would've scared her previous self.
Yesterday when she had walked to the pond, unlike the energy around Lake, she hadn't felt any sadness. Rather, the energies were filled with joy. The vibes of youth and love were prominent in the environment.
The pond has probably witnessed many happy couples, proposals, kisses, laughs, and happy encounters. Elliana smiled and sat near the pond, putting her fingers in the water as she swirled and played with it.
'Let it shine,' Elliana smiled to herself, wanting her glow to do what it always wanted, to glow even more.
Her long French fingers circling inside the water, immersed to the knuckles, made her feel good.
The slight glow of her hands started showing in the water, and Elliana smiled.
Her heart drummed in her chest.
As much as good this feeling was, a part of her was wary of the unexpected too, but she was too long gone in her decision to back now. It was part of the thrill.
'Don't worry. This shall not harm you. If you want this process to happen yourself, nothing can hurt you. It's always the unexpected that hurts and scares us,' the mysterious voice said.
Elliana closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She didn't feel scared this time. She shouldn't have felt scared last night either. The voice, however mysterious it sounded, felt like it was trying to say or make her do something.
Her words, 'Accept me', 'all questions will be answered', 'this is a rare gift you possess', and 'Let it go,' circled Elliana's thoughts.
As she circled her fingers in the water, Elliana noticed how the water around her fingers started to become crystal clear.
It was as if the glow in her hand was forcing the mud away from the water. As the glow was increasing and spreading in her entire palm, the further the water was clearing.
It looked beautiful and surreal to her. She blinked twice, amazed at the scene in front of her eyes.
Sitting on her toes, she raised her other hand and placed it over the water. The hand that has never once glowed since she unlocked this chakra control.
'I didn't mean to scare you, girl,' The voice said, and Elliana hummed.
It started with one drop, then two, three, and soon Elliana witnessed the most magical thing of her entire life. The water droplets from the pond were rising in the air and coming to her left hand.
They were working against the gravitational pull to meet her hand. Is this what the voice meant when she said your glow absorbs the energy from surroundings? Elliana's pupils dilated as her heart pounded so loudly that she could hear her heartbeats in her ears.
This was nothing like she had seen before. Elliana gulped before shuffling closer to the pond.
The water was cold. She wanted to feel its coldness on her face, which might help her think straight even more.
"Isn't this the most beautiful thing?" The voice asked, and Elliana was about to speak to talk to the voice when she felt slight shuffling behind her.
Crack!
The sound of a twig breaking resounded behind her, and she immediately closed her fists, letting the water fall back into the water before she quickly wiped her hand on her dress.
She immediately jerked her hand, which was glowing out of the water, scared someone would see her doing this and find her weird, and probably try to use her abilities, as G had mentioned.
She took a few calming breaths to not look like she was caught in the act before she turned around slightly to see what it was.
However, when she noticed who the person was, her heart skipped a beat, and she fell backward, soiling her dress in the process.
"Nath?" She whispered in disbelief.
