A chaotic memory suddenly came flooding into his mind.

Slowly Maximus opened his eyes. 

Turning around he gazed into the mirror, trying to come to terms with the fact that he had transmigrated into a new body in a world of fantasy.

Fortunately, he was fortunate enough to be born into a noble family, as the son of Count.

But his good fortune was short-lived, as he was forced to confront the harsh reality of his new life.

The memories flooded his mind, as he remembered the attack by the cultists that had taken the lives of his parents.

His father, a Tier 3 Earth knight, had fought valiantly to protect his wife and son.

Unfortunately, the cult strength is not something his father can contend with and they still end up dead.

After the original body died, He transmigrated which is why Maximus Shadowcrest in this world is still alive.

After digesting the memory of the original body, he found that this world is Magic where extraordinary power existed.

At 19 years old, he was only a tier 0 apprentice magician which is comparable to normal individuals except for having a stronger spirit.

As for spells?

With his aptitude, he can only produce party tricks.

Knowing that his talent is not appealing added a bit gloom about his future.

As he was reminiscing, a new change caught his attention.

A blue screen appeared in front of him, with the words "Family and Power System Activating...."

After a while, the whole thing loaded up, coupled with information about the system.

For every child, the system generated potential points.

Active function:

The gold points could be utilized to purchase anything in the mall.

The potential points could upgrade his talent infinitely.

He then turned his attention to the mall.

He saw a wide array of items available, including magical tools, rare artifacts, arrays, and runes.

There was everything he could think of, from the most basic wand to the most esoteric knowledge, and there is even basic materials for living like food, raw minerals, all kinds of wood, and such.

As he checked his system, there was a knock on the door.

"Young master, are you alright?" The steward of their manor, Gerald, came in.

"I'm fine, How is everything?" Maximus asked.

"There was chaos in the city, but it was quickly suppressed by the guards"

"The cultists who attacked you and your parents however are nowhere to be found," Gerald replied.

"So it is... alright, you can leave me here to think this through," Maximus said.

Gerald hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Young master, I am truly sorry for the loss of your parents. Just know that I will always be loyal to your family."

Maximus nodded silently, still in the process of accepting his new status.

"Thank you, Gerald," Maximus appreciated his butler's care and concern. 

Gerald bowed respectfully and left the room, leaving Maximus alone to process his thoughts and emotions.

After Gerald left, Maximus started to think about his situation.

With this system, he could upgrade his trash talent and buy the resources that he needed.

Unfortunately, he didn't have a wife and a child.

Heck, he didn't even have a family.

"How do I find a wife?"

This is a profound question that hunted people back in his previous world

But here in this world, this is easy to solve.

The only problem is how?

Thinking about it, he is now a noble Count inheriting the title of his father.

The whole of Moondshadow City was in his pocket, surely finding a wife is an easy task.

As for finding marriage with other nobles, he also thought of this.

As he attempted to stand up, a sharp pain in his chest dissuaded him from doing so.

"Call Tristan!" Maximus shouted as he rang a bell to notify the guard outside.

Tristan was this territory treasurer, he thought converting some gold coins to buy things in the system mall.

A while later, A thin middle age man with glasses came inside.

"Greetings, young count." Tristan gave a bow.

Although Tristan didn't think much of Maximus he was still respectful after all he is bound by the Shadowcrest family.

After signing a contract, he had no way of betraying the family, unless he became at least tier 2 Great Mage.

This is also the way nobles control their people, of course, it's only for important positions as this kind of magical contract is expensive.

"How many gold coins are in the treasury?" 

"Um, We only had about 7,000 gold coins," Tristan said, thinking in his heart what this young Count is up to.

"It should be enough" Maximus murmured.

"Bring 5,000 gold coins here"

"This-"

"Just do what I said."

With no other choice, Tristan had a guard help him bring the money to Maximus.

A few minutes later, they came back with a crate filled with gold coins.

"Here is the money young Count"

"Just drop it beside me, then get out" 

"As you wish," Tristan sighed, he only hoped that this young count doesn't spend money indiscriminately.

Seeing they are out, he turned around and reached out the gold coins beside his bed.

"Convert" 

The gold coins in the crate slowly disappeared.

"It looked like gold coins have the same value as gold points."

Seeing that he had enough money he browsed the system mall and bought a tier 1 healing potion for 10 gold coins.

Seeing the potion that appeared in his hand, without hesitation he quickly drank it.

A comfortable touch appeared nourishing his body, as the wound and trauma slowly healed.

After a while, feeling that there is no more pain he tried to stand up.

"It's really a blessing to have a healthy body"

Maximus sighed, as he tried to stretch his body, feeling comfortable.

"Now, First stabilize the territory and find a wife"
