Kian's P. O. V

"You're making a big mistake, Davien can't guarantee your safety." Keith said to me with his hand on his car door.

Davien's threat had somehow gotten him to back off, a side of Keith I hadn't seen before. However, he demanded he'd only leave if I saw him off, something I didn't expect Davien to agree to.

"That may be true, but I feel secure when I'm with him, more than when I'm with you, so I'll be staying with Davien." I just needed to tell him that.

Keith looked like he had something to say, but he decided against it and got in his car, ending things between us on that note. I stood outside and watched his car until it disappeared completely from my vision.

He was gone, and something told me it was for good this time. I don't understand what it was about Davien's threat that made Keith stand down, but I just knew Keith and I would never see each other again.
