No heroes

Dante stood at the edge of the village, staring out into the vast forest that lay beyond. Memories of his struggles here flooded his mind, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia creeping in. But he couldn't dwell on the past for too long - he had a mission to complete.

With a deep breath, he began sprinting towards the forest, running past the hunting grounds and towards the area where the higher-level monsters roamed. As he approached, he slowed his pace and began crouch-walking forward, keeping his eyes peeled for any signs of danger.

As he crept deeper into the forest, he heard the sounds of battle nearby. Curiosity getting the better of him, he moved towards the noise, his senses on high alert. And that's when he saw her - a young girl, battling a crabling with all her might.

At first, Dante thought about turning around and leaving the girl to fend for herself. But then, an idea struck him - he could use her to his advantage. So he stayed hidden, watching her every move as she fought the crabling.

When he saw an opening, Dante leapt into action. He equipped his rusty sword and charged towards the crabling, swinging his sword with all his might. One swift blow to the head, and the creature fell to the ground, dead.

As Dante gained his experience points and leveled up, the girl spun around, her sword at the ready. "Who are you?" she demanded, clearly shaken by his sudden appearance.

"I'm Dante," he said with a smile, lowering his sword and taking a step forward. "I heard the sounds of battle and came to investigate. When I saw you struggling, I thought we could work together to level up faster."

The girl eyed him warily. But Dante was a master of manipulation. He spun a convincing tale about being the son of a wealthy business executive, and how he had stumbled upon information about a cave that could grant a bloodline to any beginner below level 10.

"Lead me there," she said, her guard slightly lowered by his stunning looks and smooth talk.

And so Dante and the girl - whose name was Sandra - set off on their journey. Monsters almost caught them countless times, but their skills and cunning kept them safe.

As they traveled, Dante found himself growing closer to Sandra. She was a skilled fighter, and he admired her determination and spirit. He began to see her as a partner in more ways than one, and he wondered if he could use her to achieve his ultimate goal.

Finally, they reached the cave Dante had spoken of. "Is this it?" Sandra asked, her eyes wide with wonder.

"Yes, this is it," Dante said with a sly grin. He led her into the cave, staying a few steps behind her at all times.

As they approached the center of the cave, Sandra gasped in awe. In front of her was a pentagram, with countless runes and symbols etched into the stone. "What is this?" she asked, her eyes wide with wonder.

Dante stepped forward, a distant look in his eyes. "This is just business," he whispered, his voice devoid of emotion.

Sandra's eyes widened in shock as Dante moved towards her, his hand outstretched. Before she could react, he pushed her into the center of the pentagram, and everything went black.

When Sandra came to, darkness surrounded her. She tried to move, but found that she was bound by some unseen force. And then she saw Dante - standing before her with a wicked grin on his face.

"There are no heroes," he mumbled, his eyes gleaming with determination. "Only those who are strong enough to survive".

Saying that, he swiftly took out his rusty sword swing it in one motion at the thrashing Sandra, decapitating her. The last thing she saw before the end was Dante's dastardly face and the red gleam of the pentagram lighting up.
