Frustration welled up inside Sophia as she struggled to comprehend their inaction. Darren, with his formidable abilities, should have been able to summon his Mandragora to disrupt Alice's spell or break free from the Shadow Bind with ease. And Liam, armed with his ax, could have at least attempted to struggle against the shadow's hold or dodge its grasp. Yet, they did nothing. They simply stood there, resigned to their fate.
