Miguel’s POV.

“This isn’t a war we are prepared for,” the elder council member ground out from across the room.

The conversation hadn’t even begun, and he was already battling against the idea of the incoming threat.

“I’m afraid it’s a conflict we can’t avoid,” I said harnessing every ounce of restraint I could muster addressing the older wolf in front of me.

“Who says it has to be a conflict,” a younger wolf said next to me. Craning my neck to face him, I sat in stunned silence as I waited for what else he had to say. “This is a personal matter between our Luna and her family…”
