A new dungeon discovery (11)

"So this is the cursed corpse you didn't finish off huh?" Tess said looking at the still regenerating cursed corpse that was laying on the ground.

I didn't reply because I needed to ignore the corpse in general if I didn't want to die from being struck by the heavens.

"I thought you said you would ignore me so why *crk* aren't you being struck by the heavens lightning?" the cursed corpse said with fear creeping up in his voice.

Still I didn't reply.

"Hey I am trying to speak with you so shouldn't you reply? *crk* you're the one that wanted us to swear to the heavens so let me go!"

"You realise she swore to ignore you so isn't she following what she swore?" Nova let out a small chuckle and continued, "You were going to die regardless."

Tess stabbed the cursed corpse in its crystal heart and kicked the corpse away.

"Where are all the dead cursed corpses? I thought you killed them all?" Tess asked, looking at the area devoid of any corpses and filled with markings on the ground showing signs of fighting taking place.

I replied with a simple and short answer, "I burned them.", I wasn't wrong at all because I did burn the corpses but normally you would expect ashes or something remaining after being burnt but I had left no traces at all.

"Where is the ash? Wait, that's stupid, it must've been blown away. Sorry for the stupid question." Terry said, sighing lightly before walking towards the last group consisting of Mio, Iris and Adam.

"Let's help the last group out though I doubt they are still fighting." Terry said.

"They've finished already, they defeated all the corpses before I arrived at your group." I said, checking with [Mastered spacial awareness].

"And you know this, how?" Terry asked.

I ignored him and went to the front, leading the group to the others.

"Haha, look, I knew it was too much for Kiera to handle! You should've listened to me, Kiera, You're lucky that Tess, Nova and Terry got to your area before you got hurt." Adam said, looking at our group approaching.

"*pft* hahahahHAHAHA" Tess burst into laughter, tearing up, "HAHahaha.. *phew* That's cute you thought we protected Kiera, she finished killing the cursed corpses in her section before both of our groups and killed most of the corpses in our area, not to mention she protected me as well. Dont assume things, I'll just laugh again. Oh not trying to be rude or anything though."

"I can't believe that, sorry but that's not possible, she is a first year for starters and went in solo. Mio and Iris, if they team up will win against Kiera so if they are paired up then they will kill the corpses quicker, in addition to this I am part of this group helping them." Adam spoke in complete confidence, "You're just trying to save face."

"I don't think Mio and I would be able to win against Kiera." Iris said, "She is stronger than you think"

"I'm going to have to agree with Iris on this one." Mio nodded.

"You're just being humble, spar with each other, I don't believe it for a second." Adam said, still denying it.

"Is it necessary?" I asked.

'I don't believe it is relevant for us to spar at this very moment. We should be going to find the boss if anything.' I thought to myself.

"Why do you ask? Are you not confident in yourself? You're just solidifying my point."

"If Mio and Iris agree then why not. I don't really care but after the spar we are going to the boss." I said looking at Mio and Iris, standing side by side.

They both nodded and took out their weapons.

"Begin when you are ready." I said, Adonis by my side, tip facing the ground with [Flames of destruction] engulfing the whole blade's length.

Mio and Iris shared a quick glance at each other before Mio leaped forwards with her daggers in a reverse grip. Mio reached me fast and slashed diagonally upwards with one of her daggers before doing the same with the other. I blocked both with some small, quick movements from my sword and kicked Mio, sending her skidding backwards. She wasted no time and cast a quick spell on her daggers, enhancing their durability and sharpness with her earth magic and created big spikes of earth underneath me and around me.

I jumped up into the air, avoiding her dagger swing and her earth spikes, before landing on the sharp tip of one of the earth spikes. In actuality, I didn't step on the sharp pointed spike but on a small, unnoticeable platform of air that I made just above the tip.

Mio leaped at me while creating a ramp of earth under her feet to get to me while Iris wunt round behind me to use a surprise attack.

'Mio is preparing a spell, a boulder being created above me, around 12 earth bullets, and a mass of dust to block my vision while Iris appears to be trying to make ice encase her sword and encase my body, making me immobile. Not too bad.' I thought as I used a skill from the skill set [Flames of destruction].

"[Flames of destruction: beam]" a beam of black flames went zooming towards Mio in an instant and I moved my sword behind me, over my shoulder to block the strike Iris sent at me.

The sound of screeching metal from swords coming together surrounded us as Iris tried pushing my blade away but, due to me being stronger, failed miserably.

I felt Iris's ice begin to surround my feet and spread upwards so I sent some of my flames down to it and melted it in an instant. While this happened Mio had to prepare multiple layers of defences to block the beam, the beam though continued pushing forward through the defences prepared and before colliding with Mio i used [Flash steps] and appeared before her, dispelling the beam and placing my blade by her neck.

"I've lost." Mio said and left Iris and I alone to fight.

Iris sent multiple small ice needles at me, aimed at my vitals and made weapons of ice rain down from above.

"[Flames of destruction: Engulf]" As I said those words each and every projectile sent at me got consumed by my flames. I jumped at Iris and swung my sword down, hitting against Iris's sword which she swung upwards to block.

'Strong!' Iris thought as she felt her arms tingle at the impact, slowly growing numb.

I kicked at Iris to which she dodged by side stepping and slashed my sword away. I quickly changed the direction of which my sword was moving by using the strength Iris used to push away my sword and redirecting it to go in a horizontal slash across her abdomen.

Iris jumped backwards so I followed her movements, exchanging multiple different moves without swords before I finally stopped, letting Iris breath a bit before appearing behind her with [Flash steps] and kicking her back. Iris fell down from the strength I put in and landed on all fours.

I placed my sword next to her head and said, "You've lost. Thanks for the fight" before helping her back up.

"Yep, my loss. See Adam? We are weaker than her so stop belittling her."
