She was hard-working, to live in such a harsh environment…

Someone as delicate looking as her…

Clenching my hands, I resolved to get her out of here, if not for my revenge, at least for her, as her most trusted aid and someone she could entrust her life with, I shall do my best.

Noel's eyes were determined fiercely at that moment as she got another goal aside from her revenge.

That is to get her lady out of this dirty place and provide her with a comfortable life.

…and also, if possible, marry her.

Noel shook her head as she tried to push such thoughts away for now as she had more important things to focus on for now.

As they continued with the business they gathered more and more money daily, her biscuit making techniques were extraordinary, and even though I don't know much about cooking and stuff, just by looking at Lady Eve's techniques, I could conclude they were far more advanced than the ones used even in Nobility's dinners and luncheons.

I wonder where she got access to such techniques, I guess, it comes with her beauty that she is far more knowledgeable than any demon… I must not underestimate my mistress.

Her knowledge is beyond me…

The workload increased as well so Lady Eve asked me to look for potential workers she could use.

So, I went to search for such demons.

I, of course, won't just pick up any beggar here, I needed someone who could be of use to lady Eve.

Loyalty is not an issue as I would just need to make them loyal before presenting them to lady Eve.

I found such workers soon.

Two identical-looking demons, one with white hair and soft feature while the other with blue dark hair and rough features.

They were twins, scraping through the garbage probably searching for food, their stomachs were growling and tears were visible in their eyes

Yet, they didn't give up and continued searching desperately.

I didn't know what I saw in them as most children alive here were similar to them but something attracted me to these two.

I sensed some kind of familiarity from the blue-haired one while the grey-haired one exuded a sort of mysterious vibe around her.

They didn't notice me until I was right behind them.

They both stumbled backward and fell into the trash.

The blue-haired girl hugged the grey-haired one while looking at me cautiously.

I peered into her eyes as she did the same.

Manipulating the mana around me, I focused on my eyes as I scanned them again but this time many things were clear.

Using mana in such a way and focusing them on our eyes could make us see things that are hidden from the world.

It was a special technique of her family, accessible to only descendants of the family.

I learned it from her father.

The mana around them was intense and above the level of some rat living out here.

They had the same amount of mana as any noble kid despite being here.

Were they nobles as well?

Especially, the grey-haired girl, her mana was absurd for someone her age, she seemed to have more mana than me even though she looked younger than me.

I was training daily to increase my mana pool so I had this much mana but this little girl hadn't trained at all yet she had more…

They were diamonds in the dust.

I asked them how they got there, initially, they didn't seem to answer me but a little force and some food were all it took to make them spill the truth.

They were chased out of their house due to a lack of food and more members in the family and hence they ended up here.

I offered them food and told them they could make a living just by being loyal to a certain great demoness.

They were tearful as they finally saw some hope to live.

Food was a luxury for them so they were shocked I offered them so much free food, while it wasn't that much, but, to them who didn't eat anything much since birth, it was no less than a feast.

Before taking them to Lady Eve, I decided to instill some beliefs about Lady Eve in their heads and make them aware of her great existence so they could show proper loyalty to her not food.

It took some days as I brought them to my training area before presenting them to Lady Eve.

When I felt satisfied by their loyalty towards milady without even seeing her, I took them to her and presented them.

Lady Eve was happy and it made me feel proud.

She took those two in.

Later, she asked me to train those two as well which I agreed happily.

More protection for Lady Eve is always welcomed.

I realized something after a few days of training them, that, the Ivy was similar to me to some extent.

She was very adept and compatible with strengthening magic and her speed for learning my techniques was great.

She was a natural martial artist.

Iris leaned towards magic which she learned from Lady Eve herself.

'Damn, she was spending more time with her than me.'

Her eyes had a certain craziness with which she gazed at Lady Eve.

Although, Lady Eve might not have noticed this, but I certainly did.

Iris was getting obsessed with Lady Eve and magic… initially, her obsession was limited to magic only but with time, it involved milady as well.
