Light and Blood

Where to hide when chaos threatens public safety and soldiers cannot be trusted?

For normal people a factory far away from the city is the best option, bringing food to that place that few people can enter.

The workers of course must be smart if they think this way.

...

It was already past ten o'clock in the morning when they arrived at the power facility ready to try to restore power to the central base. The reason they didn't do it before was because they didn't need much electricity, but now with the new transformation of the base it was necessary.

Many were hungry because it was almost noon, so Airon indicated that it was a good time to eat something, and if something unexpected happened everyone should at least have energy to escape from that situation.

Tick tock tick tock!

Some people got out of the modified RV and expertly let the walkers in the vicinity approach them and then naturally made groups of three to disperse and clean up the place.

Most of the people who left the base with him are the ones who went with him to Washington, and can be said to be elites in survival in this world.

The rest were the women that Airon agreed to have come, since he had agreed, he couldn't stop them from accompanying them.

But there was something Airon expected and it wasn't that he cared either, if they died it would be their own responsibility. Airon had saved many people who had originally died a long time ago, if they didn't want to live, he didn't care if they died either.

There were people who were useful and others who were not, since Lori did that Airon stopped caring too much about the survival of useless survivors who only cause trouble.

And as expected, at this moment they noticed the walkers moving around them and they all went towards the groups that dispersed, all of them just stood there watching the wonderful performance of the other people. Although there were only two groups, the cooperation was quite tacit.

All of them could only stay in place and wait for everyone to finish as they feared causing trouble, now a large safe area had been cleared around them.

"Remember not to use ammo if you don't have to, a group stays in the modified RV to guard it from the inside and keep us informed if you see anything abnormal."

A group of people entered the first building which was about ten stories without much trouble. After everyone entered the main lobby, Airon signaled for the people in the back to close the door.

The door of the power company is not closed, and obviously there are some messy footprints on the dusty floor, everything seemed to indicate that these footprints were from walkers.

Right now the door was opened, so there must be undead inside or survivors. And if an abnormality happens outside, no one would be able to get inside in a short period of time.

There was also a thick layer of dust on the floor of the room, and the sunlight shone through the glass into the room, and through the rays of light, a large amount of dust raised by the crowd could be seen in the air.

"There can't be anyone in this place..."

Rick walked in front of the team and wiped a bulletin board behind the reception desk with his hand, revealing the unclear floor structure map that was originally covered in dust.

He wiped with his hand and his entire body was instantly covered in dust.

"Ahem, this is the cafeteria, the possibility of survivors should be the highest."

Pointing to the diagram of the structure, he shows that the tenth floor of the tallest building behind is the company cafeteria.

"So what are we waiting for?"

According to the instruction map, they should go up to the fifth floor here, and then go through a corridor connecting towards the other building which was a strange thing to see.

"All right, put on masks to avoid any kind of trouble!"

Airon and the others had the most advanced armors of their organization, it can be said that among all Airon's armor was the most peculiar. From the mask to his body they were dark black with some gray parts indicating his rank, there were two long machetes on his sword, knives on his waist, a pistol on his chest with several magazines and several magazines for his special rifle.

This type of rifle was an Fn P90 with laser and silencer, in addition to its sight that gave him great advantages in closed places. This type of weapon was being produced for use in close quarters operations.

The building was extremely quiet, with only the light footsteps of a dozen people. Rick looked at the rooms on either side of the corridor, and couldn't help but think of the scene at the military base in his mind, and his footsteps stopped . .

"What's going on?"

The rest of the people soon realized something was wrong with him, and Airon asked quietly, but soon they saw Rick reach out and close the open door next to him.

"Let's close the places we've already checked..."

Everyone understood what he meant, and they all walked around, closed the open door, and then carefully made their way down the hallway ahead.

When they reached the staircase at the end of the corridor, all the doors behind them were closed.

Surprisingly, there were few walkers in the building, and no walkers were encountered all the way to the stairwell on the next floor.

Once he entered the stairwell, the surrounding light became quite dim. There was only one window on each half floor, but the direction of the stairwell was not the sunny side of the building, so the light coming in was not enough.

"Turn on your lasers and the rest of you walk far behind the main group!"

Not everyone had the main equipment, Airon believed it was unnecessary for inexperienced people like Amy to wear this suit so valuable and uncomfortable for her, so only the most experienced people used it.

With his mask completely covering his face and providing him with light, Airon once advanced into the darkness did not join you in a hurry to move forward. Taking a knife from his vest, with the back where there was no edge he began to constantly hit the metal railing and the metallic sound generated a striking noise.

The sound also spread in the silent stairwell forward, reaching the top floor in an instant, and was reflected by the wall at the top of the building. With the resonance of the railing, the sound in the corridor was loud for a while.

Abraham and Daryl were right behind Airon, and with their masks they could see several figures appearing in the corridors so they walked slowly towards them without apparent fear or care.

"W-1 class walkers ahead, there don't seem to be any dangerous anomalies in this building!"

There were indeed walkers in this building but what relieved Airon was that they were just normal walkers.

Stepping back a few steps unhurriedly, the weapon lasers pointed forward and without Airon's command none were allowed to fire.

Airon sheathed his knife calmly, looked at the walkers and knelt down so the people behind could shoot more calmly and after a few seconds he ordered, "Let's eliminate targets!"

Bang!

Bang Bang Bang Bang! Bang Bang Bang Bang!

The walkers fell to the ground one by one in a few seconds, and this sudden tension of gunfire, lights and also in the dark caused several women who had not come out since they arrived at the central base to panic.

There were even some who let go of a group, but then realized it and shut their mouths immediately.

Airon, who shot, just looked at the women and said nothing, he didn't have time to be distracted by this sort of thing for now. But when Amy realized that Airon had looked back, she felt very embarrassed. Earlier he had said she was ready, but she proved how canary she was in no time.

But how could the people up front all have time to pay attention to each other's behavior? By now, more than a dozen walkers had already fallen from above, piled up like logs in front of the group.

Some of the walkers who were wounded in their knees so that they would avoid the walkers from behind, were the only ones left. It was then that Daryl and Rick drew their knives, and under the protection of Airon and the others advanced towards the crawling walkers killing them in short order.

"Let's keep moving!"

Seeing that the danger had dissipated, the group of people continued up the stairs. Every time they passed a floor, Airon used the same method to attract the walkers, or he would make a hand motion to stop everyone from making noise and check for sounds coming from the closed doors before opening them and checking visually.

So with this method of advancement, there were no surprises along the way.

Some people quickly reached the fifth floor. The sky corridor leading to another building was in the center of the building. They had already seen crowds of walkers in the corridor along the way.

"Damn, so many!"

"What should we do, are we going to kill them?"

Ignoring the questions of several team members, Airon carefully scanned the corridor structure.

When his eyes landed on the side wall of the corridor, Airon made the best decision considering the performance of some people within the group.

"Do not move from this place..."

After leaving this order, he bowed and walked crouched down towards the entrance of the corridor that connected to the other building and that right now was full of walkers.

There must be a door sealing both corridors from the entrances to the ends!

If there is no door that can seal the corridor, there was no choice but to eliminate those walkers in the corridor. Walking with that idea in mind, Airon saw a walker standing a meter in front of him staring at a motionless door, so he took a dagger and attacked.

The dagger in his hand pierced the walker's head silently, then he stretched out his hands and slowly laid the walker's corpse on the ground.

In fact, there is a door in the corridor hallway, but the door is ajar at the moment, and there are three walkers standing by the door, wandering from one place to another.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, he knew that he can't shoot in a place like this, even with a silencer, the shots are loud and likely to attract the walkers in the corridor connecting the two buildings. Once the walkers get close, the door won't be easy to close. After thinking for a moment, he turned his head and pointed to Daryl, signaling him to approach.

"You and I will kill them by throwing knives."

"Aren't there three of you?"

Airon took two daggers one each way and smiled arrogantly. Seeing Airon's arrogant look, Daryl also took two daggers and said, "In case you fail I'll try too."

Of course, Airon smiled expecting this from Daryl. Ready, the two moved their hands and the four daggers pierced the heads of the three walkers, and the three walkers fell to the ground but two of them had double daggers in their heads.

The sound of the walkers falling to the ground also attracted the walkers walking behind the door, but the sound was not loud, only the few closest ones turned their heads and looked.

By this time, Airon had already rushed over and quickly ran to the door.

Boom.

The door was tightly closed and Daryl, who was following, quickly leaned his shoulder against the crack in the door.

Click!

There was a locking sound, and Airon quickly closed the door, and the walkers in the hallway began to move, all heading towards the door where the two of them appeared.

Darryl let out a sigh of relief, but just as he was about to release his strength, he felt a push from outside the door, and the door was pushed open slightly by this force.

Daryl instantly became alert, knowing there was a problem as the door seemed to open since it wasn't closed properly.
