Roshi vs Raditz

Raditz flew down before Roshi's eyes, his landing caused the wind to blow sand around the island.

The great ape then slowly began shrinking with Bulma still on his shoulder.

* Growl *

As he shrunk back down to his human size, she went from sitting on his shoulder to landing while having her arms around his neck.

It was a completely smooth transition, Roshi gave it a 10/10.

Clearing his throat Roshi spoke slowly.

" Ready Raditz? I am going to attack. "

Raditz also got ready and powered down to 140, a single digit above Roshi.

It wouldn't be much of a technique honing fight if he just one shots through sheer power.

Roshi didn't speak anymore and swiftly closed the gap between them.

* Siwsh *

Raditz easily ducked down, he was not attempting to hit Roshi at all, he was doing exactly what his goal was.

Practicing instinctual response, Raditz had it all, the basics, techniques, Roshi's 300+ years of fighting experience.

And most important of all, his Saiyan heritage, he was built to fight, be it tenacity or power, he had everything.

The warrior instincts played a massive role for Goku too, this was one of core reasons he mastered ultra instinct so quickly.

* Siwsh *

Raditz knew Ultra instinct wasn't a joke, forget mortals even gods and angels took eons to attempt it.

Even after that gods did not fully understand how it worked, even Whis was shown to mess up and step on shit.

" Ha! "

Again dodging a well placed punch Raditz's arm instinctively moved and hit Roshi back.

* Bam *

Roshi skid backwards from the blow, but immediately regained his balance and lunged back in.

' I think I am getting the hang of this. '

Thought Raditz, he was going through exactly what Goku had, but in his own special way.

A combination of experience, correct teaching and most of all his inherent nature as a warrior race was accelerating his progress.

Just like Goku, he would have it down pat soon, it wasn't easy but it would take nowhere near the eons gods usually took.

" Hah! "

But Raditz was taken off guard as Roshi bulked up mid lunge, his power going up with it.

* Boom *

And this cost Raditz his balance as he was punched up by Roshi's bulky body.

" Kame hame "

Hearing the iconic chant from the original creator of the attack, Raditz immediately rolled mid air and put his hands before him.

" Haaaaaa! "

" Uuuugg. "

Raditz's body wasn't able to take the attack at his 140 strength as he was flung upwards.

Roshi in his buff form was 210 on top of that kamehameha hits above it's base level, just like the special beam cannon.

" Aaaah! "

Ignoring instincts Raditz had to use his mind again to move out of the way and fall back down.

He huffed slightly, and the master put his hands behind his back.

" First lesson, don't fight instinctually until you have fought so many battles that you can fight in your sleep. "

Roshi immediately demonstrated as he fell asleep right after he spoke, slowly he started snoring as well, Raditz raised his eyebrows at the spectacle.

But he still understood what the Master wanted him to do, keeping his power at 140, Raditz lunged at Roshi.

* Woosh *

And his eyes narrowed as the sleeping Roshi ducked down, and immediately in one single motion kicked up.

* Bang *

Raditz countered that and started throwing punches again and again, each attack Roshi countered with one of his own.

' He's doing all this while asleep? The old man is something alright. '

Thought Bulma as she watched the battle from the terrace of kame house.

But Raditz knew the situation better, this state was not that easy to maintain-

* Thump *

And there it was, Roshi was hit on his ribs and immediately woke up as he fell down.

" Aah that stings, I still can't do it right. "

Said the master as he rubbed his chest and got up with a slight effort.

Fixing his sunglasses he told Raditz seriously.

" See, this is the level you have to reach, I can see you have copied my experience but that alone won't do, you need to make it your own. "

Raditz thoughtfully nodded, the master was incredible, at equal power levels not many people in the universe could match him.

Even Goku and others only started to overtake him when their power levels grew bigger than him.

This was finally shown in full glory when the old man overtook all of his students in skill at the tournament of power.

" I see master. "

Raditz agreed, giving Roshi the respect he deserves, he wasn't an arrogant fool who was too proud to ask a master of the arts to teach him.

Raditz knew this was as good as it gets before he gains an angel's assistance, Bulma's help would also come as well, boosting his power quite a bit.

" Should we continue? I have much to learn. "

Roshi didn't speak and put his hands behind his back again, signalling Raditz to come, Bulma got comfortable on the terrace as well.

Raditz smiled and flashed forward once again, he was going to continue this for at least a little while, before he goes off to search for Oolong.
