Chapter 5

"Sorry, I'm not in the mood for tea" Amanda walked away

Crash! Shannon slipped into something invisible and fell down.

"How could you! I only want to offer you tea but you pushed me! I didn't know you were so cruel!" Shannon cried

I stared at her blankly.

"I can't even touch you from here" Amanda replied

"Shannon! Why are you so rude to your sister!" Sabrina scolded and looked at me,

"I'm sorry. Shannon is just not in her mood lately-"

"It's fine." Amanda cut her reasoning, and turned to her father,

"Father, I'll be going first."

"Wait," Sabrina cut in,

"You have to drink some of this ginger tea. Shannon made it specially for you."

"Sorry, I don't like ginger tea ma'am" Amanda replied coldly.

"Amanda, I still have something to tell you" Simeon said,

"Make it quick" Amanda replied impatiently.

"I've been planning on our marriage with Sabrina. What do you think?" He said excitedly.

What Simeon didn't expect was the reply Amanda gave.

"I don't have any position for that. Why don't you ask grandpa?" Amanda calmly said.

"You know he doesn't agree" Simeon reasoned acting sad.

Simeon knew that Amanda had a kind heart and want to make him happy. 'Just a little acting can catch that naïve heart'

"Not my problem" Amanda replied and went straight to her room leaving Simeon shocked at her reply.

"Don't worry Simeon. I'm sure she's just tired. Let her rest for a while then we'll talk about it." Sabrina coaxed.

"Maybe you're right" Simeon kissed her cheek.

"If Amanda agrees. What if Nicholas don't?" Sabrina asked concerned

"Amanda is the apple of my father-in-law's eye. If she begged him, he'll have no choice but to agree" Simeon explained.

"Why do we need that old man to agree? Can't we just get married without his approval?" Sabrina wondered,

"The old man controls and handles the company. If he knows I acted my own way he'll kick me out."

"But you're the owner of the company" She wailed

"I'm just a substitute. Selene is the owner, but before she died, she wrote a will that Amanda will take over the company once she's completed her studies."

"Damn it! You should've forced her to put the company under your name." Sabrina cursed

"Can't. Her power's beyond our reach." Simeon concluded,

"Once our plan works. The company will be ours." Sabrina chuckled

"Yeah" Simeon replied kissing her neck.
