Trouble at the party (6)

"What are you doing here?" Maverick asked.

"I am hiding. The hotel management is in on it. They wanted to kill me, so a friend told me and I ran here to hide, knowing here is a lot safer."

Maverick looked around the sitting room. It was a luxurious one. So he instructed, "find somewhere to hide and turn off the lights."

After he said that, the lady ran into the inner room and turned off the lights.

Once Maverick was alone in the sitting room, he turned off the lights and went to hide at a place he could blend with the darkness.

A short while later, he heard the lock on the door beeping. In no time, the door was pushed open. From the light in the passage, he could see a man, probably the manager of the hotel standing aside and allowing the Xu men into the room.

"Turn the lights on."

However, just when someone was about to do so;

"Pew pew…"

"Crash!"

"Whack!"
