Chapter no.36 A Melody of Death

[ Dreamland array - E4 Section]

An abandoned farmhouse sat nestled among the rolling hills, its weathered wood siding and peeling paint a testament to years of neglect. The roof sagged and the windows were shattered, their jagged edges glinting in the sunlight.

But it was the beam of light that caught the eye, piercing the sky like a beacon. It shone brightly, casting a golden glow over the surrounding fields and drawing the attention of anyone who laid eyes on it.

As the beam reached higher and higher into the sky, it seemed to almost touch the clouds, as if beckoning someone to come closer. The abandoned farmhouse sat at the base of the beam, its broken windows and dilapidated exterior a stark contrast to the beauty and radiance of the light above.

The blade of grass quivered as the wind blew through the field, its slender stem bending and swaying. It seemed almost to dance, caught in the currents of air that flowed across the open space.

But the blade of grass was not alone. A figure approached, his footsteps heavy on the ground as he walked. Hu Li's eyes were fixed on the beam of light that shone brightly in the sky.

As he drew closer, the blade of grass was crushed beneath his feet, its fragile form no match for the weight of his step. Hu Li didn't seem to notice, his gaze still locked on the light above as he marched forward, his feet pounding the earth with each step.

" Either this is a trap or some fool is cultivating in this place."

Hu Li stood at the edge of the well, his eyes fixed on the beam of light that shone from its depths. It was an otherworldly sight, the light reaching up towards the sky as if trying to touch the very heavens themselves.

As he gazed upon it, Hu Li saw a figure lying at the bottom of the well, her body bathed in the golden light. She was a woman, he could see, and she seemed to be impaled to the walls of the wall.

Hu Li's eyes narrowed as he saw the woman lying there, her body twisted and broken.

She was alive, but barely, her breathing shallow and labored.

The wind blew fiercely across the field, whipping through the tall grass and rustling the leaves of the trees. It was a wild, untamed force, a manifestation of nature's power and majesty.

Hu Li stood amidst the chaos, his eyes fixed on the well.

As he stood there, the wind suddenly shifted, swirling around him in a vortex of energy. And in the center of that vortex, a giant scythe appeared, its shimmering blade glinting in the sunlight.

Hu Li tensed, his muscles coiling as he prepared for the attack. He bent his knees, lowering his center of gravity as he waited for the scythe to strike.

It came with a roar, the blade slicing through the air as it hurtled toward him. Hu Li was ready, his body moving with lightning speed as he dodged the deadly blow.

But the scythe was not done. It swung again, its massive blade leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Hu Li was ready this time too, his movements fluid and precise as he countered each attack.

The two clashed, the sounds of their battle echoing across the field. The wind howled, the grass bent and swayed, and the earth shook beneath their feet.

And then, with a final, mighty blow, Hu Li sent the scythe flying. It soared through the air, its blade glinting in the sunlight as it cleaved the top of the abandoned farmhouse. The building shuddered, its walls and roof collapsing as the scythe's attack took its toll.

Hu Li stood tall, his chest heaving as he watched the aftermath of the battle. The farmhouse was in ruins, its shattered remains a testament to the power of the scythe.

But Hu Li knew that the fight was not over.

" You know if you want to make a trap; don't make it so obvious." Hu Li exclaimed as he saw the shattered scythe getting launched into the air before it landed in the hands of a man who was wearing a pig mask covering his face.

Hu Li watched as the pig-masked man approached, his eyes narrowing as he saw the shattered scythe in the man's hands. He knew that this was no ordinary opponent and that he would have to be at the top of his game if he wanted to come out on top.

Without a word, Hu Li reached into his pocket and withdrew a metallic orb. It gleamed in the sunlight, its surface rippling with energy. Hu Li clutched it tightly, his fingers closing around its smooth surface.

And then, with a flick of his wrist, he transformed the orb into a spear. It shimmered and changed, its shape-shifting as it grew longer and sharper. Hu Li hefted the weapon in his hand, testing its weight and balance.

The pig-masked man seemed unfazed by Hu Li's display of power. He simply stood there, his scythe cradled in his arms, an uncanny silence coming from him.

Hu Li could see the confidence in the man's eyes, and he knew that this would not be an easy fight. But he was ready.

With a roar, Hu Li charged. He swung his spear with all his might, the weapon arcing through the air as he aimed for the pig-masked man's heart.

But the man was quick, dodging and weaving as he avoided the spear's deadly tip. He countered with a swing of his scythe, the blade cutting through the air as it sought to find its mark.

The two clashed, their weapons ringing as they struck each other with all their might. Hu Li was fast and agile, his movements graceful as he parried and thrust. The pig-masked man was strong and powerful, his blows heavy and fierce.

The battle raged on, and the two fighters were locked in an intense and deadly dance. Hu Li's muscles burned with the effort, his breath coming in short gasps as he fought on. But he would not give up, he would not back down. He was a warrior, and he would fight to the bitter end.

The pig-masked man seemed to sense this, and he redoubled his efforts, his scythe flashing and slicing as he sought to end the fight. Hu Li met him blow for blow, his spear a blur of motion as he countered each attack.

The ground shook beneath their feet, the air filled with the sound of clashing metal and the grunts of the fighters.

Hu Li thrust and parried, his spear a blur of motion as he sought to find an opening in the other pigman's defenses.

But the masked man was no slouch as he swung his weapon with all his might, its blade cutting through the air as it sought to strike down Hu Li.

The two clashed, their weapons ringing as they struck each other with all their might. The warrior with the spear was pushed back, his feet sliding across the ground as he struggled to fend off the scythe's deadly strikes.

Hu Li knew he had to find a way to turn the tide of the battle. He gritted his teeth and redoubled his efforts, his spear a blur of motion as he launched a flurry of attacks.

" First Spear Work: Al-Drago "

Hu Li's spear lit up with flame attributed to spiritual Qi as he launched his attack in an upward thrust like the rising of a dragon causing the Pig man to give ground, his feet sliding across the ground as he struggled to keep up with his opponent's fast-paced assault.

Hu Li was relentless, his attacks coming fast and furious. He was driven by a fierce determination, a desire to emerge victorious no matter the cost.

The masked man knew he had to do something if he wanted to turn the battle in his favor. He gritted his teeth and launched a counter-attack, his scythe flashing and slicing as he sought to catch his opponent off guard.

Hu Li was caught off guard, his defenses momentarily lowered as he struggled to fend off the scythe's deadly strikes. The masked man saw his opportunity and took it, his weapon arcing through the air as he aimed for Hu Li's chest.

Hu Li saw the attack coming and reacted quickly, his spear coming up to block the blow. The two weapons clashed, the sound ringing out across the battlefield.

Hu Li was pushed back, his feet sliding across the ground as he struggled to maintain his balance. But he refused to give up, his weapon held steady as he prepared for the pigman's next attack.

And so the battle raged on, the two warriors locked in a fierce and deadly dance. Their weapons flashed and gleamed, their bodies straining with the effort of the fight.

Hu Li stood panting, his chest heaving as he gazed upon the pig-masked man. The man seemed just as tired as Hu Li, his breathing ragged and his body covered in sweat.

But before either of them could catch their breath, a sudden gust of wind tore through the air. It whirled around them, a vortex of energy that seemed to come from nowhere.

Hu Li watched in shock as the wind tore through the chest of the pig-masked man, ripping him apart in an instant.

Hu Li stared at the spot where the pig-masked man had stood before he fell onto the ground, his mind racing as he tried to make sense of what had just happened.

But before he could even begin to formulate a plan, he heard a voice behind him.

" Oh, I didn't see you there."

Hu Li turned to see a slick-haired man standing atop the destroyed farmhouse, his eyes fixed on Hu Li with a piercing gaze.

Hu Li felt a sense of dread wash over him as he gazed upon Lin Lingtian. He didn't know who he was or what he wanted, but he knew that he was in trouble.

Without a word, Hu Li turned and ran. He sprinted across the field, his feet pounding the ground as he tried to put as much distance between himself and the mysterious man as possible.

But he could feel the man's presence behind him, a malevolent force that seemed to be chasing him down. Hu Li's heart raced as he ran, and his mind focused on one thing: escape.

He could see the tree line up ahead, and he knew that if he could just make it there, he would be safe. He pushed himself harder, his legs pumping as he raced to escape.

Lin Lingtian snorted as he gazed at Hu Li running away.

Lin Lingtian turned to the side, his eyes fixed on the scythe that lay beside the lifeless body of the pig-masked man. The weapon seemed to call to him, inviting him to take it in his hand. As he jumped down a d reached out to grasp the scythe, the corpse of the pig-masked man suddenly moved, swinging the weapon toward Lin Lingtian's neck with surprising speed.

Lin Lingtian blinked as he gazed upon the scythe with an attentive eye.

With a flick of his finger, Lin Lingtian removed the severed hand attached to the scythe.

Looking down at the screaming Pig masked man, Lin Lingtian couldn't help but smile.

"Your cries are like a melody composed by death. Allow me to hear it; more ." Lin Lingtian exclaimed as he flicked his fingers and dismembered the pig man's arm off.

Lin Lingtian sat in the open fields, the moonlight casting a gentle glow upon the landscape around him. He closed his eyes and let out a deep sigh, savoring the peaceful moment as he listened to the melody that flowed from his fingertips. The notes of his music drifted through the air, carried by the gentle breeze that caressed his skin.

Lin Lingtian felt as if he were at one with the world, lost in the beauty of the music that he played as the pigman's screams echoed throughout the land.

Lin Lingtian was at peace until the pigman's voice stopped forever.

" Ah, Death is truly a beautiful composer."
