Chapter 24: Tales of Woe

MAINE HOUSE

POV NATHANIEL

Mitchell and Dustin eyed us suspiciously as we made our way home. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I slung my arm around Desmond's shoulders as we said our goodbyes and walked back to the house. Desmond was quietly pouting the entire walk back to the house.

Before we walked back inside, I grabbed Desmond's face and gave him a long kiss. I could feel his disposition melt as he wrapped his arms around me.

"I had a great time tonight," I whispered on his lips. I could tell he was trying to fight a smile.

"I did as well, for the most part," he responded and opened the door. I chuckled and followed him in. I took Desmond's hand and led him up to the bedroom. It felt like the right time to have some peace and quiet to connect.

"You're not going to start me up again, are you?" Desmond asked warily.

I laughed, "No, we are done with that for tonight. I just wanted to lie with you and talk. We never really get the chance to just be together."
