Chapter 6

/You didn't need to wait for a month... shocker/

.....

I followed Jinx as she left the Last Drop as we walked into the populated streets, "You seem excited. Are you usually like this or what?" I ask her.

"I get to test out Zapper!" she says pulling out a small metal device that looked like a handheld cannon.

"Is that the so-called Firearm?"

"Sure is!" she demonstrated it by pointing it at a nearby bird and after pulling a trigger the barrel of Zapper fired and the bird was hit by an incredibly fast projectile.

"Impressive…" I commented, "Did you make that?" I asked noticing it's craft, made from scrap and decorated in small painted animals.

"You could tell? What gave it away?!: she giggled. "Hey where you sleeping?"

I look at her and say, "I don't need to rest for several days."

"Oh, so you do that Shimmer stuff too, huh?" she says, seemingly annoyed.

"I've never done Shimmer, as far as I know. I'm just built different compared to regular humans."

"You magical or something?" she jokingly asks.

"More."

"Are you actually one of those tiny fairy things, like that chick at the pleasure house?" she laughed. "Who were your mommy and daddy, huh?"

I stopped walking for a moment before walking again. "I don't know, I never met my parents, I was locked in a cage as far as I can remember." I chuckled.

Her eyes full of nonsense and jokes switched for a moment to sadness and some other barely noticeable emotion, sympathy? "Well, that sucks…" she says as her tone switches back to her enthusiastic personality from before.

"Life just hates the sweet, kind people like us, doesn't it?" she laughed bitterly.

I rolled my eyes, "I'm a monster. I don't know what you've been through, but I know, I'm as human as the beasts that stalk the shadows." I could tell she puts up her personality of jokes and humor to hide her pain.

…but I have my own problems to deal with right now. With getting chased by a cult of fuckers and a war on the horizon this blue-haired psycho is the least of my worries. "So where are we going?"

She then stopped and realized something, "Wait… where are we going?"

I groan, "Enforcers are stopping Shimmer production as well as an apparent gang."

"Oh, he means the Firelights. Bunch of losers… Though they are quite sneaky." She snorted.

"So, we have nothing at the moment?" I chuckle in amusement.

"Yep!" she says while holding her two thumbs out.

"Fantastic." I smiled for whatever reason.

I then started to walk in the opposite direction. I kept walking until I heard Jinx was following me, "You can go back to Silco. I'm going to find a place to stay in the Topside, so I can write a letter.

"Why? Is it the Undercity's disgusting scenery? Or maybe it's borderline toxic gases?" she giggled.

"Partly. But I intend to at least make some interactions with both Piltover and Zaun while I'm here, for the future." I speak.

"Not for Nox, or wherever you live?" she asks.

"I don't live there. I'm only hired by them for the moment. After I'm dobe with that I intend to travel the world for allies and power. My loyalty is only to myself." A/N /are you sure about that?/

I'm not sure why, but she kept following me. Though I suppose it was nice to have some company.

"Hey why do people love your clothes and big knife so much?" Jinx asks poking at my armor. True enough many people, mainly traders have asked if I was thinking of selling my 'clothes' or 'big knife'

"It's special 'clothes' and a special 'big knife'" I laugh, I found this really funny for some reason.

"Why? OH! Is it magical?!" her eyes sparkled.

"Very. Not only is it magical, but it's also very rare, it's made from something impossible to naturally find." I chuckle, I don't know why but I find her company quite enjoyable.

"What do you mean?" she tilted her head in confusion.

"It's made from my own power. Only I can control it and produce it." ….. when was the last time I smiled so much?

She giggled, "How do you produce it, huh? Do you….. poop it out?!" she spoke and started to laugh uncontrollably.

"…"

That was not funny.

"Tsk." I clicked my tongue and showed her the trick. I use Ferromancy to break apart the armor around my finger, splitting it all into miniscule pieces as they fall onto the ground. Holding the now unarmored finger up to her, black and red shadows curl around my finger before hardening until they become metal.

"Magic."

"Groovy. Can you do more?" she asks.

I shake my head, "This is not a show. Are we close to a lift?" I ask.

"There's one right there!" she says pointing to a lift.

I hop in and just as I expected she did as well, "You're coming?"

"It's boring around here. Silco won't let me do anything." She says excitedly.

"Is that why you're so excited to come with me?" I ask.

"This is the first time he's actually allowed me to help him out." She pouts as the lift starts to go up.

We were silent before I decided to ask, "How long have you been under Silco?"

"Four years now?" she says as she thinks really hard.

"Is he all that you have left?" I ask quietly.

"…Yeah… everyone else died the day he took me in." she says sadly.

"I'm sorry…" I say sympathetically. I could tell she was followed by death due to my powers. The souls of many followed her, but mainly two in particular. I couldn't see them clearly, but both were boys, one skinny and the other large.

We were silent for the rest of the ride as it stopped near the Topside. I exited as I heard Jinx mutter something silently…

"Why can't I hear them near you?"
