48. You Can't Sleep Completely Bare

Mauve jumped as her body touched the water, for some reason it felt scalding hot. The water splashed out of the tub and onto the carpet as she pulled her leg out. "Vae!" She whined. "Why is it so hot?"

"It isn't princess, this is the usual temperature you bathe with."

"No," Mauve said.

"No?"

"Yes, cool it down."

"Cool it down?" Vae repeated. "I can't do that princess."

"Why not?" Mauve asked, she peered at Vae with a serious face.

Vae kept a straight face even though it was obvious that it was taking her everything not to burst into laughter. "Because," she said slowly. "I don't have any lukewarm water to mix it with unless you want to wait for it to cool off. I could go get some if you would like that."

"No," she said and got in. She screeched a little as she sat in the tub. "My skin is peeling off."

Vae chuckled, "No it is not."

"Why are you laughing?"

"I am not, there was something in my throat."
