Telling Everyone

When the triplets finally went back to finish the second half of term, Hermione and Draco thought it was finally time to let everyone know that they were having triplets. They figured it would be best to have one reporter over to their house. One that they trusted. That way, they could tell them, and they could break the news. They had told the kids that they would do it while they were at Hogwarts, so hopefully, it would settle down before they arrived back at home. Though, they were a little nervous about how many people at Hogwarts were going to ask them questions. At least Neville and McGonagall knew already, so hopefully, that would help in controlling the children.

"Welcome, Miles, it has been so long," Draco smiled at the young man as he walked into the Manor. Miles had done all of the articles about the Malfoys since Hermione had become the Minister, and they had built up a great relationship with him. They both figured he was the one to break the news to. He would tell the story the way they wanted it.

Hermione mostly didn't want people to think she could not do her job because she was.

"Hello, again, Mr. Malfoy. How are you today?"

"Wonderful." Draco led Miles into the sitting room where Hermione was waiting. They all talked a little before they finally thought it was as good a time as any to tell him.

"Basically, Miles, we wanted you to be the one to have the first crack at the story. We trust you. You have done a wonderful job on all of the stories about us in the past few months, and we think that you will be able to do something wonderful for us now." Hermione was smiling sweetly at the man and hoping that she and her husband were going to be right.

"What is it that I can do for both of you?"

"Well, we just found out some exciting news, and we want to be able to share it with everyone. Seeing as they are eventually going to find out, and we don't want to be keeping any secrets from them." Draco wanted to preface the conversation before Hermione really gave him the news.

"Well, what could be more exciting than becoming the Minster Ma'am?"

"Well, Miles, I recently found out that I was expecting." Hermione instinctively started rubbing her stomach. Her eyes sparkled as she said it, and she looked over at Draco, who had the biggest smile on his face.

"Really, you're going to have another child? That is great news, Minister." Miles started scribbling down many things so that he would remember to write about all the love in the room and how excited the couple seemed.

"Well, actually, that isn't the most exciting part." Draco took a breath.

"Can you believe that I am going to have another set of triplets?" Hermione finished her husband's thought with an even bigger smile than the first one.

"Triplets!" Miles wrote more things down. This was going to be the biggest story of his career so far, and the Minister of Magic had chosen him to make the breaking news.

"We are so very excited, Miles. We don't want people to think that Hermione won't be fulfilling her duties, which is the main reason we are asking you to write this for us. Hermione has already started making preparations for when she is gone to have our children and a little time after that. She wants everyone to know how seriously she takes her job, but also how much she loves her family."

"I do love my family very much," Hermione kissed Draco's cheek, and the three talked for a while longer before Miles went back to his office to write the article. He wanted to have this out in the morning edition of the Daily Profit. He was going to have to work through the night to make it perfect.

Ara opened the paper that morning to find the article highlighting her family. She and her brothers knew this was coming; she didn't think it was coming so soon. The article was nicely written, she thought. That would help. Along with the article, there was a picture of her family all standing together. It was all of them at the latest Malfoy ball. Her mother held her stomach lightly with one hand and had the prettiest smile Ara thought she had ever seen. Her father was looking down at the three of them and had a big smile on his face. She and her brothers were holding hands and smiling right into the camera. Her brothers looked older than her. They had been constantly growing, and she was now the smallest of the three of them. Soon enough, though, there would be three little ones in her home, and she was so excited.

"So is the article, alright?" Scorp had sat down next to his sister and was looking over her shoulder, trying to read what was written under the dramatic headline.

"Yes, it was sweet what Miles wrote." Ara handed him the paper and then went back to eating her breakfast. She was ignoring at the moment the number of eyes that were slowly making their way over to stare at her and her brother. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to leave them here all alone to explain this to hundreds of children.

"We are just going to have to ignore this, alright, Ara." Hyperion had made his way to the Slytherin table. Along with Mary, Hugo, and Lysander.

"So don't you think your parents could have told this guy that you three were excited. I mean, that is what everyone is going to ask you. They are going to be like, is this how found out?" Lysander was rambling on about other topics when he finally sat down. The extra company that Ara and Scorpius got, Ara, noticed that the less and less eyes were on them. She smiled at her friends and thanked them with her eyes. She hoped this was going to help. She didn't want to explain that she was, of course, happy to be getting more siblings so many times.

Hermione also noticed many eyes were on her when she walked into the Minister that Monday after the article was released. She didn't really pay them any mind. She was more than happy to talk to people about it if they actually came up to her to talk to her, but they just stared at her.

"Congratulations Ma'am." Marcus handed Hermione a small present and smiled when she hugged him.

"Marcus, you already knew about this. You didn't have to get me anything now that everyone else knows."

"Well, actually, I have had this since you told me, but I didn't think it was appropriate to be giving you baby gifts when everyone didn't know."

"Well, thank you so much." Hermione almost dropped the present when she opened her office door. Her entire desk looked as if it was filled with presents. Actually, almost everyone available space in her office was taken up by presents.

"Those have been coming in all morning. I wasn't sure what to do once they filled your office. I sure am glad you are here. Perhaps we can call Draco, and you can start opening them now."

"I can't open them now. I have work to do."

"Come on, Hermione. People are excited that you are having triplets. They just want to show you that they are going to support you. You should start opening them. I can get a quill and a piece of paper. Then I can jot down what people got you. I'll make cards for everyone, and you can sign them. They would be so thrilled if they got a letter from the Minister thanking them for what they got you."

"You are right, Marcus. Why don't you give Draco a call? We should get started if we are going to be able to get through all of this in one day."

It was a long day, and Hermione and Draco couldn't believe everything that people had gifted them. It was so nice of everyone. Hermione soon realized that many of the people staring at her earlier had sent her something, and she felt guilty the rest of the day for ignoring them. She was so moved by everything she couldn't help but start to cry when she got home with Draco.

"Dear, what's wrong?"

"I am just so happy to be having these babies, and I am so moved that so many people would go out of their way to get us something. Everything was so wonderful."

"It was so very nice of everyone. You know that they really love and respect you, Hermione. I didn't doubt for a second that they were going to worried about you or the Ministry. This just shows that that is true."

"I love you, Draco."

"I love you too, Hermione."
