Chapter 11 Fortress City of Ankan

" When will we ever reach the city? We have been traveling for 3 days since the port city."

Cynthia groaned, throwing away the wet towel back to the carriage while looking around with an exhausted face. Her face skin was dried by the extreme dryness of the desert and her clothes were filled with sand. Although the fortress was relatively near to the port city, the 3 days of traveling were no joke.

On their first day, they found the oasis and the day after that they found the ramen settlement, but to her surprise, it was getting hotter with each passing minute because they were getting away from the ocean.

This was the ultimate domain of the sun and desert. The divine energy of water almost didn't exist here, so the center of the desert had an extreme hot climate.

" Soon we will reach the city. Miss, didn't you buy ice attributed artifact to cool yourself down?"

Agam asked while munching beef jerky in his mouth. Compared to others, he was used to the hot climate due to his constant traveling and he felt no change. The only thing that bothered him was the sweaty shirts of women. He looked at his ample chest of Regina as he gulped.

" His eyes are entirely focused on your chest, captain."

Licht whispered, leaning back to the wall of the carriage. His words seemed to awaken Regina as she smirked with a serious face. She silently lowered her bosom, pulling out her pistol from her belt. She put a rubber bullet in her pistol, shooting at his chest which sent him off from his camel.

Bang, drop*

Agam got up from the ground like he didn't feel anything even his chest was red from the bullet. He dusted off his clothes while combing his hair with a comb, grinning with his signature look.

" Thank you for the treat."

Before he finished his sentence, a bullet was inserted into his thigh, making him stumble again.

" Bahaha, you never learn don't you, Agam? You are the only innocent man who managed to annoy our captain."

Daemon laughed, wiping his tears with his sleeve. Honestly, Regina doesn't touch innocent people or even shoot, but Agam repeatedly managed to piss off this iron-like woman which impressed him.

" Now, he doesn't need to see me."

Regina blew off her pistol while putting it back. She pulled her new cowboy hat down, enjoying the cold air that came from Licht's body. Although she sweats from the hot, cold air also cooled her down, thus she could take a nap before reaching there.p

Mikael pulled Agam from the ground, shaking his head with a helpless look. No matter how many times he warned him, Agam didn't know to give up.

" I feel the airflow is changing. There seemed to be a large hill or thing ahead of us."

Leah reported with a calm tone when she saw Licht who was petting Chono. The hawk was sleeping on his lap and he seemed to be refining his mana. The most interesting thing was only she could tell Licht was absorbing divine energy to strengthen his body and soul.

" Sigh* He is doing it again."

She shook her head with a helpless look because she noticed Licht's physique was unique way before. Even now his freak body was absorbing energy like it was a bottomless deep pit.

" He really is a monster in human skin."

Agam muttered, feeling iffy about Licht because he was able to tell. As a life bringer and a descendant of the glorious king, he had one of the highest talents in the world, granting him the ability to see others' souls.

" We are near the fortress city. I will say once again we need more supplies and items for the next city because the next city is quite far away from here."

Agam spoke loudly whilst the wind. Licht raised his head, looking at the gigantic walls that stretched around the city. The walls were painted with white color and he saw countless canons on it, pointing down to the road. Furthermore, he also noticed quite a number of soldiers both on the wall and outside the gate, guarding the city.
