Chapter 365: Let's catch Black together! (Edited)

Fudge didn't really want Fish to hear these bad things, but since his mother, Professor McGonagall, hadn't stopped him, he didn't say anything, so he resumed what he had just been interrupted from saying.

As Fudge told the story, with Professors McGonagall, Flitwick and Hagrid, Fish and Rosmerta were coming to understand how Sirius Black had betrayed Harry's parents and the details of his subsequent murder of Peter Pettigrew and a dozen Muggles.

Likewise, these details were revealed to Harry and the others who used their extendable ears to eavesdrop.

"That Black is so mean!"

Fish punched the table, furious; even in the stories Professor McGonagall had told him, there were few villains as bad as Black.

"How dare he betray his friends! Fish will find him and beat him up nya!".

The angry kitten wagged his tail quickly and hit the chair with a series of "snapping" sounds.

"I'll hit you hard first!"

Professor McGonagall grabbed the little cat by the ear and warned him sharply, "You still dare to sneak around and do some dangerous things alone?"

"Nya!"

(? `Д′?)

This time the kitten didn't give in so easily, cocked his head to the side and argued forcefully, "It's not dangerous stuff, nya! Fish is awesome!"

"Not even good enough! Didn't you hear what Minister Fudge said? Black blew up an entire street, killing Pettigrew Peter and a dozen Muggles!"

"You don't know what you're talking about, Fish." Fudge interjected, nervously, "By blocking Black, only a trained strike force from the Magical Law Enforcement Team could stand a slight chance of winning. I was deputy director of the Magical Catastrophe Division at the time, and I was one of the first on the scene after Black killed all those men. I..."

At that point, he tensed his cheeks as if remembering something horrible and took a long, hard drink from his glass before continuing, ".... I'll never forget that scene, I still dream about it sometimes. A big hole opened up in the middle of the street, so deep that the sewer cracked. There were dead bodies everywhere, Muggles screaming. Black stood laughing, and all that was left of Pettigrew in front of him was..."

Fudge's voice was a little choppy, "A pile of bloodstained robes and some pieces of...."

Professor McGonagall and the others were also red-eyed with empathy and lowered their heads to wipe away tears.

"But Fish even defeated the Dementors that imprisoned Black, nya..."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

The kitten still thought he wasn't going to lose, he said with a pride as he rubbed his reddened ears.

Even Hagrid, who had said he was going to tear Black apart, began to dissuade Fish, fearing that the little lawless cat was really going after Sirius Black.

On the other hand, Ron and Fred were gripping Harry's arm tightly, left and right, fearing that the invisible man would run off at any moment.

Their fears were somewhat redundant, however, as the shock of the news had been so overwhelming that Harry's mind had gone into a trance and his head was now completely blank.

"I told you not to spy on people..." muttered Hermione under her breath.

"Come on, Hermione, you obviously listened with great interest."

The twins were already regretting it, but when they heard Hermione's dismissive comment, George couldn't help but say it.

Hermione, who knew she was wrong, smiled sheepishly, she just saw that the atmosphere was too heavy and she had nothing to say, otherwise she wouldn't have taken off her extendable ears until now.

Because just as she was worried about Harry, Hermione was worried about Fish.

She, like Professor McGonagall and the others, didn't want Fish risking his life looking for Sirius Black...even though they all knew Fish was as good a fighter as some of the adult wizards.

"Fish knows nya... Fish just won't go looking for Black nya..."

Fish's muffled voice came from inside his retractable ears, and it seemed that the kitten had been talked out of it for the time being.

Fish bared his teeth and rubbed his cheek, which had been brutally smacked by Professor McGonagall again, with an unconvinced expression on his face.

Professor McGonagall ignored the puss staring at her, picked up her own cup, drank the violet water from the glass, and said to Fudge, "You know, Cornelius, if you're going to have dinner with the Headmaster, you'd better get back to the castle right now."

Fudge glanced at the watch on his wrist, drained his glass quickly, and stood up.

"We must be going too, Rosmerta, my dear, I hope to see you next time."

Several people followed Fudge, stood up one after the other and walked out the door.

"Fish?" Professor McGonagall looked at the kitten.

"I'll be back with Hermione and the others nya." said Fish, pointing to Hermione and the others sitting by the window.

Professor McGonagall looked at them, only to see that Hermione and the three Weasleys were still smiling dryly with stiff expressions, Ron and Fred were even sitting in a slightly distorted position.

But Professor McGonagall didn't mind too much, after all, she was a very dignified person among the students and it was only natural for them to feel uncomfortable seeing her.

So she merely nodded to Hermione and, turning to Fish, said, "Remember what I just told you, don't go to Black alone and don't tell Harry about any of this."

"Understood nya."

The cat blinked his big green eyes and made a good boy face.

...

Harry wasn't quite sure how he'd gotten back to Honeydukes' cellar, nor how he'd gotten back to the castle through the tunnels. All he knew was that the trip back didn't seem to take long.

He wasn't paying attention to what he was doing either, as his head was still buzzing with the words he had just heard in the Three Broomsticks.

His parents had been killed because their best friend had betrayed them.

And that man...had been his godfather!

Harry couldn't get the unbelievable news out of his head for a while, and when he returned from Hogsmeade, he seemed expressionless until after dinner in the Great Hall, which worried Hermione and Ron.

But they dared not persuade Harry for fear of provoking him again.

After dinner, Harry went back to his dormitory, avoiding everyone, and searched his bedside table for the photo album Hagrid had given him two years ago, and found Sirius Black among the pictures of his parents.

After staring for a long time at the man in the photo, a different man from the one on the wanted list, Harry's disturbed thoughts began to flow, and when he regained the ability to think, the hatred he had been suppressing erupted like a volcano.

Harry closed the album tightly, bent over and put it back in the closet; then he took off his robe, removed his glasses and lay down on the bed, making sure the curtain covered him completely.

He was lying on his back, looking up at the top of the curtain with wide eyes.

"Harry?"

Ron's concerned question sounded outside, but Harry didn't want to answer, he just pretended to be asleep.

Ron hesitated for a moment at his bedroom door, but deciding not to disturb Harry, he gently left the room and closed the door behind him, turning to the twins and Hermione to discuss how to persuade Harry.

Harry was still motionless in his bed, his mind reverberating with visions of Black killing Peter and betraying his parents, his hatred deepening in his mind.

Some time later, Harry heard Neville and Ron, who had decided to stay at school for the vacations, return to the dormitory together and, after a few whispered words, they went back to bed and, before long, the room was quiet again.

The quiet of the night made Harry's mind active, and he even began to imagine about how he would torture Sirius Black after he was arrested.

Just as Harry was drifting off to sleep, exhausted from his thoughts, the curtain of his bed suddenly opened and a pair of eyes, glowing green in the darkness, hovered over the bed, staring at Harry, who had startled himself back to consciousness.

Although his face was not clear in the darkness, the unique cat eyes gave him away.

Except for the cat that came back from the night tour, it was impossible to be anyone else.

"Harry," Fish asked, lowering his voice, his eyes glittering. "You want to catch Black with Fish nya?"
