Chapter 347: Awakening (Edited)

"Well nya..."

(●Φω??●)

Fish rubbed isr eyes and sat up from his bed in the infirmary.

He saw Professor McGonagall sitting on the edge of the bed, and a large group of students behind her.

Nothing serious was wrong with Fish and Harry, and Madam Pomfrey would have been furious if there hadn't been so many people in the infirmary.

"Fish, are you okay?" asked Professor McGonagall worriedly, as she reached out and stroked the kitten's head.

"Yes, I'm fine nya!"

?(●ΦωΦ●)?

The kitten replied energetically, then rubbed his belly again and said, "It's just that Fish is a little hungry right now..."

"I have food here!"

"I've got food here too!"

"Fish will have mine first, it's a good portion and easy to eat!"

As soon as the girls behind Professor McGonagall heard Fish say he was hungry, they pulled all kinds of food out of their pockets and handed it to Fish.

Fish nonchalantly grabbed two of the most delicious looking foods and, as he unwrapped them, asked, "Where's Harry? is he okay?"

Patting Fish's head with relief, Professor McGonagall pointed to the bed next to Fish's and replied, "Potter is lying there, he's not awake yet, Dementors can have a greater effect on those who are already vulnerable."

"Oh..."

The kitten nodded in apparent understanding, chewing the food in his mouth and nodding vaguely, "Harry is indeed quite weak nya."

As he spoke, Ron suddenly shouted from the next bed, "Thank God, Harry, you're awake at last!"

Fish jumped out of bed and ran to him, food in hand, and naturally the others followed in droves.

Then, when Harry opened his eyes and was still groggy, he discovered that his surroundings were already surrounded by people.

"Harry, do you want something to eat nya?"

The kitten offered the food in his hand that was given to him.

"Huh? Oh... no, thanks."

Harry froze for a moment, politely declined the cat's offer, and sat up from the hospital bed, fighting the pain that was invading him all over....

Although Dumbledore had used his spell in time to save Harry, the situation had happened so suddenly that Dumbledore had been unable to remove the full force of the fall, so Harry had no serious injuries, just a series of small bruises and scrapes.

Seeing Harry's grimace as he sat up, Fish gave him cast a rejuvenating spell.

"Thank you."

Harry thanked him again as he felt the pain quickly fade.

Then, he moved on to the question that mattered most, "How's the game going?"

The crowd fell silent.

Only Fish shook his head, "Fish just woke up too, he doesn't know nya."

Harry's heart sank, but still clinging to a shred of hope he asked, "We didn't lose... did we?"

"That Malfoy boy caught the Snitch," Fred said through gritted teeth, "He must have secretly caught it while Fish was fighting off the Dementors - when the Dementors first appeared, I saw him with my own eyes fleeing on a broom!"

"But that's the way the rules are, the Slytherin caught the Snitch, so they win."

George added regretfully on the sidelines.

Harry buried his face between his knees and ran his hands through his hair, looking very annoyed.

His teammates were quick to reassure him.

Fish, who knew nothing about Quidditch, couldn't intervene in the matter and sat back, nibbling at the food in his hand.

With the reassurance of his teammates, Harry quickly recovered from his frustration; at least they had been champions once, so they weren't particularly upset about losing the match.

Not to mention the fact that Slytherin had "stolen" the game,

They were more upset than they felt they had actually lost.

So they all took to bashing Slytherin and Malfoy.

Some of the Slytherin girls near Fish pursed their lips in disdain, they saw no problem with what Malfoy and the others were doing.

Fish stayed out of it, though he didn't know much about the rules of Quidditch, but since Mrs. Hooch believed the Slytherins had won, it was probably permissible for Malfoy to do what he did, and Harry was too shy to give them a chance.

But the thoughtful cat made no further attempt to provoke Harry and continued to nibble his food quietly....

After a few moments of nibbling, the group soon fell silent again, and Harry eyed them suspiciously, noticing that his companions seemed to have a rather strange look on their faces, and Ron seemed to be about to say something.

A sudden sense of foreboding came over Harry, for he remembered that his flying broom...

He vaguely remembered that he had fallen off the broom and, before falling unconscious, had seen his Nimbus 2000 blown into the air by the gale, but he wasn't sure where it had gone.

"Did someone take my Nimbus?"

Harry looked nervously at Ron.

"Ugr..."

"What's wrong?"

Harry looked at this, and then that, and became even more anxious.

Ron hesitated for a moment, but answered with a groan, "Well... when you fell, it was blown away by the wind."

"And then what happened?"

"Then...it hit...the Boxing Willow."

Harry's lips contracted.

"And then what?" he asked, but feared to hear an answer.

"Well, you know that Boxing Willow," Ron said, "It...it doesn't like being hit. Just before you woke up, Professor Flivver gave it back to you."

As he spoke, he slowly bent down to pick up a bag at his feet, flipped it over and a dozen pieces of wood and twigs fell onto the bed, these were the remains of Harry's Nimbus 2000.

"Sorry, mate."

Ron patted Harry on the shoulder, and the rest of the team offered sympathetic words of comfort.

But at this point, Harry couldn't hear anything but stare at the pile of rubble in front of him.

"Minerva..."

?(●?ω?●)?

Fish dropped the food in his hands and pulled at Professor McGonagall.

"Why don't you give Harry another broom? You said you could buy it with the team money nya."

Professor McGonagall rubbed Fish's head and smiled bitterly, "That last broom has depleted the team's funds, so even if we bought one now, we could probably only afford a Sweeper Five or a Kite 260."

Gryffindor didn't have the same money as Malfoy, and it wasn't easy to buy a new broom.

"I can buy my own flying broom, and it definitely won't affect later games!" said Harry through gritted teeth after a moment of sadness.

The idea of using all his savings to buy a Fire Saeta to help the team win the tournament was quickly dismissed, but the idea of buying a Nimbus 2000 was not a problem.

It wasn't even a problem to buy a Nimbus 2001, which wasn't much more expensive than the Nimbus 2000 and was within Harry's reach.

Only nostalgia for his own broom, and his dislike of Slytherin and Malfoy, made Harry not want to use the same flying broom as them.
