Chapter 84: Lions' Friendship (Edited)

As the weather gradually became colder, the Hogwarts students donned thicker clothing, and the cat-ear hairpins they wore on their heads seemed to have wilted a bit as a result of the temperature, coming down to rest on the heads of the little wizards.

However, the little mages' heads also got a little warm effect because of this, which was a pleasant surprise.

Due to the cold temperatures, Fish has been quieter than usual and now spends most of his free time in the Gryffindor common room, curled up in his cat form by the fireplace, comfortably enjoying the warmth of the flames.

Even his evening excursions have been greatly reduced, with a quick trip to the kitchen, a late dinner with Fluffy on the fourth floor, or a quick trip to the Room of Requirement to play with the cat toys before scurrying back in front of the common room fireplace.

This has led to the Gryffindor lions spending a lot of time in the common room these days doing their homework, even Hermione and Percy, who have borrowed books from the library.

The Gryffindor common room is now as full as the library was when the young wizards, especially near the fireplace, were fighting over it every day, and only after Percy, the Gryffindor Prefect, stepped in and decided to have a random competition every day for a spot near the fireplace.

The twins set up a large spinning wheel in the common room with a round of games voted on by all the Gryffindors.

There were games like Exploding Snap, Magic Chess, and Gobstones, which were popular among wizards, as well as games from the Muggle world like Othello and Jenga.

At first, Fish didn't care much for them, but when he heard Scarhead and the others shouting during the game, he became curious and quickly learned all the games on the big wheel.

Although he didn't get addicted, sometimes Fish would join them and play a game of Explosive Snap or something.

The others welcomed it and, in the process, had fun.

"Fish, Fish, it's time to get up."

As usual, Harry woke them up early in the morning and gently woke Fish as well.

"Meow?" (=Φω??) =)

Fish stretched his paws, rubbed his eyes and got out of the quilt. As the weather turned colder, the place where he slept at night also changed from the top of the bed to the quilt.

Gently hopping off the bed, Fish rested both front paws on one leg of the bed, stretched, sharpened his paws on the wooden leg and then hopped back onto the bed, stepping on the pillows a couple of times before sitting down to begin his daily routine of paw licking and face rubbing.

Harry and the others, who had woken him up, were in no hurry to leave, and gathered around Fish with fond faces, laughing as they watched him lick his fur and wash his face.

Fish was so used to this scene that when the cleaning was finished, he transformed into his human form, picked up his wand and used it to wipe his mouth, and then happily walked out of the bedroom....

Fish was always very active when it came to breakfast, or rather, when it came to eating and having fun.

The other Gryffindors in the common room spotted Fish and quickly followed him, and as Fish's housemates, Harry and the others followed him from the start, being watched enviously by the other students....

They were very proud of themselves.

"Tomorrow is Halloween, and there's a feast tonight."

On the way to breakfast, everyone chatted casually.

Knowing Fish's hobbies, the first thing they told Fish was about the Halloween dinner.

"Meow, there's a feast!"(●?ω?●).

Fish's eyes immediately lit up, and the cat ears on his head and the tail behind him came to life.

Fish still knows about Halloween. When he hadn't gone to school before, Comey would prepare special food to celebrate each festival, and on some festivals, Minerva would give him treats.

"Halloween?"

Fish cocked his head to one side for a moment and then clapped his hands, "Is that the festival where you eat pumpkins, meow?"

Without waiting for Harry and the others to be able to answer, Fish, who had already descended to the second floor, twitched his nose, caught the aroma of roasting pumpkin coming from downstairs, and shook his head affirmatively, "Yes, meow, that's the festival where you eat pumpkin!"

Then he instantly lost interest.

As far as Fish remembered, Halloween is a fun game where he can go door to door carrying a pumpkin head and asking for candy, but he was at Hogwarts now, and he couldn't go back to Hogsmeade to knock on neighbors' doors, or at best, teachers' offices and Hagrid's hut.

Other than that, he didn't care much for pumpkin dishes, and Minerva wasn't going to give him a treat, so this Halloween party was probably no big deal.

Among Fish's roommates, Dean Thomas, the most attentive, noticed Fish's mood swings, and after some thought, he roughly guessed why, so he smiled and said to Fish, "Holiday celebrations are very different. and even if tonight's feast isn't as good as the one at the beginning of the school year, it won't be too bad."

At Dean's words, Fish's spirits rose again.

There was nothing special about the breakfast, except that there was more roast pumpkin and pumpkin soup, but that meant nothing to Fish, a carnivore, who preferred roast beef and seafood chowder.

In the morning it was Professor Flitwick's spells class, who taught a spell that makes objects fly or levitate that Fish had already learned, so he hid in his desk drawer, as usual, and slept soundly.

Aside from Fish, the students with good academic performance, such as Hermione, had already mastered the floating spell, as they had seen Fish use it at the opening ceremony and had seen him glide through the sky with it from time to time. (In fact, most of the time Fish used the 'gliding' spell from the Druid system.)

Under Fish's influence, many new students took the initiative to practice this spell, even if they failed before, they quickly mastered this spell after Professor Flitwick explained it in detail.

So when Professor Flitwick asked the group to practice, about a third of the students managed to cast the float spell in one go, and after a few practice sessions, most of the rest also managed to cast it.

Only Neville's quill remained motionless on the table, and Seamus's inexplicably caught fire.

"Seriously, Seamus, you could try applying for a job at Snap Explosive when you graduate."

Ron, who had managed to get the feather to float (albeit by a few inches), joked.

The Gryffindor students were all fairly close to each other due to the games they play every night, and Seamus took no offense to Ron's teasing as he rolled his eyes and said, "If I get the job, probably no one will dare play Snap Explosive anymore!"

He was obviously well aware of his own inexplicable explosive ability.

The young wizards around him laughed at Seamus' self-criticism.
