Chapter 20

Chen stepped out of his appartment. He'd taken a shower, and now he was wearing a white shirt, black pants, and a long black leather coat.

Since he'd been eating 6 meals a day for the last few days, he had gotten his weight back. His muscles were more apparent, and he looked in a good shape.

In front of his building, a car stopped.

"Chen, over here." Asami was in the backseat, and she waved her hand at him. "You look nice." Her eyes slipped from his face to his body. "Good to see that you're back in shape."

"Thanks," Chen said.

"Get in."

Chen got in the car, and the driver started driving.

Asami looked at Chen's face and smiled. Chen smiled back slightly.

"So, where do you want to go?" Asami asked.

"I was thinking of going to the park, would you like to go there," Chen said, not knowing if he was being stupid or not.

It had been a long time since he'd dated someone. In both lives.

But he soon relaxed. When dating a girl, you aren't trying to seduce her. Gifts and flirts aren't a thing. You just offer yourself, and if she likes you, you two are good to go. The gifts and the flirts would show your personality.

But he'd to take to count that Asami isn't like other girls. She'd been raised in a good house, she didn't have a mother.

She had a good moral code as it was shown on the TV, that she would go against her father to do what she thinks is right.

That made her, somehow, opposite to Chen, whose moral code is different. He was loyal to himself more than to an ideal.

But don't opposites attract?

"Sure." She smiled.

Chen leaned back on the seat. "This is comfortable."

She patted his shoulder. "So, tell me, how was your day? Last night, your fight was epic"

"Thanks. I guess my day was good. You, tell me about yourself."

"Nothing much. I used to help my father…" Asami started talking about herself, while Chen just sat there and listened. Asami seemed to have a good personality. She was a confident and a good girl.

Smiling and handing her the ice cream, Chen sat next to Asami on a public seat. The two of them stared forward, at the green nature. Many couples were walking around and holding hands.

Asami continued talking, and Chen gave the bare minute information about himself. He couldn't just go on a date and say 'Hey, I used to do a few jobs in the underworld and blah-blah…' so he ended up talking about his career.

"By the way, how did you end up having good bending skills? And why your flame is so different from the others."

"The man who raised me used to say that I'm talented." Chen lied.

He had no father, no family.

"Oh, who is that?"

"I don't remember anything other than he taught me what I know." If you consider the man that raised Chen is the system, then he wasn't lying, and he was probably being sexiest for giving the system a gender.

"Sorry for that," Asami said.

A little flush appeared on her cheek when she stared at his eyes. She touched her hair and pushed it back.

Those two were indicators of interest. If she showed another one, he would go for the kiss. They'd talked enough, and Chen was getting bored with the date.

Wondering about the reason for her blush, Chen noticed that both of them were sitting two close. Her thigh was against his, and she didn't pull back. Chen felt some heat running through his body, getting him into a mood where it was hard to think.

"By the way Asami, I have a question," Chen asked.

"Yeah."

"Have you ever kissed a boy?" Chen asked, directly looking at her eyes. If he didn't show interest in her sexually, he feared that he would be friend-zoned.

"No. I never dated anyone. You!?" Asami shook her head. When her eyes moved down to Chen's lips, her slight blush started spreading on her face.

Chen cocked his head. "No, but I always wondered how it feels?"

Asami raised her eyes to his, seeing that he was looking at her lips. She looked back at him.

"I'm curious too." She softly whispered. She titled her head, her face was approaching his slowly.

It was a signal.

Putting his hand behind her head, Chen leaned on her. He kissed her. When he inserted his tongue, Asami opened her port.

Chen felt a sweet numbness. Asami smelt good, and she touched well. Thinking of how pretty she was, he felt a bit of blood rushing to his groin. Asami closed her eyes and kissed back, closing her lips that slide on his tongue, before engaging in more kissing.

When they pulled back, a 'muah' sound spread.

Asami's face was completely red, and Chen had a slight redness on his face.

"That… that felt… good," Asami said, unable to complete her words as she had to catch her breath. As her blush stabilised, she smiled at Chen's face.

He had to admit, that was a very good kiss that he wanted to kiss more. Asami seemed to enjoy it, she'd kissed back stronger than he did.

"I don't know?"

"You don't what?" Asami titled her head, eyes wide open.

"I think I want to gasp more of that feeling to realise it well," Chen smirked at her.

"You sly fox." She punched his shoulder slightly. Since their heights were close, she could easily reach him for another kiss as she led him.

The date reached its end. Chen and Asami were holding hands as they were in the taxi. They were heading back to her mansion.

"So…" Asami broke the silence. "When are we going to meet again."

"You know my house, and I'll give you my phone. Call me." Chen said. Usually, he would take the girl's number. However, she was a rich girl who is helping her father run his company. He obviously would be on the hold line if he decided to be the one to call.

She smiled as he gave her his number. "I'm curious about your place."

"Please, visit me whenever you want," Chen said.

"Ahem… ahem."

The car driver faked a few coughs as he fixed the front mirror.

"By the way, my father seemed to be so curious about you ever since that day. What have you done to him?"

Chen shrugged his shoulder. "I have the same question. Maybe he's the overprotective type."

"I don't know. He's always been supportive, but I never dated a boy before. I guess you have a point."

Soon, the car stopped by Chen's building.

"See you later." He kissed Asami a goodbye kiss, before turning. The car continued on its way as Chen put his hands in his pocket.

'Yes! That went well!' Chen got his hand out of his pocket, clenching his fist and thrusting it to the sky, before hiding it again. He didn't want anyone to see him.

"I see that your date went well. I believe that you aren't willing to make me wait forever." Just as Chen was about to enter the lobby, he noticed a grey-haired woman waiting for him.

Lin Beifong was crossing her arms, staring at him with an amused expression.

When Chen looked at her, she clenched her fist and thrust it up. She just did the move he would do when he won in a pro-bending match. It was as if she was mocking him.

"Alright, enough with that," Chen said. His mood was good, and he'd had enough entertainment.

"Guess you're just a boy after all." She sighed. "Let's go. We're cornering him tonight."

"Alright," Chen said.

"Get in the car."

He knew Lin's car by this point, and he got in as he went to the road.

"So, we are going to Tarrlok."

When Lin took the driver's seat, she said. "Yes, but first, we need to meet a few people."

"Who?"

"Tenzin and the damn Avatar," Lin said, her eyelid twitching a bit.
