Weird invitation

"Do you care for other people like this?" Chris asked Sky.

He always thought he was good at reading people. But since meeting Sky, he has realized how wrong he has been. He could not read him at all.

"Why would I?" Sky asked in a serious tone, making Chris surprised.

Chris stared at him.

Sky stared back, unblinking.

"They aren't my roommate," Sky answered, breaking eye contact before sipping his drink.

Chris pursed his lips as he stared at him before scoffing. "Do you even have a part-time job?" He asked, referring to Sky's offer to take care of him.

"I do a lot of things that get me paid. There's also the pub, remember?" He reminded him.

"So... you want me to be your sugar baby?" Chris asked in a flirty tone and tucked some strands of hair beside his ear while keeping eye contact with Sky.

"Well... that is a... very sexy way to put it." Sky grinned.

Chris could not stop himself from smiling before he started laughing with Sky. This guy was stupid. So stupid. Stupidly charming. Ah! It wasn't good for him.

"So... does Rain have a boyfriend?"

As soon as Chris asked, Sky shot a brow at him; all forms of playfulness leaving his face, and he looked serious when he sat properly and gave his full attention to Chris.

 "Why are you asking?"

"I'm just curious."

"Don't even think about it." He warned.

"I'm not thinking about anything. I'm just asking."

"I don't care why you're asking. My friends are forbidden from hitting on my sister."

"Well, I'm not your friend." Chris shrugged.

"You do not have a choice. We are friends."

Chris almost let out a laugh. Almost. "Are you this... controlling?" He could not help but ask. It was quite surprising for him because, as much as he hated it, for some reason, it made him feel a certain way he didn't like. As if he kinda liked it.

"Sometimes," Sky answered.

"God, I hate you!" Chris said in frustration.

Sky gave him an innocent look as he asked, "Why do you hate God?"

Chris could not stop the laugh that escaped his lips. "I hate you. You! Asshole!"

"I doubt that. If you hated me, you wouldn't be putting up with me the way you are." He said smugly.

That was true, and Chris hated it.

"Maybe I hate myself then. Putting up with your silly attitude."

"Don't say that. I will get pissed." Sky warned, turning all serious again.

Chris was slightly taken aback by his sudden seriousness. "What?"

Sky pointed at him. "You are not permitted to hate the people I like. Even yourself."

"Oh my! You are such a crazy weirdo!" Chris exclaimed in genuine bewilderment.

Sky burst into laughter, clearly not expecting that response. "Why did you have to put it that way!"

"I'm done with you. I swear it!" He said in a very serious tone.

"Hello, handsome mens."

Chris looked up at the intruder, almost cringing. What the fuck was 'mens'? But when his eyes found the person who had said that, he didn't care if he had just been referred to as mens or womens. The dude was fine af!!!

The guy looked like he was in his early 20s, mid-20s, or whatever. He had very brown almond-shaped eyes, dark hair, and fair skin that looked like he was putting in a lot of effort to maintain them, and he smelled nice and had striking facial features. He was tall too, but not as tall as either he or Sky.

Chris didn't want to talk about how beautiful he looked when he smiled and flashed his perfect dentition. Damn! What was wrong with every guy in this city?!

"How may we help you?" Sky asked in a bland voice.

"Well, we were just there chilling and saw you and thought you both looked great." He said before opening a free chair and rudely inviting himself to join their table. Another young man approached their table and did the same, taking the last free seat. He was also really good-looking, but not like the first one, and he was also average in height but looked athletic.

"Would you like to come to our party tonight?" The first guy asked, looking at the two but mostly at Chris.

"Excuse you? First of all, we do not know you." Sky said, sounding annoyed.

"I'm Mike."

"Ken." The second guy who joined said.

"And why are you inviting us to your party?" Sky asked.

"Well... you two look... gorgeous," Mike said, turning to look at Chris.

"We were hoping you'd be willing to, like... you know. A four-way." Mike said with a suggestive smile.

Chris's jaw dropped, while Sky still looked very confused and annoyed.

"What does that mean?" Sky asked.

"Oh... you know... the four of us? Is that like allowed in your relationship?" Ken asked.

"What relationship?" Sky asked, still confused.

Chris suddenly burst into laughter. If there was anything funnier than what they had assumed, it was Sky's reaction. He looked so cute when he was confused and annoyed.

"Shit! I'm sorry. We... are not a couple." Chris said in between his laughter.

"Wait... what?" Sky asked, still lost as he looked at the three other people.

"Really?" Mike asked and exchanged a look with Ken; the two looked a bit flustered.

"We are just roommates," Chris explained.

"Wait... wait a minute!" Sky said, getting all their attention again as he put up his hand and furrowed his brows. "Were you... suggesting what I think you were suggesting?" He asked Mike and also looked at Ken.

"Oh shoot! My bad. We thought... you know. You two looked like a couple, so we... shit! Haha. I apologize." Mike said awkwardly, still looking flustered. He stood up immediately, and Ken also did, laughing awkwardly.

"We're sorry. Our bad. Ignore it." Ken said quickly before exchanging a glance with Mike, and the two left there, returning to their seats at once.

Sky's eyes followed the two, looking at them in disbelief.

Chris continued to laugh even after they left, so much so that he almost had tears pouring out of his eyes.

"You aren't mad about it?" Sky turned to look at him, wondering what he found so funny.

"Are you?" Chris asked as he tried to stop himself from laughing.

Sky frowned as he said, "That was so... disgusting."

That seemed to make Chris's laughter die down immediately.
