Chapter 31
The dinner was awful for Xiaowen. She tried talking to Zedong, but the man never pays attention to her.
Zedong was busy glaring at Meixiu, who was grinning as Xiaohui talked to her longer than before. The atmosphere at the dining table is heavy, and Xiaowen can't bring herself to eat a lot.
The dinner ended, and Zedong left as soon as possible.
"Xiaohui! Your attitude towards Zedong is not acceptable!"
Xiaohui looks at her mother and shrugs her shoulder. She put the bowl of fruits that Meixiu readied for her on the table and stands up.
"Why? Can't he see I'm not interested?"
"He's already making his move! Don't you want to be rich one day!?"
"Mom, being rich doesn't mean you have plenty of money. Being rich means your heart is full of happiness."
"That's your opinion! I want to be rich physically, not mentally!"
"Then go and marry that Zedong!"
Xiaowen stops and looks at her daughter. Her eyes became teary as she sat down on the floor and sobbed.
"My daughter doesn't love me anymore!"
"My daughter is throwing me away again!"
Meixiu shakes her head as she sighs and closes her eyes. Xiaowen is doing her tactics again.
She knew Xiaohui couldn't resist seeing her crying.
And Meixiu never agrees whenever Xiaohui forgives or does Xiaowen a favor.
Xiaohui sighs and sits down in front of her mother.
"That's not what I mean, Mom."
"Here we go again."
Meixiu said and listens closely to what Xiaohui was going to say.
"I don't know him. I can't trust him that fast."
"Then go and meet with him tomorrow!"
Xiaohui looks down and nodded. With her action, Xiaowen smiles widely and hugs her daughter.
"Thank you! Better get to his good side, ok? Don't disappoint us."
"She agreed."
After Meixiu finishes washing the dishes, she wiped her hands and went inside their bedroom. She grabs her sleeping bag and puts it on the floor.
The door opens. Meixiu already knew who went in.
"Are you going to sleep already?"
Xiaohui closes the door gently and asks Meixiu.
The taller stands up and faces her. She nodded, grabbing her pajamas from the table.
"You should sleep earlier. You'll still meet Zedong?"
Xiaohui sighed, nodding her head. She went to her bed and sat down to think.
"Can you drop me off at the company tomorrow? I'm sure Zedong is going to be there talking with Grandpa."
"Ok, sleep now."
Xiaohui went to the covers and makes herself comfortable. Meixiu looks at her for a while before she goes inside the bathroom and changes her clothes.

"Meixiu, you better not fetch Xiaohui later. Zedong will do the honors."
Xiaowen points her chopsticks at Meixiu as the girl nods and eats the fried rice she made earlier.
"That Zedong will go here again?"
Grandma Peng asks, sipping on the heated vegetable soup from yesterday.
"Yes, Ma. Try this dish. Zedong ordered it yesterday."
Zedong ordered so much food, and there were a lot of leftovers. Meixiu saw a lot of food she ate when she was still in the mansion.
She saw her father's favorite, the lobster. And she saw her favorite, mac and cheese. It's all foreign, and it's shocking how Xiaowen likes it.
Considering it's salty.
"No, it's salty and has so many chemicals."
Grandma Peng pushes the spoon away from her. Xiaowen nodded and eat the food.
"It's delicious. Why don't you and Xiaohui eat it?"
"Meixiu! Try this dish. I bet you still haven't eaten something like this."
Xiaohui pushes the mac and cheese to Meixiu as the girl takes a scoop and puts it inside her mouth.
She furrows her eyebrows as the cheese doesn't seem fresh.
"Delicious, right?"
"It's fine."
"What are you talking about?"
Xiaowen glares at Meixiu and points at the mac and cheese.
"This is the best one I've tasted!"
"Of course it is. You haven't eaten something like that."
Xiaowen blushes as she looks down and eats her food. Meixiu shakes her head and looks at Grandma Peng, who nods at her.
"And Meixiu ate something like that. In the orphanage, they treat the children with luxurious food."
"They eat delicious foods, huh?"
Xiaohui looks at Meixiu.
"Sometimes, if someone visits and donated."
"Have you met someone there? A friend that donated."
Grandma Peng puts down her spoon as she grabs her glass of water and drinks it. Meixiu stops and nods.
"Her mother donated, and she's always in the orphanage. She approaches me first, and we played together."
"Meixiu is lying. That's not true."
Meixiu looks at Xiaowen.
"It's true. Unfortunately, her mother died after a year, and she never went back."
"I don't believe you. Your probably making stories again."
"Mom."
"What? Your friends tell us that she's always making stories!"

"Sorry for what my mother said."
Meixiu looks up and met Xiaohui's eyes. She smiles and waves her hands.
"That's nothing. I'm used to it already."
Xiaohui eyed Meixiu.
"I've been hearing it ever since we are in school."
"You're not ignoring it?"
Xiaohui shakes her head as Meixiu nods.
"I can't help but feel bad for you."
Meixiu rubs her nape.
"It's nothing. Ever since I'm in the orphanage, I've been treated like that."
After speaking, Meixiu's phone rang. Xiaohui furrow her eyebrows as Meixiu brings her phone out and saw an unknown number.
"Let me answer this."
Xiaohui nodded. Meixiu walks away from Xiaohui and answers the call.
"Hello?"
"Hello, this is Alexandrite Hospital. Ms. Xie is in critical condition. She needs to be transferred as soon as possible."
"What? How much do we need? And where?"
"We would like to transfer Ms. Xie to Red Dragon Hospital. The Ren family owns the hospital."
Red Dragon?
"I've never heard of that hospital."
"It's the newest business of the Ren family. It has been 15 years since it was built."
Ren Shun had already known me since I was 10?
"Ok, I'll go there and fix it myself."
Meixiu hangs up and went to Xiaohui, who was still waiting for her beside the scooter.
"What happened? You seem in trouble."
"Auntie Xie needs to be transferred from a different hospital. I need to fix it for her."
"Do you want me to help you?"
Meixiu shakes her head. She puts her helmet on her head and looks at Xiaohui.
"I can do it. Be careful ok?"
She hops on the scooter and drives away from Xiaohui. The smaller one waves her hands a little and smiles.
Xie Jinghua is the lady who takes care of Meixiu back when she was in the orphanage. Meixiu adored her because she never looks down on her like the other staff in the orphanage.
Xie Jinghua is already old. She doesn't have any family as she grew up in the orphanage. Meixiu considered Auntie Jinghua as her second mother and she wanted to give back to her.
Now that she already has the money, she's going to make sure that Auntie Jinghua is healthy and happy.
"Are you the one I was on the phone with?"
As soon as Meixiu steps foot in the lobby, the nurse asks her. Meixiu nodded as she look at the nurse, waiting for her to continue.
"Ms. Xie is needed to be transferred today. Do you have the money to pay for it?"
Meixiu nodded her head.
"Are you going to pay cash or card?"
"Card."
The nurse ran to the back of the lobby to get the device Meixiu needed.
As she left, Meixiu went ahead and grabs her phone, dialing Yanlin.
"Young Master, is there something wrong?"
"I want you to ready a helicopter and go straight to Alexandrite Hospital."
"Young Master, are you alright?"
"Yes, just do what I said."
After speaking, Meixiu hang up. The nurse went back to her place and pushes the machine toward Meixiu.
"You can swipe your card. It will cause a million Yuan for medication and another million for transportation."
"I already rented a helicopter and they are going to be here in a few minutes."
"Ok, please pay for the million Yuan."
Meixiu looked at her pocket and saw the two cards she has. She picks out the card Yanlin gave to her.
"Congratulations! The transaction went well!"
Her phone buzzes in her pocket. She picks it out and it reveals the transaction that she made using the card.
"The hospital has a helipad on the rooftop. We can go there with Ms. Xie."
Meixiu nodded and follows the nurse, who went to Auntie Xie's room.
Meixiu was greeted by Auntie Xie, who was sleeping on the hospital bed. Two nurses went inside and pushes Auntie Xie's bed out.
