When they reached the Ghost City of Fengdu, they first noticed the bridge that was by Yangtze River. The Bridge of Helplessness

There were demons waiting on the bridge to stop people and make them prove they were worthy.  If you were good, you may pass, but if you were evil, you will get pushed into the water.

Of course, this was just a tourist attraction. The demons were just performers in costumes, and they eventually let everyone pass. 

That was for the first test, on the first arch of the bridge. On the second arch, they must go to the Ghost Touring Pass to be judged by Yanlou Wang himself. 

There were many demonic statues in this area. 

One involved that of a girl who stole flowers from Buddha, thus turning into a ghost that can't eat any of the food offerings for the dead and only flowers.
