Man in mask

At the end of class. dr.Connors stopped ethan and said "you should work hard on your biochemistry too. I need your assignment ready by the end of the week. Go and get the help of the top of second-year if you need."

"Shit !!" word escape ethans mouth, he forgot about the Connors assignment due to his training sessions. Well, he wasn't exactly weak in this subject but he was just above average. so considering his training,. Finishing this assignment in a week is going to be tough.

But then Ethan finally decided of getting some help, he heard dr. Connors bragging about how brilliant some 2nd-year students are and how they are going to achieve great things in the biochemistry field.

So now, Ethan was going toward 2nd-year class but a girl block his way outside the class and asked <hi..came to meet someone ?> it was Gwen Stacy.

Ethan glanced at her and replied "yeah, I'm here to find the star of Connor's eye. The future of human evolution or whatever that man is expecting..."

Gwen raised an eyebrow and asked "what do you want from her ?"

Ethan replied "well, i have this assignment of Connors. I can do it by myself but I'm a little tight on time so I just wanted to ask for help."

"Ok" Gwen said

Ethan frowned and asked "Ok, what ?"

" will help you." she said with a proud smile. Ethan understood the meaning and shook his head as he said "so tomorrow lunch break..." but she cut him off halfway and gave him his home address and said "come after school, my place" and left.

Ethan sighed on the thought that he have to deal with commissioner Stacy again. But then he got an idea and with a smile, he left for his class.

Peters pov...

"Ding dong..."

I rang a doorbell. I don't know why I was dragged into this but since Ethan asked for help with his assignment. I didn't refuse. When i took elevator, Ethan was coming by the stairs for some reason. he told me that we are going to study at his friend's house. which I didn't mind but when the door opened there was a man in police uniform staring at me while holding his hat. he was commissioner George Stacy.

He kept staring at me waiting for me to state my business but seeing me silent. he asked "how can I help you ?"

I stutter a little bit but before I can say anything. we heard a voice from behind "hello Mr Stacy."

"what are you doing here Ethan ?" Mr Stacy asked.

"gwen invited me to help me with my assignment. So if you don't mind can we come in?" Ethan replied.

He stared at Ethan for breaf moment. I swear if a stare could kill someone Ethan would have died few times over. After staring mr.stacy called Gwen and let us in.

Gwen came to the door. After greeting us ashe led us to her room but as we were going Mr Stacy was again glaring at us as if saying - 'I'm watching you.

'why did I even agreed to come here?' I thought.

Ethans pov...

As we reach gwen's room. she turn to me and said "i didn't know one more guest is coming." apparently she and peter were rivals, competing during classes.

"I thought I can complete assignments faster with both geniuses...haha" she didn't said anything else and justbring out some of her books.

Peter and I sear side by side and Gwen in front of us. Peter was quite nervous at first but as we started discussions about the topic of cell regeneration. they both got deep in detail, well I can understand what they are arguing about but I don't have anything to add. so I just listen.

After 4 hours of work. Peter and i left her house. Peter took taxi home while i dicided to take a walk till mine. We went our respective ways.

Before going home, I thought of eating dinner outside so I took a detour from the near restaurant. after dinner I was walking home while enjoying the view of stary night but suddenly, I heard faint goans of pain. Someone was injured nearby.

It wasn't that far. So I reached pretty quickly. There I saw a bald man trying to stab a kid with a knife. I didn't intervene because it was caught by the man who was wearing a black mask to hide the upper half part of his face.

Blood was dripping from his hand that griped the knife, the bald man tried to add force but the man in the mask didn't let go of knife and gave bald man a hard kick on the stomach. The bald man got thrown away but at tye same time man in the mask also fell on his knees. pressing a bleeding wound at his stomach (seems like a gunshot ) with his hand, from looks of it he had other injuries on him too.

The bald man stood up again and eight other guys joined him from behind. At arrival of his men, the bald man said "hand over the kid and we will give you an easy death."

The man in the mask didn't respond to the threat at all. He just stands up and turns directly in my direction and our eyes met. It got me by suprise, Because even if I wasn't using aura. my stealth was still top-notch for ordinary people to notice.
