Chapter 16: Dangerous Duel 2

After the thudding sounds stop Miku peeks out from the cover of the tree and what she sees shocks her as littering the floor of the forest and sticking out of the trees are many razor-sharp feathers all with a faint glow to them.

After a short minute or two, they slowly begin to dissipate into nothing and as Miku looks up at the Harpy she notices that other than the damaged wing it hasn't lost a single feather from either of its wings.

Miku then sighs as she complains about the situation." Goddamit another monster that can use some sorta crazy bullshit like that bear. At least this thing is weaker physically compared to the bear but there is no way I'm going to be able to catch that damm thing unless it lands."

Just then Miku notices that the harpy has repositioned itself and has started to glow again this time swooping a bit lower this time. " $#%&" Once again Miku quickly scurries away and behind cover as thuds resound out but this time her instincts scream at her that she is still in danger.

Looking behind her Miku notices that the harpy had swung around her cover and that only one wing had lost its glow before she could curse the harpy flapped the other at her sending quite a few glowing feathers her way.

Miku quickly notes that this might be her only chance to retaliate as the harpy is quite low to the ground so she decided to do something drastic, Miku charges at the harpy dodging as many feathers as possible but for the ones she can't she uses her tail to knock away or block which quickly starts leaking blood as the feathers cut into it.

The pain is sharp but Miku grits her teeth and after getting through which surprises the harpy she leaps at it her tail now useless she quickly sinks her claws and teeth into the harpy.

The harpy screeches in pain and tries to fling Miku off by spinning and flying around but her sharp claws refuse to let go. The Harpy is now in pain and desperate it decided to fly high up before slamming into the ground.

This shook Miku but she refused to let go and continued to claw and tear at the harpy hoping to kill it as fast as possible as she was in a lot of pain.

The harpy is now dizzy due to blood loss and is really afraid that it's going to die so as a last-ditch effort it quickly charges up its mana for one final attack which spooks Miku because she knows if it hits her this close she is dead.

Miku responds with a headbutt straight into the Harpy's forehead before backflipping off of the harpy and onto a nearby tree branch before she rushes for cover. The harpy is dazed not only by the loss of blood but now the headbutt fails to aim properly and fires off the onslaught of feathers too much to the right missing Miku completely.

Then like a puppet with its strings cut the Harpy plummets to the ground barely breathing as a pool of blood begins to soak the earth beneath it. Miku sees this and sighs but doesn't drop her guard as she gets close to the harpy and quickly claws deep into its skull finishing it off.
