Chapter 21: Jibaku

On top of a snowy mountain, a boy was floating above the ground with his eyes closed in a deep state of meditation.

He was wearing an orange gi and had bandages around his forehead. He was none other than Gohan, who was meditating as usual.

His last three months were extremely productive, not only because his power increased but because he learned several crucial things.

All thanks to the second wish he made to Shenron. Maybe he could have asked for something better, but he had no regrets… it was a great decision.

His saiyan's tail was around his waist, which was unusual since he always used to wear it loose... what was the reason for such a change?

It wasn't the only change, he looked taller and more muscular, which was quite normal after a year and a half of strenuous training...

But suddenly, his eyelids twitched and his tail bristled. He felt Ki rising rapidly and next to it were other powerful energies.

'That Ki belongs to Yamcha, it seems that everything has already started' thought Gohan opening his eyes and stood up after many hours sitting there.

The time had come to test his power, the fruits of his training for a year, this would indeed be his first real battle.

According to the original series, Goku should arrive in four hours. But with his wish, the minor estimated that he would come within an hour.

'Enough time to stop the saiyans, I hope Yamucha doesn't get overconfident despite his power' Gohan inquired taking flight.

He had told him a thousand times that he would never let his guard down. He just hoped that Yamcha would listen to him or it would end as badly as in the manga.

'But first I have to go find Bulma and retrieve the seed I left for her' the boy thought, 'That would give me two. Uh, that's enough'.

He had used one Senzu bean in these three months, so he had two left, and if he counted the ones his dad would bring, they would be more than enough.

Yamcha released all of his energy in a huge aura blast and charged at the Saibamen without fear, he was determined to kill them all.

He would show them the true power of him, the one he was so proud of. Surely when he came home, Bulma would be very happy.

PAM!

Yamcha punched one Saibamen in the abdomen and kicked the side of another sending him into the sky. He wasted no time and released a powerful Ki blast.

"Gaah!" The Saibamen tried to stop the attack but it was too powerful, so he ended up being defeated by Yamcha's big attack.

"One less" Yamcha declared confidently and both the Saiyans and the Saibamen were stunned by what had happened, "Aren't you going to continue attacking me?"

"Well done Yamcha!" Krillin, Chaoz and Tenshinhan shouted very happy for their friend's victory. Piccolo folded his arms listlessly.

"He beat the Saibamen" Nappa muttered somewhat surprised by that feat, but Vegeta, more than stunned, was enormously angry.

"You guys!!" Vegeta drew the Saibamen's attention, "If you lose to that bug again, I'll kill you all personally!"

The Saibamen nodded rather fearfully and turned to Yamcha without a hint of hesitation. If they didn't finish him off... they would be exterminated!

Thus, the remaining five Saibamen charged at Yamcha at high speed. The bandit was barely able to dodge two when...

Rash!

A Saibamen clawed at his abdomen ripping a piece of the dogi's cloth and Yamcha groaned in pain, narrowly missing and that attack left him distraught.

'They're more aggressive than before' Yamcha inquired, clenching his teeth helplessly at the increasingly ruthless attacks of those Saibamen.

He jumped back as a Saibaman fired some sort of acid from his head. If he had touched him now he would be dust on the ground.

"Yamcha!" Krillin shouted with the intention of going to help his friend but a Ki blast courtesy of Vegeta prevented him from doing that, "Damn you!"

"Don't get impatient, the fun is just beginning" Vegeta declared smiling at the spectacle, "That crap is finished"

Yamcha had a harder time dodging the five Saibamen's attacks. After all, their powers totaled 6000 units...

Yamcha jumped back and seeing the Saibaman approaching, he flexed his arm creating a ball of Ki gathered in the palm of his left hand.

"Sokidan!" Yamcha fired his attack but it didn't hit the Saibamen. The ball of Ki ascended guided by two fingers of the desert bandit.

And then he lowered his fingers. The sphere did the same and landed where the five Saibamen were together falling squarely into them.

A layer of smoke covered the place and Yamcha smiled more relaxed than before, but still with that hint of smugness under his dark eyes.

"He has achieved it!!" Krillin jumped excited at that victory and Yamcha turned around giving him a thumbs up, "Yeah I knew you'd get it"

"That Earthling was able to finish off all five of them with no problem, this is absurd!" Nappa exclaimed breaking the small stone in her hands.

"You've seen what I can do" Yamcha pointed out taking a few steps forward, "Now the time has come to fight you Saiyans"

"Not bad, but you should watch your back," Vegeta advised with a small smile and Yamcha was taken aback by this.

"Be careful Yamcha!!" Krillin warned but it was too late. Two Saibamen caught the bandit's arms and another two his legs.

"W-what the hell is this?!" Yamcha exclaimed trying to free himself but it was impossible. Soon the Saibaman's body began to flash.

"Yamcha!" Tenshinhan yelled in alarm.

Yamcha continued to struggle but it was impossible for him to free himself from the Saibamen's grip, he was totally immobilized by the four of them.

The Saibamen shone until they suddenly released all their Ki in a suicide explosion, also known as Jibaku, or suicide...

BOOM!

The place lit up and again the smoke enveloped the area before the astonished gaze of the Z fighters. Even Piccolo was stunned.

And when the smoke disappeared, Yamcha's corpse was present in the middle of a crater. He... had died, and with him those Saibamen.

The explosion of the four Saibamen had released a power close to 5000 units. It was impossible for Yamcha to survive this...

"YAMCHA!" Krillin yelled running towards his friend and checking that Yamcha had indeed died, and seeing that, he started crying

"It can't be... even with his great power" Tenshinhan muttered looking down regretfully and Chaoz was in the same state.

"Tsk... those useless Saibamans died taking that trash with them, hpmf!" Vegeta snorted without giving it too much thought.

"Very good! Looks like my turn has come" Nappa started to stretch with a big smile on his features, "Who's going to be first?"

Krillin was still mourning the death of his friend, but as soon as he heard Nappa's words he felt a huge fury inside him.

"Damn Saiyans... you'll pay me!" Krillin exclaimed with an intense thirst for revenge coursing through his bloodstream. He would avenge Yamcha.

Just when he was going to launch himself against the two Saiyans, a powerful Ki made an appearance leaving those present quite intrigued.

"That stupid! Despite the fact that I told him millions of times never to trust, he didn't listen to me! What a disappointment Yamcha has turned out to be"

Everyone was taken aback when they heard a voice in the sky and when they looked up they saw that it was a little boy, that was none other than Gohan!
