Small pieces of crystals that one could only obtain if they either cleared Realm Domains or after they completed Realm Games, which one could use to buy various items from Dinas' Realm Shop and increase their strengths by leaps and bounds.

...Or in the Backrooms, but to that area so far only Raven had access from all the living humans and a few others from other races, according to Dinas.

Hence, it was no wonder why many decided to collect as many Astral Cores as they could. After all, from another point of view, Astral Cores equaled power, and without any, gaining it was an arduous task to do.

However, what Raven didn't know yet, although Astral Cores meant strength the reason why the Realm Association collected them from others in exchange for large sums of Novas was not that they wished to gain more power but to keep everything under control.

They just simply wished to keep everything balanced as much as possible!
