Since their mode of traveling was randomized, Noah didn't or he just wasn't in the least bothered to care about their eventuality.
If he peered into the veils of destiny or interacted with the temporal forces of this universe to see the so-called future, then such a thing would be just boring.
He liked and savored that sense of being left out of the loop... that feeling of not knowing anything and the bunch of surprises waiting for him and his gang.
But what awaited him was truly...
"What's up with this troupe of worlds being destroyed senselessly?" Alaya showed a slight frown as the group emerged from the space portal.
As you might have guessed, the world, or rather the universe in which Noah and Co had landed was facing an inevitable extinction.
Everything was in a state of hopelessness and shambles.
Flames of a ruthless war were still burning furiously in the gloomy atmosphere.
Tall buildings were dilapidated into unsightly blocks.
The very earth below them was charred and fractured as if an unimaginable magnitude of a disastrous earthquake had befallen mankind.
"Is it just a coincidence or is it just the norm in these exaggeratively powerful realities?" Alaya arched a curious brow at Noah.
Noah put his hands behind him and said expressionlessly, "This is what happens in most realities out there housing planet busters and so on."
"I don't see the difference between this situation and the cultivation world's."
'Alaya as the Ancestral Goddess has grown to love her creation since she was the sole god of the Primal Chaos Universe. I reckon if I, an anomaly, had never interacted with the so-called set-in-line plot of 'Against the Gods', she wouldn't blindly watch her home getting destroyed.' Noah thought inwardly.
"What you say is true. But I think in terms of ruthlessness and open massacre of countless lives, the cultivation world wins in such a scenario," Alaya replied in a cool tone, her expression returning to neutrality.
She realized things on the ground were much different out there in the infinite Omniverse.
In Marvel, she chose to believe that it was a one-time thing that could ever happen but it seems she had been wrong at that time.
"Poor mortals, they are subjects to dying without even knowing the cause of their brutal deaths," Bing'er lamented, but her voice didn't carry any sentiments.
She was an existence who had lived for so long in a world that moved with strength being the only supreme ironclad rule.
So she knew feeling pity for the death of powerless ants was useless since it didn't affect her.
Anyway, that was how cultivators lived and all the goddesses could ascertain that.
Noah silently put a thoughtful expression on his face when he saw some abominable screeching creatures hurriedly fly toward them.
"What are those scary-looking monsters, daddy?" Franklin said in a terrified childish voice as his trembling small fingers pointed at the incoming swarm of alien monsters.
Sue tightly hugged the poor child in her bosom and tried to calm him down.
Sue felt an unseen pressure from those alien-like creatures since she was sadly the weakest in the group.
Noah warmly smiled at both of them, and an invisible tread of empathetic power brushed at the two which made their uneasiness evaporate.
All the other Ladies except for Alicia seemed extremely interested in these vile creatures that were presumably the cause of such planetary destruction.
"These, my ladies, are what we call paradooms. They are bioengineered soldiers of an intergalactic conquerer similar to the Purple Titan I had thrashed." Noah also held a look of interest for these paradooms as he explained their origin.
His interest stemmed from the fact he had seen these creatures from a certain Justice League animation back in his previous life.
As an avid DC fan, even though he didn't read much of the comics, he had never missed those action-packed animated movies.
How the hell could he miss seeing a badass Lord Darkseid, an insane Doomsday on steroids laying waste to the Justice League, or even an Evil Reverse Flash pulling playing around with Barry Allen?
"Although they are akin to ants in your eyes, these paradooms can be said to be a part of the symbol of hope of this reality called Superman."
"How are they a part of him?" Caizhi asked with a dumb expression on her cute face.
Seeing her like that made Noah chuckle lightly, he guessed the little thing didn't even bother to look into the science stuff of these mortals back in Marvel.
It was not like all of them had similar interests.
All in all, Noah decided to indulge them. "These mortals you deem as ants are beings of miracles and infinite possibilities. Humans to some extent can be said to be 'magical'. Their forte is..."
Noah tapped a finger to his forehead, "Ingenuity and knowledge."
He then laughed, "Give them a Cultivator's blood and they would find a way to communicate with the metaphysical Qi."
"Superman comes from a quite powerful extraterrestrial race and his special blood happened to land into human's hands. Then voila, you get a literal walking destruction called Doomsday which eventually leads to the situation you are witnessing right now."
"That little pup Darkseid likes to cause trouble everywhere. I can't imagine him coming up with such an interesting way to overwhelm a civilization," Alicia spoke with a disdainful smile.
Noah didn't ask her how she knew about Darkseid.
She could have easily found out all the knowledge about this reality since she was Nigh-Omniscient and could effortlessly connect her mind with the past, present, and future of the infinite multiverse.
Another reason was her affiliation with The Presence and since the Sphere of Gods was akin to at least recognizable ants or fiction in their views, some notorious individuals might have slightly caught their attention.
"So how are we going to deal with them?" Wanda asked, her pupils shining bright red.
Immense battle intent radiated from her enchanting eyes.
Noah cluck his tongue, while his lips tagged at their corners. "If you fight that swarm, it would be just bullying but anyway, just do it cleanly and fast."
"You wouldn't want to be encircled by these blood-thirsty minions."
Wanda nodded and flew forward.
Her hands were coated with Chaos Magic that thrummed with scintillating scarlet energies - a power capable of overwriting the very fabric of reality.
Since Noah had said to make her move fast and silently, Wanda now assuming the role of Scarlet Witch, intended to do just that.
With a wave of her delicate hand, she influenced reality to her whims and turned the army of paradooms to sand immediately.
"Molecular Transmutation. Interesting." Noah touched his chin while observing Wanda.
"I see you have found new ways to use your powers, Wanda."
"I guess you could say that. After absorbing the unlimited power from Chthon and the True Darkhold, I decided to make use of my talents to the best of my capabilities." Wanda merely smiled at Noah while tucking a strand of loose hair behind her elf-like ear.
"Wow, that's a pretty nice way of using your power," Mu Xuanyin said in an appreciative tone.
In fact, she found it cool but she didn't show it on her face.
"Yeah, it's cool sister." Jasmine nodded with an absent-minded look on her face.
She was actually reliving that scene in her mind and trying to understand that reality-altering phenomenon.
Something that she would soon get a hang of.
"By the way, I don't sense any living beings nearby and well, it seems the last battalion of humanity are congregated in one place fighting those hordes of paradooms or not?" Xia Qingyue who was silent all this time said with a doubtful expression.
"Staying here would be no fun. I know where the important players have gone." A light shone in Noah's eyes as he replied.
"And it seems we weren't late. Hopefully, we wouldn't miss out on the fun."
Noah knew exactly what was happening.
Lois Lane, Alexander Luthor, and the Suicide Squad should be taking on several paradooms.
"So our next destination is?" Jasmine licked an ice cream with a bored expression on her face.
A battle-crazed smile appeared on his godly visage.
"APOKOLIPS!"
This time he sealed all of his strength.
