(THIRD POV)

Blake and Amelia attended Gary's party, not once leaving each other's side. By the time it ended, they went to the hotel. Since they were tired, they didn't even share a romantic kiss as usually did when Blake returned from the army.

In the morning, Amelia called Gary and asked if they would meet, postponing driving back home as she had planned.

They met around ten AM, in a coffee shop near Gary's workplace. She congratulated him. However, her voice didn't sound as enthusiastic as she did yesterday. Instantly, Gary knew something was bothering his friend. "Talk to me, don't worry about coffee, I quit after Christina asked me to."

"She got you on the thumbs, uh?"

"So good," Gary replied, a smile on his face.
