Henry Russell placed Charlotte Cooper on the bed and took out the heating patches and hot packs from his suitcase. He then started to heat up water.

Charlotte lay on the bed, her face pale with pain, sweating profusely from her forehead.

After tidying things up, Henry walked to the bedside, looked at Charlotte curled up, and tightly held her hand, "Is it still hurting a lot?"

Charlotte nodded. The heat from the heating patches and hot packs made her feel somewhat comfortable, but her body was still cold and her lower abdomen spasmed in pain.

Henry rubbed his own hands to warm them, then continually massaged her lower abdomen.

On the first day of her period every month, Charlotte would often experience a period of stomach ache.
