Chapter 7: You Are Mine

Having stopped in his tracks, Henry Russell turned around to look at the person behind him. "Where is she?"

The two people seemed puzzled. "She just arrived, she should be on the seventh floor."

Henry took off his protective suit and gloves, and quickly walked out, eventually breaking into a run.

"What happened to him?" one of them asked.

The other one suddenly realized, "I heard from the nurses this morning that Henry got married. His wife's name is Charlotte Cooper."

When Henry arrived on the seventh floor, he saw Charlotte, covered in blood, standing at the entrance to the operating room.

His heart suddenly tightened, and he hurried towards her.

"Genna," his voice trembled slightly, with a hint of lingering fear.

He gripped her shoulder, looking her up and down, "Are you hurt? Where do you feel uncomfortable?"

He then anxiously began to check her over.

He rarely used to call her by her nickname, but recently he's been saying it more frequently.

Charlotte looked at him, trying to force a smile and assure him that she was fine, but she just couldn't smile.

Only after making sure she was truly okay did Henry breathe a sigh of relief and hold her in his arms, not caring about the blood stains on his body.

"It's good that you're okay, it's good that you're okay."

His hand gently stroked her, comforting her heart.

"Ella got seriously injured trying to save me," Charlotte said calmly.

Henry hugged her arm tightly.

"I know, she'll be fine."

A doctor hurriedly came out of the elevator, and seeing the two of them, said "Dr. Russell, the media is coming up!"

Henry let go of Charlotte, took her hand, and said, "Genna, come with me. I'll deal with the media first."

"No." Her eyes stubbornly remained fixed on the operating room, her feet unmoving.

Henry cupped her face, looking into her eyes, and said word by word, "Be good. Right now, all you need to do is go back, change your clothes, clean up, and wait for your assistant to wake up."

There was a determination in his gaze that was difficult to resist, and Charlotte reluctantly nodded.

Henry brought her to his office, where she still seemed dazed, and he pinned her against the door, sealing her lips with his own.

His kiss was passionate and urgent, filled with fear and the joy of regaining what was lost, before gradually becoming gentle.

Henry licked her lips, which had become even more luscious from his kiss, and whispered, "How do you feel?"

Charlotte's eyes finally showed a bit of life, and avoiding his searing gaze, she hoarsely replied, "I'm fine."

"First, take a shower. I'll have someone bring clothes over later."

When Charlotte came out of the bathroom, there was a set of clothes quietly lying on the table in the break room.

She put on the clothes, glancing casually at her framed photo on the table.

Henry was an extremely self-disciplined person, and his desk was adorned with only medical cases and a laptop. The only decoration was the framed picture of her.

Her heart seemed to be touched by something as she picked up the frame, glanced at it, and then put it back, "Even in acting you know how to be thorough. What a scary man."

With her mind a bit calmer, she was about to leave when someone suddenly knocked on the door.

Charlotte didn't recognize him, but he said, "Dr. Russell asked me to tell you that there are many paparazzi at the hospital, so don't go out. The two patients are already out of danger, and you don't need to worry."

Charlotte relaxed, "Where's Henry Russell?"

"He has an important surgery to perform, which will take a long time. He asked you to rest here first."

After Charlotte acknowledged the information, she closed the door and called her manager.

Vanessa Foster seemed quite busy on the other end of the line, reassuring Charlotte and telling her to listen to Henry and not to move around, before hanging up.

Charlotte trusted her manager's abilities and was certain that she would handle this situation well, so she didn't worry anymore.

After eating the takeout that Henry had ordered, she lay down and soon fell asleep.

She slept all the way until the next morning.

Charlotte opened her eyes and marveled at her surprisingly good quality sleep, even in a hospital. She grabbed her phone and discovered that Vanessa had almost resolved everything from the day before.

Knowing that she was still at the hospital, Vanessa said she would be coming soon and told Charlotte not to move around.

As soon as she opened the door to the resting room, she unexpectedly bumped into Henry.

"Are you alright?"

Henry stepped back after being bumped by her, and she quickly asked him.

Having stood all night, his legs were somewhat numb, and at this moment, his usually sharp eyes were also filled with bloodshot veins.

Upon seeing Charlotte, he embraced her, resting his chin on her shoulder and closing his eyes.

"You didn't sleep all night?"

Henry uttered a hum, tightened his embrace around her for a moment, then let her go and asked, "Hungry?"

"Not hungry."

Seeing that Henry was about to grab his phone, she said, "Vanessa is coming up soon, she'll probably bring some food."

Henry nodded.

After Charlotte finished freshening up, she heard the knock on the door from Vanessa.

Seeing her, Vanessa handed her a bag of breakfast, "I've contacted most of the media, but there are always a few small magazine agencies looking for news. So, lay low for the next few days."

"Don't worry about Ella and the driver, I've arranged for someone to take care of them. These next few days, you just need to take care of yourself."

Vanessa always spoke with a precise and direct manner, getting straight to the point.

Charlotte nodded.

"Well, I'll go first. The company is waiting for my report."

Charlotte closed the door and turned to see Henry, leaning against a single-seat sofa with his eyes closed, his head slightly tilted.

The handsome face betrayed a hint of fatigue, a few stubbles on his chin, which nonetheless failed to mask his charm.

She sighed softly and took a piece of clothing to cover him with.

Unexpectedly, the man on the sofa suddenly opened his eyes.

His bloodshot eyes were seductive like a demon that devours the human soul.

"You…"

"Genna, you're mine," the man on the sofa suddenly uttered this inexplicable statement.

Charlotte didn't know what he was up to, and as she tried to get up, the man used his strength to hold her down, making it impossible for her to escape.

"You're mine," he repeated.

Charlotte looked puzzled, feeling that he had gone mad.

Henry took a wedding ring out of his pocket, held her hand, and put it on her ring finger.

He lowered his head and kissed her, "Never leave me."

Charlotte thought that Henry must have gone crazy, but he appeared unnaturally calm.

As much as she thought about it, she couldn't find anything that could have changed Henry's mind recently.

The man in front of her gazed into her eyes, his pupils shining brightly, tinged with a touch of sickly obsession.

Charlotte felt that even if he were deceiving her, she was willing to sink into oblivion for him, even if it cost her her life.

"Is this really what you're thinking?"

Charlotte leaned against his chest, creating a slight distance between the two of them, and her eyes reflected his image.

"Yes."

"If you ever leave me or find someone else..."

Her words were cut off, "It won't happen."

"I won't let you go!"

Completing her sentence, Charlotte reached out and embraced him.
