Vivienne turned to Sameer.
"I believe congratulations are in order for you, too," she said softly. "Your doctor is magnificent. I am so happy for you."
She turned to Abhay and hugged him as well. "I hope you will not hold Hamir's conception against Sameer, Dr. Thapar," she whispered in his ear. "It was non-consensual. He was drugged and Natalie took advantage...and she abandoned the child within a few weeks of his birth. It was sheer luck we found him safe and sound."
"Where is she?" Abhay asked quietly.
"In Hong Kong, using a pseudonym and happily married to some banker," Vivienne replied, equally quiet. "Hamir is a beautiful and intelligent child, just like his father. She said you had once suggested the name for a child born of her and Sameer, and that's why she had named him Hamir Thapar Rana Mehta. She wanted no trace of herself to remain with him."
