Mysterious Man

A few minutes earlier:

Elekid POV:

I will wait here without causing trouble this time. I can't miss the free Milk pack that Dad gives me.

As I waited, I heard a sound that made me curious,

"Lett... Golett,"

'What's that? it looks so fat... and its eyes are shining,' I though.

Just for a second, I went across to the end of the Corridor,

'I promise I will not go too far' I vowed to myself.

I walked to the end but couldn't see anyone,

"Kidd? Elekidd" I said asking if anyone were here.

I heard a sudden voice under my feet, I looked down and a head popped out from the floor,

"GOOOLLETTT," it said

"Eleeekidd!!!" I shouted in panic,

'No!! I am not afraid. I am daring I am daring I am daring' I muttered while running away in fear.

After a minute, I found myself lost and all I could see were these glowing yellow lights around. They seem to be calling for me, but I couldn't reach them... I walked forward and found one yellow light which was lower in elevation than usual.

"Elekidddd", I made a huge leap and held on to it. I peeked through this yellow light, I could see a familiar thing passing inside.

'Looks delicious', I thought and sucked it in instinctively. I felt power surging through my body like never before, I wanted more so I held on tightly and absorbed as much as possible.

"Siccccc.....Siccccc" I suddenly heard the flickerings but did not care.

After a while, I felt full and satisfied but suddenly all the yellow lights went out after some flickerings.

'I don't know what happened, I have no part in this and did not do anything!!!'

Everything went dark and I used my electricity to see around... I walked for a minute and couldn't find the way back to Father.

Suddenly I heard footsteps and then I saw a huge man,

" You!!!! who are you?.....a Pokemon?.... What's a pokemon doing here? Are you the one who caused this?.... For fuck's sake!!!! where is your trainer?" he asked multiple questions and picked me up with one hand.

I tried to struggle and use my power but it doesn't seem to affect him at all... and his aura is giving me chills, something in him is making me anxious and urging me to escape no matter what.

He was scolding me all the while carrying me, finally, after around two minutes of walking, I saw father again.

'Thank God!!! This guys aura almost made me unable to breathe!!' I thought and calmed down

Father will save me for sure.

Present(Arthur POV):

"This little runt is your Pokemon?" asked a man with a wide and bulky built. I couldn't see him completely due to darkness but I could trace his silhouette.

"Ye... Yes Sir. Is this your Golett?" I said asking back and pointing to the one that's standing near me.

"Oh!!! Golett you were here? I was searching for you all around. You brat, always pulling pranks...." he said suddenly changing his serious demeanour.

"Goletttt," it said running towards the man.

"Here take this hyperactive guy, he will be quite a handful full, so make sure you discipline him. I will let this slide for once just because you found my Golett," he said throwing Elekid over while I hurriedly caught him.

'Did he just mention Elekid gender as 'HE'?'

While I was contemplating, the man turned back with the Golett, I immediately turned my ability because my instincts wanted to verify the pressure I felt before. It was very subtle but I felt it for one-tenth of a second.

My eyes turned red and all I could see were two colours.

Surprisingly, One was the first Dark Blue grade I have ever seen around a Pokemon. It was almost invisible around Golett because another colour was suppressing everything around our background and it was an intense raging Yellowish Brown aura that almost blinded my eyes.

I couldn't keep my eyes open in the fear of going blind so I immediately turned my ability off.

As if sensing something the burly man turned back immediately,

"Kid!!!! Did you do something?" he asked as if second questioning himself.

"Me?? No what happened Sir?" I asked back in confusion trying to hide my inner shock.

'Did he find my power? How? No one ever felt it!!!!'

"Nothing!!! I just felt like someone was looking into me... maybe it was my imagination," he said walking downstairs at a steady pace.

No way I am gonna let this guy leave, he is a big piece of golden meat, although he looked scary, he seemed kind enough, just by the fact that he let me go for the trouble Elekid caused...

"Excuse me, Sir. I am a new student here and my back is hurt as I fell down a minute ago. I am unable to walk alone to the shop downstairs. I want to buy a potion, please help me..." I asked in a pitiful tone.

He contemplated for a second and said,

"Golett, give him some support while we walk downstairs," he said and started walking downstairs.

Then Golett immediately nodded at that and came to my side in its casual attitude. I put my hand on its shoulder and walked slowly. For some unusual reason, Elekid seemed to be a bit silent now. He was just silently keeping up with us.

"How did you know my Elekid was a male?" I ask him suddenly which made him stop for a second.

"Huh? Elekid? can't you see the size of the 'electric bolt' on his chest? Females usually have a smaller one he said..."

"Oh!!!!! You seemed to know well about Elekids, are you by chance the electrician here?" I ask knowing full well he is not.

He stooped his steps again and turned back,

"Huh? Electrician? What makes you think that I am one of them, Kid," he said in annoyance.

"You know, you came exactly during the blackout, not to say, who walks around 3 AM, if not for the duty calls. You also knew the Gender of my Electric Pokemon just by one look and have a Ground-type like Golett to keep you safe from your electrical work," I said giving him perfect reasoning.

He seemed to buy my explanation and feigned ignorance.

"Hmmm, nice reasoning you got there... Yes, I am the electrician here. Anyways, here is the shop area, buy what you want... Power will be back in an hour," he said signalling at Golett to follow back.

"Wait!!! Wait!!!..." I sad and took some money and gave it to the guy in the shop in hurry.

"Give me a good candy that's liked by Groud types," I said not knowing if they are even sold here.

'That guy who gave Dorm tour said everything is available here so they might be there,' I thought.

"Yes, please wait for a second," said the shopkeeper as I appeared from nowhere.

He handed me a weird brown bar. I gave him a 1000$ note, "Also a potion for me, I have muscle strain," I said back taking the candy bar and walking towards Golett who is waiting with his eyes shining.

"Here, thanks for helping me out. I know that your trainer is an electrician so his salary might not be high. If you ever want candies you can visit me in Room 35," I said while patting his head.

"Golett... Golett," it said in joy and nodded immediately but when I looked at the burly man beside, he seemed to be controlling his anger.

"Youuu.... what do you mean my salary is low..." he said gritting his teeth.

"Whatever, let's go Golett..." he then said walking away with Golett following him.

'Phew... that went better than expected... There's no way he is a normal guy with Blue Grade pokemon right? and also that intense aura'

I never saw a Blue Grade in my whole life to date. Not even the Count's Pokemon were Blue. The aura was another clue for me to be sure that he is someone high up in position.

"Sir, your Potion.... a total of 800$, both cost 400$ each," he said while handing me 200$ back.

"That candy bar is 400$????" I asked back.

"Yes Sir, it's made of rare ingredients and boosts the Pokemon ability to sense Ground-type energy temporarily."

"Ohhhh... Ok, Also give me food with high proteins and Carbs for 150$ and two Miltank milk packs for the other 50$," I said handing him the change back.

"Yes Sir, wait here for a second...." he said collecting everything I asked for.

It took some time as everything here is dark with only the moonlight helping us out.

"Why are you so quiet?" I asked Elekid while gulping the potion.

[That man is scary, he has some kind of energy that's calm but feels like it can suppress me to death..... I don't know what but it for sure made me unable to breathe.] said Elekid while signalling with his hands in panic.

'Hmmm, The only energy that can Suppress Electric-type is Ground and Dragon or Steel in some cases. He has a Golett, is he a Ground-type specialist?' I thought while feeling comforted by fully healed strain.

I had potions before in Nuvema, although they can't cure everything. They cure simple things like Muscle strains or broken fingers but the only problem is we need a high supplement of food to balance it out.

That's the reason I am buying so much food for one night.

"Here you go, Sir," he said handing me the heavy baggage.

"Thank you, I will visit again," I said waving him goodbye.

I then took a protein bar and started eating immediately. I badly needed some energy to get back to the room after that potions work.

"Also, Elekid!!! Don't think I forgot the fact that you caused a Blackout while promising me not to," I said strictly turning towards Elekid.

[No!! wait!!! I had a reason, thattt..... that weird Pokemon that had shining eyes and some patt.......]

He gave a lengthy explanation defending him while badmouthing Golett.

"Doesn't explain the fact on why you absorbed the energy..." I said making him apologise repeatedly and promising me that he would never repeat it.

'No way I am buying his promise!!! Even that burly man said to be careful with Elekids..... So from now on, I should have laser focus on training and disciplining my starter.'

Ten days later:

Although I did not know who exactly that guy was, Golett has been visiting us every 2 or 3 days to play with Elekid or get some candy. The only issue with that was that it was visiting us past midnight. I just bought the 50$ candies as 400$ seemed like overkill. ( here $ is poke dollar)

The last ten days have only been about roaming around, exploring the Academy, bonding with Elekid and chatting with Ethan.

Ethan had successfully contracted with Munna without any complications. Unlike Elekid, Munna is a calm natured Pokemon so everything was a smooth sail for him.

We had no way to train or fight in these past ten days. All first-year starters are in the baby stage so it is prohibited.

Finally, from tomorrow, we can start training and the most important thing is that tomorrow will be our first day of classes.

luckily nothing eventful happened since the first day, although Elekid is a bit hyper and bullish, he has been growing to understand what to not touch and what cannot be played with.

Also, I know that Elekid has some electric type attack but not sure of the other moves. Ethan advised me not to test moves in the baby stage as to avoid hidden injuries while performing them. So will have to wait for tomorrow to arrive.

Also, It cost me 50k dollars for all the repairs in the apartment. Thankfully, I have a lot of money so it did not cause much of a problem. But soon, I need to figure out a way to earn money on campus. We are not allowed to go out of the Academy until our Pokemon reach the intermediate stage.

The stages here are divided into 7 types, namely: Baby, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Elite, King, Champion. Rumour of a higher stage called 'Master' is going around the kingdom but that's just a rumour.

Anyways, We need our Pokemon to reach an intermediate level to take up Academy tasks.

It might take some time but will be faster as early stages are a bit easier to grind. So, I am just waiting for today to end and start the Academy lessons soon...
