Sacrificing Pride!

In a 62 storey twin tower, where one could only gawk at but couldn't enter until they are the chosen ones , that is the hunters.

In that majestic building, 8 person were holding a regular meeting on the 45th floor. The meeting was going on, in the presence of the Chairman, yet he didn't had any focus in it.

The other 7 were discussing about various matters, mostly related to recent dungeons and upcoming hunters but the chairman was only tapping his index finger on the table, showing how anxious he was. He was checking his wrist watch time to time like he was waiting for someone desperately.

The other officials never ask anything from him as the secretary of the chairman , mostly handled matters like these. And since there was no urgent matter to be dealt with, no one bothered him casually.

Shigeo was impatiently waiting for the response of the two of his employees who went to 'invite' a very special entity.

As he was about to ask a someone, to check on them....

*CRASHHH*The glass behind the chairman abruptly broke down, shattering the whole glass into small pieces. Luckily Shigeo had his secretary standing behind him , or he might had to look for a healer .

Everyone in the room , including Shigeo stood up with their guards instantly up and glared at the broken glass.

Soon a boy with sharp facial features and eyes which was looking dead cold , made everyone shiver.

Subaru landed inside with the two agents , who went to invite Subaru , in his clutch. Subaru was holding them with their neck, choking them until they fell unconscious.

He threw the both men on the ground with force enough to push them toward the feet of Mr. Chairman.

Shigeo just looked at Subaru in shock before lowering his gaze toward the two agents.

Their faces were beaten upto the point that even their family won't be able to recognise them . Not only their face were disintegrated but their limbs too . All the four limbs were bent in indefinite posture, showing how brutally they were tortured.

Shigeo frowned with sweat forming uncontrollably on his forehead. Subaru pulled Shigeo chair with his mana thread and sat on it cross legged with a death glare focused on the chairman.

"Take them away". Shigeo ordered his secretary who was standing beside him. The cut marks were healed from his body as he himself was a B rank healer. The secretary just nodded while shaking terrifyingly and pulled the both agents outside of the room.

"Leave us". Shigeo said in a dominating yet shaky tone.

"But chai-"

" Didn't you heard what I said? "He glared at the agent who was about to interrupt. No one wanted to leave the chairman with the dangerous boy who solely broke the two professional hunters upto the point where death seemed mercy for them, but they couldn't afford to refuse Shigeo so they also left one by one.

"Your dogs had corssed their line. Will the chairman take the responsibility or should I compensate it in a different way". A small blue flame ignited on top of Subaru's index finger.

Shigeo felt a shiver ran down his spine when he heard Subaru's word. Shigeo was cunning and very decisive man who made his way to the top of the food chain, destroying every obstacle , he faced in the way . Having the best hunter as his ally and Japanese government dancing on his palm top, he felt totally invincible , like no one was out of his reach . But a certain boy shattered his pride , hurt his ego but even so he could do nothing but only bow.

"I am sorry for whatever happened." Shigeo the man who made thousands of people bow infront of him , was bowing and apologizing to a boy who was not even half of his age. Shigeo knew that Ryuji was the only hunter who could handle Subaru and right now Goto Ryuji had already boarded off for Spain to handle a red gate as a contract hunter. Even Ryuji would have been here , Shigeo never would have let him face Subaru right now as Shigeo needed Subaru at any cost whether he had to sacrifice his pride and lower his head for it.

On the other side , Subaru was surprised to see the chairman bowing this instantly, without even asking the reason nor coming up with a threat to wipe him out or something.

"Why do you wanted to meet me". Subaru didn't trailed long and got on the main point .

"I think you already know. But even so , as the chairman of The Hunters Association, I would like to invite you to help human kind and provide protection to those who can't protect themselves ". Shigeo stood straight before stating his interest.

"I am not a certified hunter, you know that right?"

"Yes I know and I won't ask you to work for us until you reach the age of 16 and attain your hunter's license. "

" I will think about it but first I want to clarify my three condition , if i ever consider joining the association. " Shigeo knew something will come up like this , so he didn't gave off, any reaction and stood still , like a bot.

"I would like to hear them".

"First, I will work with you , not for you. That means I am not going to recieve order neither from you, nor from anyone". Shigeo understood whome this 'anyone' was specifically specified for.

Shigeo contemplated for a bit , calculating every possible drawbacks which could arise in future but in the end he nodded in agreement.

"Ok , you will work as you desire but you have to follow the general rule which every hunter follows". Subaru didn't had problem to work in a legal manner so he just agreed to it and proceeded to the next condition.

"I don't want anot-*ahem* a peeker , spying on me. My private life and the people who are included in it, should be left alone. If I find anyone or anything breaching my privacy then you know what could happen". Shigeo choked again because of the killing intent , Subaru was giving off.

"Yes , i will make sure of that. I will be the only one who will contact you through your cellphone ".

" Good . About the third condition, then I will tell you , when the correct time will come ". Subaru stood up and turned toward the broken glass frame.

"Potential hunter are required by all countries you know that right , Mr Shigeo? So think about the consequences before you use your trickery against me".

Back in the Momobami clan ancestral residence , the next clan head , the person with the most power after the current clan lord , was acting like a maiden right now totally drown in sweetness of love.

Ririka came back home and after settling down some of the matters and checking on her father whose condition had became worse than before , she immediately walked back to her room only to relive and recall the moments she spent with Subaru. She threw all her formal clothes and wore only a long t shirt which she always prefers whenever she was alone. No one dared to come inside her room without permission , so she never put her mask whenever she was alone.

With a long bolster pillow between her thighs and hugging the same pillow tightly , she started remembering those blissful moments she spent with Subaru today . A shy smile was plastered on her face while she was imagining the warmth she felt in Subaru's embrace.

"Another 30 days before I could meet you. I wish to see you everyday tho. Can't you be a little lenient with me. You are so cruel Subaru but that's what make me fall for you even more . Hah...I wish you can also say it to me one day. " Talking to the pillow, she started closing her eyes slowly. Her dreams were also connected with Subaru so she felt happiness while sleeping now , and didn't felt scared and lonely like before.

After only five minutes, when Ririka already went off to her dreamland , a person with small stature breached inside the residence. The Momobami clan was one of the most renowned and prestigious clan with various high rank hunters serving under them and maintaing the clan reputation but even with the high security and advance surveillance , a mere teenage girl broke through it without even getting noticed by anyone. And those who noticed her, were not in the world anymore .

Gliding swiftly in the shadows , she made her way to Ririka's room .

After checking the surrounding for any unexpected trap, the girl walked toward the sleeping beauty after taking out a small knife, but didn't attacked Ririka right away.

"I know you are awake ". She said with a dull tone like she was facing some kind of disgust.

"You are no fun at all Miss Gasai." Ririka opened her eyes and saw a pink haired girl with blood all over her face, giving off an ominous aura.

"You are really hard to track sometime you know that". Ririka sat on her bed and swayed her index finger playfully.

Yuno didn't waited her to speak any more before she threw her knife directly aimed at Ririka's left eye. Ririka didn't panicked and tilted her to dodge the knife smoothly.

"Impatient huh." Ririka teleported from the bed and appeared behind Yuno.

"So what's the reason for your visit ?" Before Yuno could jab Ririka with her elbow, she teleported back to the bed.

Yuno's rage increased to the point where she wanted to slice Ririka into thin strands . But she knew irrationality would lead her to failure, so she exhaled before closing her eyes. After a couple of seconds , two dark line started forming under her both eyes. Ririka became a little anxious because of this sudden change , so she teleported right beside Yuno to finish her off with her own dagger, but just after she teleported , Yuno caught Ririka by her neck like she was waiting for her. Yuno grabbed the dagger by her bare hand and snatched it like a toy from a child's hand.

"*Cough* ho-how i-"

"Don't stress about how I did this. And since you are going to die anyway, I think you should know the reason of your death right?".

Ririka facial colour was changing to red and slowly to blue due to the lack of oxygen. Her hand were struggling to break free from Yuno's grasp but Yuno raw strength were on whole another level if compared to Ririka.

"The person with whome you were clinging like a slut today, belongs to me. So now be thankful that I am giving you a merciful death".
