“Well, are you going to see her?”
Lou wiped her hands on her jeans. Her palms got sweaty when she talked about this. “I can’t see why not. But it scares the hell out of me.”
“Why?”
“I don’t want to get any hopes up. I’ve been here eighteen years and nine months. Hell, Harvard, I got grandchildren I’ve never seen. Outside seems a long ways away.”
