Chapter 100

“There’s nothing left!” Gina stopped her search of the room and turned back to Lou.

“What are you looking for, sweetie? Lou asked.

“Stuff! You know, stuff! Ruth said there’d always be enough for me as long as I was nice to the guards but she ran away, too.”

Lou just watched as Gina’s tirade grew more and more outrageous. She knew that Gina was a heavy cocaine user, but she hadn’t expected this degree of withdrawal from her. She sat and watched as Gina disintegrated before her. Finally Gina collapsed into a small ball on the floor, holding herself and rocking back and forth as the tears streamed down her face. Gina was no longer aware that there was anyone else in the room.
