“I thought I smelled Lorraine, but if it was her, the smell has dissipated. It’s hard to tell with all of the city’s odors, but I thought I caught a whiff.”

Marc sighed. “It’s an open city. As long as she breaks no laws, we can’t do anything about her.”

“Do you think she’s followed us around?” Colin looked to Marc for an answer.

“I haven’t caught her odor until Philippe pointed it out to me. She must have been here, but it could have been relatively recent or as much as a few hours ago and this is the first time I inhaled her stink since she left Gull Lake.” Marc sniffed the air again. “Yes, I am catching the fading smell. We’re going to have to put two Enforcers on Colin.”

“Yes, Alpha, I think that is wise,” Philippe said. “If she gets Colin, she gets you, and we can’t involve Murphy yet, as there hasn’t been a direct threat. Alpha, let me sit by the window. They may be tinted, but I’d rather you and Colin are safe.”
