Chapter 193: Breaking the bad news and Shocking news

"Eldest uncle, please come inside first and talk." Bai Yi Yang finally said something after keeping quiet. She also told the children to continue playing with the puppies in the yard. Jiang Yu Zan nod and follow the children into the house.

Bai Yi Yang and Bai Yi Chen head to the living room with Jiang Yu Zan following behind them while Bai Yi Ling enter the kitchen to prepare drinks and refreshment. No matter what her opinion about him, he is still a guest.

"Xiao Chen, Xiao Yang, you two explain to uncle. What did your younger brother say just now? Where is your parents?" Jiang Yu Zan don't have time to look around, he just wanted to know the truth. He haven't seen his younger sister or his younger brother-in-law, he have a really bad feeling.

"Eldest uncle, what Xiao Mo said is true. Both our father and mother has passed away about 2 years ago from road traffic accident in City Bei." Bai Yi Chen said.

"What?! You must be joking..there..there is no way Yu Tong will leave the world that young. There is no way.." Jiang Yu Zan eyes becomes red, he slumped onto the seat and cover his face with both hands. He didn't say anything for a long time and the atmosphere was a bit tense.

"Why are you saying this about my sister?! She must be angry that she don't want to see me, that's why she ask you to say this to me right?" Jiang Yu Zan said, he seems to be in denial. He said this but he already start crying. The twins let him catch on with the news and didn't say anything.

'No matter how they fought before, they are still blood sister and brother.' TongTong sigh as he watch the maternal uncle going through the sad news. TongTong don't understand this kind of bond but it have read about it, someone losing a family member is a very sad thing.

"Yu Tong, gege is wrong..I am wrong..I won't fight with you again, so just come out and talk to me.." Jiang Yu Zan called out, he look around the living room but there is no sign of his younger sister.

"There is no use. My mother is really gone." Bai Yi Chen is still cold with the way he is talking to his uncle. He feels really wronged in his mother's place, her only family member didn't even come to her funeral, only coming after a few years, what is his right to be sad like this?

Bai Yi Chen stood up when Jiang Yu Zan even started to raise his voice to call out Jiang Yu Tong name. He will show him evidence if he wanted to. Bai Yi Chen went to take the documents file from the TV cabinet, it's the receipt from the columbarium where their parents is rested.

"See this." Bai Yi Chen put it in front of Jiang Yu Zan which Jiang Yu Zan read a few times.

After that, he finally broke into a bawl, like a small children. He clutched the receipt and call out Jiang Yu Tong, saying that he is sorry and everything. He even said that all his grievance all this year and now his only blood family is also gone. Done with that, he also apologise to his younger sister and continue to blurt out all of his wrongdoing.

Seeing him being heartbroken like this, Bai Yi Chen heart softened a bit. Them siblings may have lost their parents but at least they still have each other, Jiang Yu Zan is different, he already don't have parents and now he don't even have his only sibling anymore.

"Eldest uncle, you can stop crying. My mother..we sent her properly." Bai Yi Chen said, softening his tone of talking.

'Ahh..gege has always been a kind person. Just look at him being all nice again.' TongTong comment. Bai Yi Yang also agree that Bai Yi Chen is always the kindest despite his usual indifference, she actually don't have any opinion on this matter, so she let Bai Yi Chen handle this. Since this eldest uncle also don't have bad character to begin with, she don't mind even if the other 4 siblings forgive him and accept him back as their family.

"I have wronged Yu Tong..she..she will never forgive me this useless brother.." Jiang Yu Zan said in aggrieved tone, he even hit his chest when he remember his adorable little sister when she used to follow him around during their childhood. Since when did they grown apart from each other, why did their relationship got to this stage where he didn't even know that his younger sister has died tragically.

"My mother, she already forgive you long time ago. She even regret for getting angry with you and sending you away angrily." Bai Yi Chen sigh and said this. Don't know to what extent this is true, but it surely have a big effect on Jiang Yu Zan. His crying now is even more heartbreaking, even making Bai Yi Chen teary too. Bai Yi Yang saw this and hold her older brother's hand, she also pat his back and gave a small smile.

'Aww..you siblings is so sweet.' TongTong said, making a sobbing sound in the end.

"They are rested in City Bei?" Jiang Yu Zan ask weakly, he is still clutching the receipt. The atmosphere in the living room is a bit gloomy, even the children who is at the yard also tone down a lot with their playing.

"En. The columbarium is at a good location, the view is good too." Bai Yi Chen said.

"Good, when eldest uncle settle down, I will go visit your mother there." Jiang Yu Zan said. Bai Yi Chen nod and they all immersed in their own emotion.

When Jiang Yu Zan has calmed down, Bai Yi Ling come from outside. Actually she have been standing outside at the wall and listening, this eldest uncle did seem quite pitiful. So, se went to changed the orange juice with calming tea.

"Drink some tea." Bai Yi Ling put the tea in front of Jiang Yu Zan and went to sit next to Bai Yi Yang.

"Can you tell me more about what happened 2 years ago?"Jiang Yu Zan took a sip of the warm tea and finally calm down a bit. Bai Yi Chen nod and start talking.

"It was raining heavily that night, they returned from a colleague's house party, then they crashed trying to avoid an uneven road, that's what the investigation result and road camera shows." Bai Yi Chen said.

Their parents accident is really like that, they were just unlucky, while trying to avoid the hole in the road, the road was also slippery so they crashed onto the road guard rail before crashing onto a utility pole. They didn't passed away on the spot, their father passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital and their mother wasn't able to get through during surgery. It was unfortunate but they can only accept that it is just their fate to leave the world early.

"En, I understand." Jiang Yu Zan wipe his tears and nod. They all become silent again.

"Did you all siblings move here after that?" Jiang Yu Zan ask.

"Yes. A few months after that incident. Eldest uncle, your phone number..I wasn't able to reach it. I did try calling you many times." Bai Yi Chen said. Jiang Yu Zan froze.

"If it were 2 years ago, then I was on a run at that time. I changed my phone number a lot to not get caught." Jiang Yu Zan said.

"On a run?" Bai Yi Yang ask. Oh, this is something new. She almost lean forward to hear more of the story, but remembering that this is not a good time for that, she hold back a lot.

"En. My company is in a rocky situation, we borrowed money trying to manage the problem but it didn't work. I was chased by creditors, they even ransacked our house a few times, so we constantly goes in hiding and I changed by phone number many times." Jiang Yu Zan sigh and start talking.

"So, this past years, I have sold all my assets and my family's asset to pay back the loan slowly, I have been declared bankrupt more than a year ago. In City Shan, I work at a construction site, but my salary still cannot support the whole family so I decided to move back here to find other way to survive." Jiang Yu Zan said regretfully.

This news shocked the 3 siblings. They thought that their uncle is still living a rich life in City Shan, who knows that he even went through a phase where he is chased by creditors and didn't even know that his only sister has passed away.

Now that he have calmed down, he can finally look around a bit. He said that he can help, but actually he is not confident anymore. This courtyard house he is in now, he have seen it at its peak, even during that time it wasn't as good as now. "En." Bai Yi Chen nod. They were so determined not to take non-blood related child at that time, so they finally decided to adopt a child? Seems like, this hot tempered uncle has changed a lot.

Now that he have calmed down, other than his puffy eyes and stuffy nose, he seems much more composed. However, his stomach who suddenly made a growling sound totally crashed this image. Jiang Yu Zan look embarrassingly toward his nieces and nephew who is looking at his stomach now.

"I will go steam some dim sums and buns. Ge, you entertain eldest uncle first." Bai Yi Yang didn't say anything and stood up, she directly walk to the kitchen. Jiang Yu Zan has shown many embarrassing side of him today by crying his eyes out then exposing his failure and bankruptcy, so she won't add to that list anymore.

Bai Yi Chen also pretend not to hear it, he stopped Jiang Yu Zan from leaving and told him to have a light meal at their house before going. Maybe Jiang Yu Zan is in a rush and skip his meal, their family don't lack food, so how can they send someone to to back hungry. What more, the house at the village is not yet set up, maybe he can't even make food tonight. Bai Yi Chen put in his mind to tell Bai Yi Yang to pack some more later.

Jiang Yu Zan embarrassingly stay and chat with Bai Yi Chen. He asked about the siblings, especially about Bai Yi Mo and Bai Yi Fang who he cannot recognise. He also try talking to Bai Yi Ling who is playing with the kitten but he wasn't able to get much response from her, have to say, this Bai Yi Ling hold the most grudges. She softened up a bit but that doesn't mean she can treat Jiang Yu Zan kindly either.

Jiang Yu Zan was invited to the kitchen to eat when Bai Yi Yang finished steaming. Other than that, there are also a cup of orange juice next to the plate of various pretty dim sums and two big steamed buns.

Jiang Yu Zan swallow his saliva, their family has really been poor this few years, even dim sums is rare in their house since they just live with his mere 2,500 yuan salary in the city. His wife is working too, she work at a restaurant washing dishes with a mere 1,200 yuan salary. When combined, they have almost 4,000 yuan per month, but after paying rent at their small place and bills, they usually left just a bit more than half of their salary combined. It's hard to get through the month, half of the month, they won't even see a single meat dishes on their table. Living in a city, it's really is bit easy.

Jiang Yu Zan sat down and eat the meal wholeheartedly, he feels like tearing up again, about his fate and losing his younger sister too but this is no time to cry, he need to toughen up. Combined with new determination, he ate up all the food, even the orange juice is finished up. That was the most delicious meal he had in a while. This afternoon, he only had one big plain bun and stir fry zucchini. Now that they are moving and wanted to start anew, they save even more money so that was their lunch before he drive back here.

"Thank you for the meal. I really should go now." Jiang Yu Zan said.

"Okay, I will send you out uncle." Bai Yi Chen took the plastic filled with 5 steamed buns as he send Jiang Yu Zan out.

"Are you staying in the village tonight?" Bai Yi Chen ask.

"Yes, I will return to City Shan tomorrow morning." Jiang Yu Zan said. He also try getting close to the two children playing at the yard but the two just bid farewell to him politely before running away.

When he leave with his car, Bai Yi Chen gave him the steamed buns, saying that they can only cook this one quickly. This makes Jiang Yu Zan once more feeling thankful, he was ready to stay hungry throughout the night, one reason is because he can't open fire at the new house yet, second, because he also didn't buy any food, but this siblings is sensible enough. Jiang Yu Zan leave the Bai siblings house at 4.10 pm. He still need to rush to meet Head Village Li, then he can clean up the house a bit, tomorrow they will have another long day.
