Chapter 185: Sightseeing and eating in Country S

Their plan for today is packed, they will go back to the hotel, clean up and get changed, then head out. They rushed back to the hotel, put their stuff aside first then quickly clean up. The girls finished by 5.10 pm, Sir Austin and Li Jian Yu is already waiting at the lobby.

The girls finally get to dress up, so they were a bit excited. Bai Yi Yang wear a white one piece short sleeve dress, the style is similar to a tennis dress, then she wear a pair of white sneaker, hair pull into a ponytail. As for Wang Yi Lin, she also wear a denim skirt with a beautiful blouse, and Ruby An also wear a peach floral dress. Sir Austin immediately praise them like he is praising his daughter when they come down to the lobby.

Their plan is to go to a famous street in Country S to do some shopping, souvenirs and so on. It wasn't far, only 15 minutes via taxi, but since they need to take 2 taxi, it takes a while. The street have a very old feeling to it, there are street vendors selling street food, small coffee shops and so on.

"Let's go over there, that place is famous." Bai Yi Yang said. It's a coffee shop, famous for their Kaya toast with Kopi, one of the must have food when they visit Country S. The other immediately agree, Bai Yi Yang won't suggest if it's not good.

When they took a seat inside, the restaurant doesn't have much customer at this time. They ordered the signature Kaya toast and Kopi. Kaya toast is actually bread toasted with butter and Kaya, a specialty bread spread in Country S. Whereas Kopi is coffee with sugar, condensed milk and evaporated milk. It wasn't anything special but they all love it, just the right snack.

After the short tea time, they walk along the street, they entered a lot of interesting looking shops, there are scented candles, handcrafts, lot of perfume shop, souvenirs shop, t-shirts selling stall and so on. Basically, they mostly sell merchandise that is specifically found in Country S. The prices is also not very high.

Bai Yi Yang always bought something when she entered a shop, it's for her siblings and also the villagers, as for her classmates and people from school, she decided to buy various kind of snacks for them. They entered a shop selling old-school biscuits and tidbits which looks very interesting, the price is based on the weight and they can mix and match different type of snacks.

"I want this, this, this.. Mix and match, I wanted 70 packets." Bai Yi Yang ordered a packet which consists of 5 different type. The shop owner was taken aback for a while, so does the rest of the team. Each packet is more or less 2-3 dollars, the total will not be less than 150 dollars, that's a lot.

"Why?" Bai Yi Yang smile at them. When the shop owner confirm her order, she walk to the counter to pay.

"That's a lot." Ruby An said. Before this, when Bai Yi Yang go somewhere, she always bought them something, they didn't think much about it but seems like Bai Yi Yang also bought something for her classmates and other friends. The total is surely not small.

"There are my classmates, my theatre club members, my close friends, and people at the village." Bai Yi Yang said. She is used to this, so this time she only minus the one from the research team since they are also here.

"Every time you bought a souvenir, you bought this much?" Wang Yi Lin ask. She also have a few packets of biscuits in her hand.

"Yeah. I am used to it." Bai Yi Yang smile. She pay the total bill and it come out at 175 dollars in local currency, when converted, the total is about 820 yuan more or less, not that expensive. She look at the beautiful colour mixed together. The other can just watch with mouth wide open, she paid that much for souvenirs each time?

"Can you put it in a box and sealed it with fragile tag." Bai Yi Yang ask. The shop owner know how to speak Chinese.

"Of course, of course. You can come pick it up later, I will immediately prepare it." The shop owner answer. He talk in a similar accent as their guide yesterday, Maria.

After the rest finished paying their purchase too, they move onto the next shops until the sky is getting dark. They purchased a lot of stuff, including the box from the biscuit shop, so they decided to send it back to the hotel first.

When they arrived at the hotel with all the stuff, they come across the team from City Bei at the lobby, they also planned to head out. Since their team is consist of 8 people, they planned to ride the bus. The City Bei team only have 1 female student in their team and 1 female staff, they seems to be waiting for the two girls.

"Where are you heading to?" Sir Austin ask the older male teacher.

"To Hui An Restaurant." The teacher answer.

While Sir Austin is chatting, Li Jian Yu offer to take his stuff into the room. The three girls also decided to go up first with their stuff, after this they can go straight to the restaurant for dinner.

"What a coincidence, we are also heading there." Sir Austin said.

"Why don't we go together, we are also waiting for two more people, we can take the same bus later." The City Bei teacher said.

"Good, good. My students will go down soon, they are just sending the stuff upstairs." Sir Austin said.

Not long after, the two girls also come down and the rest of City Nan team also back. After telling his students about the plan, they all head to the bus station not far from the hotel.

"Did you make a reservation?" Sir Austin ask the same teacher. They are sitting together while the rest is scattered in the bus empty seats.

"Do we need to make reservation?" The teacher seems to be shocked. They only know that the place is famous for their seafood and decided to have dinner there, they didn't make reservations in advance.

"My student Yi Yang called in advance this afternoon to make reservations since that place is famous." Sir Austin said.

Indeed, all arrangements has been made by Bai Yi Yang. They wanted to try their famous chilli giant crab, so Bai Yi Yang made a reservation in advance, she even ordered food in advance just in case the menu run out before they arrived.

"I didn't think about that.." The City Bei teacher is a bit worried now. Their flight is also tomorrow evening, so they won't have time to come again. That will be disappointing if they really can't have dinner there.

"Yi Yang..Yi Yang.." Sir Austin saw this and call Bai Yi Yang over who is sitting 2 rows back.

"Yes, Sir." Bai Yi Yang who is chatting with the rest look up to Sir Austin.

"You said you book a private room right, can they ask some chairs and table there?" Sir Austin said. The City Bei teacher also look at Bai Yi Yang, hoping that it is doable.

"I will ask." Bai Yi Yang smile and took out her phone. She dial the restaurant number, she chatted for a while on the phone and after they come to an agreement, she hang up.

"They said it's doable. Sir, I forwarded the menu to your number, it's better to order early." Bai Yi Yang said. Sir Austin said thanks and open his phone. He show it to the teacher next to him, after ordering a few dishes, Bai Yi Yang send the text to the restaurant.

The restaurant is not far, but they were stuck in the traffic so they only arrived there by 7.45 pm. Bai Yi Yang immediately gave Sir Austin name and they 13 people is escorted to the private room. The private room is not big, what more when another square table is added at the side.

The 3 teachers and the female staff decided to sit at the square table and the 9 students sat at the big round table. It's a bit crowded but the 10 person table still can accommodate everyone.

The waitress confirmed their order one more time before she went out of the room. As expected, when the teacher from City Bei wanted to add a crab dish, they already run out of crabs, so he can only order a sweet and sour fish. Luckily they already made an order of crab dishes in advance under Bai Yi Yang advice.

"Your students is really outstanding, we didn't see it on our own but the other country is talking about your team all the time, they said that your team will surely get Gold." The teacher from City Bei said.

"I wanted to deny it but my students really did a good job this time." Sir Austin have a big smile in his face all the time. He only have praise towards Bai Yi Yang and the rest.

"Then, next year, hopefully we can meet again." The City Bei teacher said.

"Good, good. Let's meet again." Sir Austin said.

Not long after that, their dishes is brought in, combined to the dishes order by the City Bei team, the round table is almost full. There are 2 type of soup dishes, 3 vegetables dishes, 5 seafood dishes including huge crabs cooked in three different style, 1 roasted whole duck, 2 chicken dish and other 2 meat dishes. It's really a big feast. Originally, the City Nan team only order 1 soup, 2 vegetables, 3 seafood dish, 1 roasted duck and 1 meat dish, but when the City Bei added their order, it become this much.

"My students eat a lot.." The City Bei teacher said with a laugh when he saw the City Nan team reaction. His students is mostly boys, so it's natural for them to eat a lot.

After that, they all focused on eating for the next 30 minutes, their signature crab dishes is really too delicious, the other dishes is also taste good but the seafood dish is especially delicious, no wonder the price is 75 dollars per dish. The crab dish price is at this range.

"I am full." Ruby An is the last one of their team who put down her spoon, even Li Jian Yu already give up, of course the 4 boys from City Bei is still eating. After sitting in the same table, they also hot to chat with each other. Ruby An is especially interested with the City Bei's team leader, the cute senior in spectacles.

"Sir, can we order some dessert?" Ruby An call Sir Austin who is at the teacher's table, taking their time with the meal. Unlike the students table, the teachers are more chill, they are more focused on chatting.

"Order what you want." Sir Austin laugh and said. Ruby An cheer and stood up to take the menu book at the side. When she return, she pushed the empty plate and bowls in front of them.

"Yi Yang, you can take off the apron now." Ruby An said. Them girls decided to wear some aprons so that their clothes won't be stained, the boys seems not to care and put the apron aside.

Bai Yi Yang stood up and ask Ruby An to help, it was the same with Wang Yi Lin and the only girl from City Bei. It's just that Bai Yi Yang is really a bit good looking so when she stood up, the boys from City Bei can't help but steal glances at her.

"Tsk. Eyes.." The only girl from City Bei warn her teammates. She is a bit tomboyish, that's why she can blend in with the team that is mostly boys. The girls from City Nan is really good looking, they also know to wear beautiful clothes, City Nan girls student was talked about a lot during this competition. So, her teammates being like this is understandable.

Bai Yi Yang and the rest ignore this, they pretend not to see this and continue to chat. After that, they also ordered a few desserts. They order famous local dessert such as shaved ice in Country S style, small sago balls with palm sugar, then mango pudding with coconut milk infused with pandan. They are all delicious.

Since they all take their time eating and chatting, they only finished their dinner at 9.05 pm. Everything cost 735 dollar. They split the bill, City Nan team pay 350 dollars and the City Bei team pay 385 dollars. Actually the City Bei team wanted to pay more, but Sir Austin refuse, even without them, they will still have to pay about 350 dollars in total.

Then, they went to the bus station again and decided to return to the hotel. Today is not as tiring as yesterday but they have to tidy up their stuff too. The closing and award ceremony tomorrow will be at 9.00 am, expected to end by 11.00 to 11.30 am. Whereas their flight back to City Nan is at 2.35 pm. They don't have much time to pack tomorrow, so it's better to do it tonight.
